This song showcases Creeds heavier side and sadly their poppier songs got so famous so fast that it limited the band from creating more of this kind of song because of the demand to keep producing the hits over and over. They had some grit and a little grunginess to their sound that didn't get enough recognition from the mainstream press.
Creed always has the best choruses. With marks riffs, and scotts voice, they got a very big sound. It's almost like hitting the right note to have an uplifting epic inspirational sound like hitting the right note that cause emotion if that makes sense. Hitting the right notes.
You should check out Tremonti. It is the lead guitarist’s (Mark Tremonti) solo band. He is also the lead singer for the band and has awesome gritty vocals. They are a bit heavier. Kind of like if Metallica and Alter Bridge has a child.
Saw their first tour at the Quest in Minneapolis, a club owned by Prince, the sound in that building was the best in Minnesota. The show was incredible. Tremonti is a guitar God!!!
You’re listening to Mark Tremonti on guitars Brian Marshall bass Scott Phillips. Now are in a reunion tour. Creed but those guys are in AlterBridge now too.
A band that made a lot of great songs that were very overshadowed outside its genre (I feel) because they were very religious based in their lyrics, the entire band were very talented. These guys with cruë are what made my music taste when I was young
We called it "post-grunge"... In the same era there was this very interesting band called System of a Down (SOAD), you probably know all about them. If not, "Chop Suey" is the way to get to know them at first... Thanks for the vid!
If you both want to get out of your comfort zones, check out a Brit band called Skindred. A blend of metal, punk and reggae. Roots, Rock, Riot is a good song to start with.
Wow, this brings back memories, I used to have all the Creed cds and listened to them in my car all the time! My son ( who sadly passed 5 years ago) was a teenager then and he was into Slipknot and Static X and Mudvayne and so on and hated Creed with a passion, ha.
You guys really need to check out Alter Bridge if you haven't yet. It is the members of Creed with a different vocalist, Myles Kennedy. Blackbird, Words Darker Than Their Wings, Cry of Achilles, Calm The Fire, Slip to the Void are all good choices
What if by Creed is a great song. I remember when at my aunt and uncle's house for Christmas I would listen to higher and arms wide open and my cousin told me listen to what if is the best track on the human clay and he was right. If watch the movie Scream3 what if by Creed is playing in the beginning of the film.
I liked this album really quick, not only the hits, but also Beautiful and Wrong way ... there's one little thing, that always disturbed me in What if, it's the fact, that he sang the words What if a couple times too often, that's why I always faded out of this song ... but I liked the video :-) .... and as quick as I liked this album I never bought another one of Creed :-(
I love ❤️ Creed, you should do Bullets, My Own Prison, Torn, What’s This Life For, One and One Last Breath! I saw them in concert during The Weathered Tour and there shows were fantastic! The singer singer Scott Stapp still sings these songs along with his solo music 🎶 he sounds just as good today and he’s in shape and still killing it! I recommend songs off his new album from Space Between The Shadows, listen to Purpose For Pain, Survivior and Gone Too Soon! I have nothing but respect for all the Creed members and the music 🎶 they are all doing but I’d love ❤️ to have a new Creed album and tour, I hope down the road we do🤟🥰Thanks for showing Creed some love and this song What If was on the soundtrack to Scream 3 first song!
The Opening Guitar Intro is Strongly Reminiscent of The Rolling Stones " Paint it Black " Interesting....See for Yourself I enjoyed the Grunge Era Very Much Nirvana , The Screaming Trees.... It took me a while to warm up to Post Grunge material of which Creed is a prime example. This is a Fine Track.... Intense , Kick Ass take no Prisoners Stuff 😆😁😆
Have'nt heard this in ages - heavy, gritty and groovy. Somehow it made me think of Rage Against The Machine, which sent me down memory lane to the biggest festival here in Denmark, where I saw Rage back in the mid '90'ties: Bombtrack Killing In The Name Of, Take The Power Back, Bullet In The Head and Know Your Enemy - might you give them a listen one of those days?!? ...
I would love to hear you react to When You Love a Woman (the official1996 music video) by Journey; Steve Perry has one of the most gorgeous voices ever. Also his solo song Foolish Heart is beautiful. Journey has so many hits, lots are higher energy/intensity than these 2 but you are really missing something special if you've never heard When You Love a Woman.
Thanks for the suggestion - I absolutely love Journey; they are a huge part of my upbringing. We will be doing some of their work, guaranteed! :) - Lex
The same band has a new singer now and go by the name of Alter Bridge. Since you don't really do live videos currently, you should really check out their song "Blackbird" off of the album of the same name. When you DO actually do live songs check out their live recording of Words Darker Than Their Wings - Live from the Royal Albert Hall". Guitarist Mark Tremonti also has a solo group, named Tremonti. You should check that out too and for that I'd suggest the song "A Dying Machine" which is off his newest album by the same name. Thanks!
Man I listened to Creed a lot back in the day. They were great, but unfortunately got the Nickelback treatment before Nickelback. Their poppy songs became popular and they became a bit of a meme, but the rest of their catalogue (including this song) were much better than those singles. The guitarist Mark Tremonti is now in the band Alter Bridge which you should definitely check out if you haven't already. He's a great guitarist that flew under the radar in this band.
Mark Tremonti is amazing. I do like Alter Bridge but I prefer Mark’s solo band Tremonti. If you haven’t heard them you definitely should check them out. It’s heavier than Alter Bridge. Kind of like if you mixed Metallica with Alter Bridge. Mark is also the lead singer and has some amazing gritty type vocals.
@@sharilynbratton6476 Tantric had an entirely different lead singer (Hugo Ferreira), but the rest of the band, iirc, was all from Days of the New. Tantric formed after the band grew tired of Travis Meeks' (Days of the New lead singer) shenanigans and when he fell into hard drugs.
@@Chozo_Ghost Yes you're right, I looked it up right after I left that comment but was too lazy to go back and amend it, ha. Thanks for putting out the info!
I could give the first dislike, but I won't, because Creed is that good. A reaction and this guy's lack of Creed knowledge won't give me a dislike. It's called Higher. The movie is called Titan A.E.

