I liked it and the closure it brought. It was just very different than everything else so far... I'm glad we had an opportunity to play as each race to round things out.

I agree with you, I'm a fan since SC1 and BroodWar and I wasn't disappointed with SC2 nor its story. I think it's a great game. Yeah, some inconsistencies here and there but overall, great game.
I still wait for return of UED with all it's might and new tech.

I think this epilogue is direly needed, otherwise 99% of the entire campaign would be a big bunch of BS. The whole "Kerrigan must survive" plot would be pointless without tieing that up, but seeing how this turned out, it is awesome and I share you feeling, this is so cool!
And everyone hate it because "Kerrigan need to survive is pointless as hell!"
I do not understand what is people's problem with the Xel'Naga plot, i think it was all epic, the way it is all tied together.
Those people probably already watched/read similar "epic" plots and weren't expecting StarCraft to follow suit, thinking it would be more unique that way.
Because it went from Starcraft to "Godcraft" which is just utter stupid, could easily just watch Diablos end or something then.
NC Quadraxis which also stupid reason to complain since Xel'Naga is directly mention in the first game by The Overmind and Zeratul and indirectly mention Amon in Brood War

Not the way I expected but surprisingly some of the stuffs I thought would happen actually happened in the LOTV. Like Zeratul would die (not so early though). The leaders of the races meet up with some related entity to beat Amon (turns out it was a Xelnaga itself). Now for the fate of Kerrigan.......
Btw, in the prologue Zeratul already mentions that Duran from the first installment is the same entity as Narud in HOT ;)!
hmm this mission reminds me of the last map in the first advanced wars game for the game boy advanced. That map was fun as hell and i'm glad to say i beat that old game :D

+Trusseck HP Lovecraft does have references to Amon in his work so....Yeah Amon and servants looking like Cthulhu is consistent.
I know I am almost 7 years late to the party but here's my opinion:
I absolutly LOVE missions in which you have allies. Even more so missions like this or the one on Korhal with the hybrids stunning the terrans every now and then in which your allies are not absolutly worthless but also not so overpowered that you could just lay back not doing anything.
7 years late, but Ouros actually was Tassadar from the beginning, going as far back as the first Starcraft. If you think about it, Tassadar back then seemed to know more than he let on

should have used the void rays with +2 range. extra range sometimes serves as extra protection and the aditional beams dont seem to be that powerful

Mwahahaha, when Stukov said "Goodnight, you son of a bitch" and killed him, I fucking clapped out loud! So satisfying, since Duran said "Say goodnight, Stukov" when he killed him in BroodWar.

Listen closely to the music at 3:14 - 4:16 - I swear that's the briefing theme for the Protoss from the first StarCraft
A hint from the future, if your computer has heat problems, a fast fix is to limit the FPS via driver. Also install heatsinks correct, but that's another story :)
The problem all those years ago turned out to be with my power supply, not overheating.
weren't the warp gates "Superior warp gates"? i remember being able to warp in 3 units from each warp gate, maybe it is only for normal or below?

I really enjoyed this. And Im with you, sleep deprivation causes Crankiness and you are right, if you dont like, find something you do like.
And I really enjoyed this experience. Quite touching at times.

in the wings of liberty and heart of the swarm as well as brood wars it was made pretty clear that Kerrigan was supposed to be the one that defeats Amon so i kind of really didn't like the ending of the campaign in legacy of the void (excluding this one here) but loved the heart of the swarm story and personally it is the brood war story line that was sloppy and bad

What happens to hero units? Like Stukov? Do they respawn at the hive / main base like Kerrigan in the HOT campaign? Since the survival of hero characters is not part of the main objectives of the mission.
They definitely respawn, but am not sure from where.

