Still makes me cry
RIP Carl Grimes. Such a legend. Gone, but never forgotten. Miss you big man
Even in the middle of all that.. He was helping a stranger..
May your mercy prevail, over your wrath.
Action Jackson those are ricks words ❤️
Super catchy melody but absolutely freaking BRILLIANT lyrics. I'm so hooked on this song. Thank you TWD!
I can't believe how many people discovered this classic cause of TWD.
Carls death had me crying i swear
Twd and Mac miller is the reason why I listen
No cap need haha
@@ninjasaiyan317 weirdly I didn't cry
Carl's death genuinely brought a tear to my eye 😥😢
That last line hits your heart like a brick...
no ....its a good thing ...i find it uplifting - death of desire and ego i find comforting
Nah it makes me feel nice
This entire song hits my heart like a brick
This whole song hits your heart like a brick...
Play this to a walking dead fan and watch them burst into tears. I'm one of them. RIP Carl
Same here! R.I.P Carl
I've heard this song on the walking dead when Carl died, or at the start of the episode. But i love how much the song reminds me OF him, Not just cuz it was played in the Episode, Mostly because some of the lyrics just remind me of him. "While my mother waters plants, my father loads his gun" It makes me thing of Carl being in the garden with Rick and lori. Lori is watering the plats and rick is loading some guns
I thought this too! I found it to be beautiful
This song is very sad yet cheerful. First time I heard it, it brought tears to my eyes ...
this song is one of those songs you sing together while drinking at a bar at the end of the world :)
Dannyisgreatful yess
Funny you say that
"I forgot who I was, you made me remember. I remember that feeling walking with you that day, like I finally knew who I was for the first time in my life. The thing is, we were walking side by side but you were bringing me somewhere. Bringing me here, bringing all of us to the new world, Carl."
Great song. Never heard of this band until TWD. That said i dig the vocals and simple guitar. Lead vocal reminds me of the violent femmes. Awesome lyric
Very much of our times!
OH GOSH THIS SONG REMIND ME CARL ( R.I.P Carl,, my tears just falling when i listen to this) THE WALKING DEAD FANS WHERE ARE YOU DECEMBER 2018
Here!!
R.I.P Carl.. 😭💙
@@kittenmuttz8492 😭😭😭😭😭😭
We LOVE & miss you Carl Grimes! Peace forever brother!😢✌🌹
When i hear this song, and I'm thinking of Carl from The Walking Dead, i just gotta yell a 'bull shit'.
Rest in peace Carl my little sheriff 😭
This is truly a great song.
One of the best songs with the best lyrics EVER written! TBH, Bright Eyes has quite a few songs that fall into that category! Timeless, classic, amazing music! I'm happy to have grown up with it !
Then you might like some songs from the 60s and 70s too, like "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" , " The Games People Play" by Joe South. And a song by ( I hope I'm right) the Spinners, called " Back Stabbers", as in each generation who lives, these songs, and many others, are the messages these artists are trying to send to us about how some might treat each other!!!!!
Sad meaning but with an upbeat tone. RIP Carl
This song is so sad...
(TWD)
In every step I take
My lungs shake, consume the fear in
How come did we get here?
From the place where feelings shiver
You didn't have to go, my darling
To a place 12750 km far
I can live with the cold
When every you is in me
Consuming the air I breathe
Every time I take one more step
The abyss shows even more interest
I lost every trace leads to you
No more sound of your voice leads me through
The numbness start to shake
So warm like the sun
Prince of the nordic inside
Will you stay there forever?
Not because I won't wait
It's just so hard to take
R.I.P. CARL GRIMES
I love this song very very very very very very very much

Daisie Vibes R.I.P. CARL
Daisie Vibes I agree
yeah I'm one of those who discovered this from the walking dead, but wow such a beautiful song.. wish Id've found it sooner
Same here! Missing Carl too much!
"We must memorize nine numbers and deny we have a soul".
Social security number and straw-man. This artist may be awake.
The wait is worth it 😭
This song is so sad and I don't completely agree with its meaning but oh my god how much I love it.
Then you would understand some songs from the 60s and 70s, such as " Walk a Mile in My Shoes" , The Games People Play " by Joe South. Also a black group with a song called "Back Stabbers" all similar in studying different generations and how they react to the bs in our society. If only Everyone would listen to these messages in these songs, we might just become better human beings!!!!! God knows we need it.
One of the greatest intros i've heard !!! :)
the most amazing song ive ever heard.
Walking Dead brought me here ♥ RIP ~Name Redacted~ for those who haven't seen tonight's episode.

I've listens to Bright eyes since their Beginning
I am so happy I stumbled across this song. Beautiful
If some of you guys are new to Brighteyes, you gotta check out Fevers and mirrors. It blew my mind so many years ago. I heard it on a college radio station I picked up and recorded it onto a cassette tape which I wore out very quick. It's a great album. Then, I was a huge fan of TWD and that song came on at such a sad moment, truly heart breaking, beautiful
calls out the cowardly denial of our modern society, while at the same time remaining inspiring ... "and in the ear of every anarchist who sleeps but doesn't dream, we must sing, we must sing, we must sing."
We love you carl
Quickest bit of foreshadowing, when it's on paper, happening so far you recognize no resemblance, it seems pretty boring. Then it happens to you one day.
Never thought about that. Fucking conor the mad lad is a genius
in season 8 of the walking dead when this song played i couldn’t believe it, it was my favorite song and i still listen to it till this day thank you for bringing this song back 🤧💔
I want this song played at my funeral
This really puts life into perspective
So simple
This song just makes me want to go back to when times were simpler..no guns, no arguments.. just pure love. Like if you agree ♥️☺️
Wdym when times were simpler? are you from the middle ages or something?
If this isn't playing at my funeral I'm not going
Awesome song
Gosh, thankyou so much for posting this, it's so beautiful, and I cry everytime I hear this.
when you actually listen to the lyrics it’s so beautiful and poetic.
Carl Grimes, gone but not forgotten
I'm here cos I was a 7th grader in 2004 when I first heard this song on subterranean on MTV, and the dive on fuse
as an anarchist who doesn’t sleep, but still dreams, you can still sing to me.
Honestly prefer this to the music video
lot24 reading along is always best
I started singing this in the car, just out of nowhere after a few years of not thinking about it. I've loved this song since it came out. Still gets to me. Seems appropriate, now. Like, we're all on the plane together. I'm 36. I've never given a second thought to ANY previous anything. I went outside to check out the Dayton tornados. Ate burgers during mad cow, carnitas for swine flu. I can see the world falling apart over this. Forgot about walking dead. Let's hope it's not that bad, lol.
this always makes me cry
Such a cleansing cry, though, yeah? I love this song so much
People realise that when he si gs "while ny Mother waters plants my Dather loads his gun" he is talking about mother nature and father time right? I thought that was pretty obvious.
alchemic mercury I actually did not know lol thank you
