Thanks bro, really helpful, appreciate it. Not many video about installing simscape in youtube, which counters the error "access denied", it's 2020, and your video is still useful thanks a lot bro
Thank you Professor Parker and Jacob and Maya!!! Excellent video! It's 2022 and I got it to work with 2021b Matlab and 2021 SOLIDWORKS. It doesn't appear that comments are being replied to here by MTU. I see that Mohammed Aliff asked about the followup video. I don't think they exist atleast not as intended. There are (3) additional videos about Simscape from Professor Gordon that are helpful. They are videos about Simscape and not about Solidworks to Simscape from what I can tell.
I had a problem with the install_addon('smlink.r201...win64.zip') because I wasn't running MATLAB as an administrator. Thanks for the video. It was very useful.
I tried to add a Windshield wiper (it's a complex mechanism of course) I did smimport('xxx') but Matlab shows me " unknown exception" what shall I do ?
Hello! I recently encountered a problem! My matlab version is R2018b. I installed the Simscape Multibody successfully. But once I use the function ' smimport' or 'mech_import', it will display the following problem ' 'smimport' requires Simscape Multibody.' But indeed I had installed it successfully. So could you help me to solve this problem?
Hi Prof. Gordon ,thank you for your help ,but i do have a problem ,although i did all the step ,i still cant have a xml extension in solidwork 2015 ,i have matlab 2018a ,can you help me please thanks for advance
Could you refer to this site for your reference? www.myphysicslab.com/pendulum/pendulum-en.html There are many more complicated prototypes on that site. This could help you with your question. In my case, driving the final dynamic equation is so painful so I try to use maxima for automatic driving and it is fantastic.
Hi Prof. Gordon, thanks for the extremely helpful video about Simscape and Solidworks. However, I am having problem in simulating the CAD assembly in Simscape, I can't see my solid body in the simulation window though I can see the CoM icons and references. There are no error messages either. I would really appreciate if you know about this problem. Thanks in advance.
Hi Gordon, Your videos are very good and self explanatory. I am facing a problem with solidworks to simulink imported model. The Simmechanics Imported model is continuously moving without any given actuation. What will be the possible solution, so that it cannot move without given actuation.
Hi Professor, this is a really helpful video but... what about the next steps? I've been looking through your channel but haven't found anything. I have several doubts and I would be very grateful if you could help me. Thanks.
Gordon, I'm using solidworks 2012, my computer is 32bit, matlab 2015b i have followed the instruction 3 times, but the link doesn't appear in solidworks 2012 is it possible to have simmechanics link in solidworks 2012, but the matlab is matlab 2015b?

Thank you so much for this. Literally a problem I was facing for a month and more is solved for good now! Thank you again
Sir, thank you very much for your works and your channel helps me to get a significant understanding for further design analysis
One of the best tutorials ever

Professor Gordon has almost 100 videos about Systems and Controls. Tremendous body of work!
I had a problem with the install_addon('smlink.r201...win64.zip') because I wasn't running MATLAB as an administrator.
Thanks for the video. It was very useful.
thank you i had the same issue
thank you. I have same problem, I have took for 3 day to solve it until reading this comment.
same here jajajaja its a common mistake i think so
Hi Manuel, how do you run MATLAB as an administrator? I'm having trouble with install_addon
Thank you very much for this video. It's very well explained.
thank you thank you thank you very much you deserve a medal for that work thank you again :)
Thank you for sharing this video sir, it's very helpful.

Your video is really helpful. Thank for sharing this :)
Thank you professor for the help
Thank you very much...you are amazing man
Very good put I have tried to relate Matlab 2015a with 2016 Solidwork put giving error when importing?
Thanks a lot, I couldnt understand what was happen 👍
Thank you so much! your video was really useful.
Error using install_addon (line 20)
Archive smlink.r2015a.win64 does not exist.
Installation failed.
can anyone help me about this problem
please prof Gordon in my solidworks sim mechanics link i dont have export for choses first or secend génertion
Have you ever tried it for very complicated SolidWorks models? I was wondering if Matlab can handle that.
Hello, I am using Solidworks 2018 and while exporting the file I am not getting the second generation option. how to rectify this?
thanks for the sharing this video. where can I find the next session of this tutorial?
Did you find ? Please share
What if SimMechanics Link does not appear in my SolidWorks Add-ins? How can I get it?
Thanks you so much for this videos it helped me a lot
Thank you very much this video is very useful for me :)

Can you show how to find equation of motion , other dynamic values of manipulators?

What the difference between matlab first generation and second generation? That's for the a or b series?

Thank you very much. I feel like better engineer now.

Thank you very much !
i can't open the xml file from sw2015 on matlab 2018a .... it keels telling me ( 'Assem1.xml' is an invalid option)...what's the reason of that
install_addon is shown as undefined function in matlab in my pc.
what should i do?
you probably either haven't downloaded the model or have saved it in some other folder.
download correct model and if needed use .zip at the end of the file name!
Still have problems with that?
Have you tried adding the folder to the MatLab path and then install the addon?
Thank you so much sir.
Helped me
Thank you so much
hı ı ım done full steps but ı don t see this solid works matter in the matlab .I see just grey screeen can you hepl me
Anyone help! I have a same problem!