Marks always been a great guitarist. Pity for a dime was one of my personal favorites
Also a Great Song writer.
Mark's a huge Dimebag fan. He got hes shirt in some of theyr live performances
Creed always has the best choruses. With marks riffs, and scotts voice, they got a very big sound. It's almost like hitting the right note to have an uplifting epic inspirational sound like hitting the right note that cause emotion if that makes sense. Hitting the right notes.
Creed has had their share of drama and criticism, but they can kick some serious ass and write some great songs.
I TOTALLY AGREE! Thanks for your support! - Lex
Such a massive song. I’ve recently been revisiting creed. It’s incredible what they were able to do.
You should check out Tremonti. It is the lead guitarist’s (Mark Tremonti) solo band. He is also the lead singer for the band and has awesome gritty vocals. They are a bit heavier. Kind of like if Metallica and Alter Bridge has a child.
Bro I wish I could capture the feeling of listing to creed for the first time it was magical
Saw their first tour at the Quest in Minneapolis, a club owned by Prince, the sound in that building was the best in Minnesota. The show was incredible. Tremonti is a guitar God!!!
Nice! Creed is the one band I know that didnt have a bad album. All four are of pretty good quality. Faceless Man is my favourite Creed song.
Takes me back in time.. one my favorite bands in the late 90s early 2000's.
You’re listening to Mark Tremonti on guitars Brian Marshall bass Scott Phillips. Now are in a reunion tour. Creed but those guys are in AlterBridge now too.
Creed’s first album was very cool. This off the 2nd album. One of a couple good songs from that one as well as Higher
Second album had lots of great songs.
Human clay was actually a hidden masterpiece for this genre..
Inside us all👌
If you haven't had the privilege of seeing them perform live, you're missing out! 💯💯💯
Awesome song!! What if!! What if!!

Thank you, Lex. Excellent choice! Creed has had a problem with their image, but this album was incredible. Godspeed.
loads of thanks for reacting to this. it's one of my favourite songs [el'sda2].
I like it when you take turns. More Lex picks!!
Please also react to Ode, Bullets, Who's Got My Back Now, and Sister by Creed. These songs will lower the sonic boom on you. #hiddengems
Excellent choice. This is by far my favorite Creed song
Check out "In America", "Sister" and "One" from their debut album My Own Prison.
If you both want to get out of your comfort zones, check out a Brit band called Skindred. A blend of metal, punk and reggae. Roots, Rock, Riot is a good song to start with.
I still remember trying to learn the bridge part of this song when I first started playing bass and how hard that rhythm is to maintain
Wow, this brings back memories, I used to have all the Creed cds and listened to them in my car all the time! My son ( who sadly passed 5 years ago) was a teenager then and he was into Slipknot and Static X and Mudvayne and so on and hated Creed with a passion, ha.
Sorry about your loss, sending peace to you and your family. It means a lot that you shared this with us. Thanks for your support, Lex :)
great band if you haven’t already check out Tremontis solo stuff . it’s really good also and more straight metal

I loved this reaction because I love this song. To me it's there absolute best.

Finally a reaction video that has the full beginning of the song. Such a great little clean intro
Hope you enjoyed it!
More Creed!! All you need to know! ❤❤
This song was made for the movie "scream 3" . It was played in the begging when cotton gets killed.
Yep...and the official music video contains clips from the movie.
Creed could kick ass with the best of them
So many say nothing about Mark’s writing as he is a Great Songwriter! And Mark uses a Wampler custom Wah in man of his licks.
The guitars are split left and right the left half is playing the solo parts and the right is playing the rhythm parts
I love playing this one on my guitar
AlterBridge has 3 members from this band

I love creed and this song on scream 3.

Now they are AlterBridge with a new lead singer.
This songs from scream 3 but it's still awesome
Symphony X - When All is Lost 🙏

Alter Bridge IS Creed. Same members.. just with awesome guitar solos and a different vocalist (Miles Kennedy) who can also play guitar VERY well.
You should react to baby metat KARATE
I never heard this creed song
This is a genex anthem
If you like Creed, then you'll like the following; Shinedown, Seether and Alter Bridge.
Check out The Down Town by Days of the New from their first album (self titled I believe)
Great Stuff 👍
Thanks for the suggestion; we'll check it out! :) - Lex
I love Days of the New! Didn't the lead singer move on to form Tantric? Guess they fell by the wayside too.
Yeah, it was something to that extent but never really felt the same about Tantric as I did Days of the New

LOVE Rodrigo y Gabriela! They are on our list and were actually going to do some this week - thanks for the suggestion!
Great?😊❤
Did your dad like The James Gang?
Going to see him today so I'll ask him -- I'm sure he did!
I cant people are still doing reaction videos to this
This song was used on a Scream movie from the original franchise
I'm very close to certain that Mark finds it very difficult to write a bad riff.
I could give the first dislike, but I won't, because Creed is that good. A reaction and this guy's lack of Creed knowledge won't give me a dislike. It's called Higher.
The movie is called Titan A.E.
Creed became big when the first "Scream" movie.
While I do enjoy a good guitar solo, this song was just so heavy and badass, it didn't need a long frivolous ego driven guitar solo.
