Always a fan of Ryu, Sandstorm plays him really well.

@@catisreckless4647 he always played the motion heavy characters in FGs, he played Akuma and Ryu in 3S and USF4, also played some tourneys with karin in SFV.

Holy hell, both of these two played out of their minds. It is honestly really cool to see Ryu getting proper representation still.
The announcers tip of grabbing is good. Issue is that if they have fast frame data, and the player has good reactions they can punish you landing. You need a good fast faller to really do that.

Man, Sandstorm did such a great job of neutralizing of the KO punch, that's what kept him (relatively) safe through the set. Took away Peanut's gamechanger. Great commentary on this one too!

You could tell Sandstorm was punishing Peanut’s backroll habit in game 3 really hard. Peanut adjusted towards the end, but he was already at high percent on his last stock.

Looks like Ruy’s only kill option is up B. I think every stock aside from one was from Shoryu.
Don’t forget f smash after focus crumple And tatsu. Back air is also very good. Ryu has numerous kill confirms and the reason why you kept seeing shoryuken is because Ryu can special cancel into it from almost all his attacks. Again, same thing with Tatsumaki.
Tasty wasn’t connecting properly early on but that’s supposed to be another kill option. Back air is also good for kills

Mentioning that something exists and calling it bad doesn't give me any reason to see that something as bad. What I see is that characters have varying strengths and weaknesses. The Shotos aren't ruining the meta by having great shield pressure anymore than the swordies ruin it by having great range.

There was a crap top of times where ryu just hits a shield twice and it falls without it actually breaking like you'd expect from a Marth/Lucina or Jigglypuff. That's just simple jank, it's been prevalent throughout smash for for years. And if you think all the swordies have amazing range, no they really don't. The ones that do can usually only get one shot out before being instantly punished with a 0-death grab spam. Like trying to actually use snake's side smash.
Solid Match. Sandstorm is solid. Commentors were pretty good, still quite a bit of bias against Mac. They said nothing about Peanuts two conversion KOs in the first match and were just rambling through.
Ryu is -.5 to even against Mac. Sandstorm definitely outplayed peanut here.

no its more so the heavy disadvantaage state hes got vs his ok advantage, you really need to play near perfect to not get either alot of damage or dead bc of offstage, itd help but only a bit, aerials would help a bit more too to help with options
