I have never tried it in a oven, but i thing it can be good if you do some small changes to the recipe like adding less oil and add smoke liquid if you like to have the smoke taste. good luck!
Don't want to sound like a hater, but what is the purpose of using onions? You didn't using them in the skewers. Please don't tell me that raw, uncooked onions added flavor to the meat while marinating.
the acid in the onion tenderises the meat.....It also gives it flavor from the juice. In Iran, Barg which is thinly butterflied lamb, is dipped in onion juice right before it hits the flame to tenderize and flavor.

Uyghur is a Turkic clan. They are Karluk turks closely related to the Uzbeks. Uyghurs are East Karluk and Uzbeks are west karluk.
