Hola!!!! Ya Puedo oler el olor de las borekas, el mar y ver el cielo de La Palestina, un cielo azul nácar haciendo contraluz en las montañas de sus vídeos, precioso!!!! 💖🌍🌍🌍
If you are in the Southern part of the USA you are more than likely Sephardic Jew also. We have been studying autosomal DNA with DNA consultants and found thousands of Southern People of all colors are the children of Sephardic Jews from the expulsion. Ironically the Southern people have no British DNA. I'm returning to Judaism this month. Our history is very wrong at worst and very incomplete at best. Good luck.
Duduk musical gives it that deep soulful effect. Beautiful song and music. Thousands of Jews and non Catholics left Spain and Portugal about 500 years ago under very difficult circumstances. Anyway, we are here for the beautiful and amazing music.
I love this! My last name comes from two Sephardic brothers (Curbelo) who fled the inquisition to San Benito, Texas from the Canary Islands. Shalom from Louisiana!
It's like a time machine, taking us back before WWII, back before Spain was recaptured from Islam, and maybe even to very early Semitic music, although the archaeologists are only guessing. And then we can here one of the influences on European Troubadour music. Surprisingly exciting to hear war-like interpretations of psalms. Plus ca change! I made a donation.
Hello :) someone dear to me said that in reality, all Jews are Sephardic - we are all from Y'Israel. Only some of us wandered farther north. Your lovely music brings me to my ancient bloodline. Thank you so much for this poetry in music.
Thats right what you say. The Ashkenasi Jews are descendants of Jews from Italy which, like you said it right, were Sephardic too. They wandered further north and from there to eastern Europe. The interesting point is that 40% of the Ashkenasi Jews are the offspring of only 4 women from Italy. Each woman left a genetic signature in the DNA that is easily to track under Ashkenasi Jews. But if you think it from the bottom of the bucket you are totally right. All Jews are related to each other. No matter if they call themselves Ashkenasi, Sephardic, Romaniote, Mizrahi, Yemenite, etc.

Eso es casi mismo que español, incluso un hablante extranjero de nivel básico como yo puede ver eso. The Jewish diaspora was and still is all over the world so it's little wonder that they will speak many languages including those that are characteristic of their own local communities, languages such as Yiddish and Ladino. It's always nice to hear of such diverse traditions, thanks to you.
You all elegently grasp times of old that ring through our hearts and spirit! It is a joy to shema words of life that paint the majesty and splendor of Elohim, Our one true God & creator of all things! Thank you! 💙
Greetings from Taiwan. I had experienced the band's wonderful performance tonight, and was truly touched. Though not acquainted with the language, Images and stories from the Bible and from my childhood came rushing through the mind... May God keep on blessing your works.
I would love to hear a song about the phrase that is used in Genesis 15 “And a Horror of Great Darkness fell upon Abram” that phrase always stuck with me because it reminded me of the most terrifying dream I ever had and maybe the first dream I remembered when I was about 4-5. I was in hell and more than that hell was inside me, right down in my tummy. And then I was rescued and translated into heavenly light and my mother was holding me and comforting me. I did t see anything except I remember the colour red and a blood curdling throbbing noise. All I can say is that nothing could possibly feel as horrifying as what I felt. But that passage in the Torah always reminded me of that. Because Abram was seeing the future suffering of our people. I believe he felt the suffering of every generation of God’s precious and peculiar people. That’s just my personal belief. The funny thing is is that Abram asked the Lord “How will I know that you are going to bless me” and it’s almost like the Lord was saying “this is how you will know, make me a sacrifice and cut it in two and then I will show something absolutely horrifying and then I will confirm a covenant by passing between the two pieces by two witnesses a burning lamp and a smoking furnace and then you will see” that’s me paraphrasing and not word for word by the way. But often that is the odd way the the Lord leads us to our inheritance, by a strange old road we come to our destiny. There’s a psalm that says “many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them ALL”
Now I read what this Beautiful song is about and I start crying it seems since I have been listening to the music of Jewish and Greek I have a since of hurting and pain I love the music but then I sometimes I'm in a rage how it has been for people of Jewish and Greek that it really pains me and I'm like do I want to listen to any of this anymore but I Just don't know Crying is said it is for healing but when does the rage go away I ask the Lord to help me everyday to help me God Be With Y'all Be Safe ✌💙
Yes, Sheila, you are right. sometimes history behind these songs is sad and tragic nevertheless we're grateful for the possibility of bringing history in an artistic and aesthetic way and not just as a tragic story. 🙏❤️🙏
The reason I’m here is because way back when before I was thought of! My ancestry was spanish jews and just recently I found out that Spanish jews are called Sephardi jews or Sephardic... and I never really knew much about my jewish side.. sure I could just look up in the bible.. but I needed to know more!! Like what are the roots of my jewish family? A cousin of mine is helping me to learn more about our jewish side.. so that’s fun! 😊👍🏻
Ginny... There is information you can browse. Biblical tradition tells that Jews from the times of king Salomon and Phoenicians from the times of king Hiram organised expeditions to Spain. Some of them stayed. Tradition is not history. The documented existence of Jews in Spain begins with the Romans. You can take it from then on, Jews living with Christians and Jews living with Muslims. Continuing with those who left and those who stayed and were killed or converted by force. Browse the words and you will find.
"If only one star shines, that is just enough to get inside!" Whispering Pines by Richard Manuel of The Band, I hope he got inside the star. Thanx for the song.
"Charity". What we really want? Everyone wants to be happy. Everyone wants LOVE. Everyone loves peace. Everyone wants bliss. Everyone wants that he does not have to be alone. Alone in an empty world. Therefore charity is important. Charity is a thanksgiving that we escaped the hell of loneliness
So wonderfully plaintiff a sadness so deep . Ladino is a mixture of every place wherever the diaspora went with the Spanish mother tongue. Leaving the Iberian Peninsular to escape torture and death again and again all over the world. It's hard not to Dovin while listening.
