I lived in Hungary for a year and it was total shit, country is beautiful but ppl are really racist, if they hear you speak English even if they understand most of them will act like you are a ghost, they don't care about anything that is not hungarian which is pretty closedminded which is really sad in 21th century.
it's cute and if you run out of things to do in Budapest, worth a visit, but it's largely a tourist trap with kitsch stores selling the same "hand made right here" stuff all over (like "hand carved and let me show you right now!" wooden boxes, but it's pretty and food is good where we ate (twice on the main square). Should have mentioned the Marzipan museum and the Retro Design Museum that is really worth a visit. Along the Danube was pretty sad and empty, but we were there before the real summer tourist storm. Oh, forget about the Japanese garden, mosquitoes and tiny and not worth the walk.
❤
