I recently saw Tom's interview. He said Howard was one of the few he admired most in his life, & that the respect is mutual.

A better interviewer (in his prime) than Larry King could ever be. Larry King goofs on stern for having writers. Larry King definitely had writers. King interviewed people he knew nothing about and it was painfully obvious when he would interview them. All he had were notes from his researchers and writers.