If it's possible to create custom campaign for SC2, is it possible to create remake of first SC here?
There is a mod for Starcraft 2 called Mass Recall that does that

Oh come on. This entire campaign was a generic fantasy plot copy-pasted onto StarCraft, and then someone had the unfortunate job of making it fit with retcons. It had some damn good moments; the first third of the game right up 'til Ulnar and the side-character plots were great. But most of it seemed like they had never even looked at the plot from their own series.
+GrandDracolich Also, 16:08 some other things that don't make sense about this, specifically. Protoss "ghosts" like Tassadar here exist because of the Khala; the Protoss' collective subconscious. Memories and all are basically archived in all the other Protoss. Preservers, for example, have the. They made that quite clear in novels like the Dark Templar saga and with the concept for the Preservers themselves.
So in Wings of Liberty and in here, Zeratul and now the main characters aren't part of the Khala. This "ghost" shouldn't exist. This isn't the writers going out of their way to answer the player's questions, this is them stomping on their existing canon.
Nah man, I'm talking about people that make it clear they hate these games so much that it makes no sense why they still play or follow them at all. They could save themselves the mental anguish by just playing any other game. Saying the retcons are silly is one thing, but the Battle.net Story forums... now that is a dark place of scum and villainy.

That's because the ghost was just Ouros posing as these characters I thought, which means it has nothing to do with the Khala? I may be mistaken and I'm not really an apologist for these games so it's sort of whatever to me either way. If it's actually a blatant mistake by the writers I'm not surprised.

That Zerg unit is a Creeper - I thought it was just a Swarm Host, but the spikes did confuse me (and I'm guessing you), so I searched up the different strains because I forgot what they looked like.
so pretty much what i get from this is the Xel Naga are like the Legion from WoW where as if they get killed somewhere else besides the void, they never truely die and only get beaten temporarily and will return in time unless beaten inside the Void realm itself, pretty much alot of stuff from Warcraft get used in SC2 LoD

If you think this campaign was good you should play War of the Tribes, it's an old fan made sequel for Brood War. Even though it was never finished the writing is far superior to anything in SC2, even though the custom art seriously shows it's age.

If anyone still reads these, can someone clarify the story? So Xel'Naga wanted to merge purity of essence and form (Ouros just said it) which is what the Overmind said in SC1 Original. So what was Amon doing wrong? Forcefully merging them or what? And he wanted to destroy everything? Wasn't that what the cycle was too, destruction and rebirth? Basically, what was Amon doing different from what the Xel Naga wanted
Amon interrupted. He wanted to end the cycle by being the last Xel'naga, replacing them with hybrid (the difference is that hybrid is under his thrall). The xel'naga tried to stop him, as shepherds of the infinite cycle, and succeded, but he survived within the Void

The merging of the form and essence should've happened naturally. What Amon did is that he intentionally looked for the form and essence and uplifted them in the case of the protoss, and as for the zerg, he altered them. With that, he made the mistake of thinking the Protoss were the purity of form as they are incapable of being one with the Zerg naturally as they cannot be assimilated. As for the zerg, the Primal zerg are the purity of essence not the swarm zerg. Surprisingly, if things happened naturally, it would've been the Terrans that will be the Purity of form as seen with Kerrigan, oit of her own free will, approaches the first spawning pool.

I think it would've been better if they kept it kinda vague, like the prophecy was actually a prophecy, and maybe Ouros did something to recover Tassadar's spirit from the Void, but over all, I think Ouros was a necesarry addition for the whole Kerrigan thing.
My only gripe wit star2 story is they try a bit hard on the whole destiny shenanigans when star 1 is more about politics, revenge and honor, more grounded sci-fi elements. This feel too fantasy warcraft. But i accept it after a while, and i dont like the story as much as the first one, but i never hate it, just find it generic and bland

The campaign was good, like you said, at least better than the previous 2, but compared to SC 1 it kinda blows. This is like comparing the Aliens series directed by James Cameron with the later AvP series that targeted 12 year olds, or Terminator 1 and 2 with the later ones.

Terrans in situations like this should always stay back because terran technology is not powerful enough to face dark forces so the more terrans send units the more units terran loses so maybe they should stay back and fire support from behind.. This mission shows it all terrans rush they die and waste war machines (no offense to terran players out there) i'm just pointing out that terrans should stay back in bad situations
In short terrans shouldn't fuck around with gods
