Way cool to see and hear Devin’s side of the story. I have motoculted my H250 #854 with stage 4 plus, as well as headlight and tail light assy. The bike looks even more awesome now and rides like a real 250 should! Thanks to the folks at Janus, and Motocult, for bringing to reality the real spirit of 2 wheels, all over again!
I wish I would’ve recorded more, I probably should’ve just turned the camera on as soon as I walked in the door and let it roll as we talked well over an hour.
How Cool Uncle VooDoo. That is one slick bike in front of you guys and the pannier bags and seat are to die for. You don't see quality leather products anymore like those. Probably 10 grand sitting there.
Interesting tidbit on the bags.... I got one of the little roll top bags (bag in front of the panniers) to hold my 2 fuel bottles, Devin said he specifically designed that bag to carry 2 bottles of wine. Shows our priorities I guess!
He was one of the two guys who started it all, and basically he was the mechanical brains of the operation. I cant talk about why he left, but I'll say he felt the need to go his own way once all the design and manufacturing process was set and the sales and marketing became the focus of the company. We talked a lot and I wish I could've gotten more footage, as it was kind of cool to pick the brains of the guy who designed and built the bike.
I wanted to get more into his moped repair shop experience leading up to Janus but he seemed to want to avoid talking about it too much, I assume due to not wanting to air grievances with his split from Motion Left and Janus so I didn't press him. So we just kept it to a brief talk about his introduction to bikes. Plus I was only there to snag a part and he was heading out of town so this was something we did impromptu as we were both heading out the door.
@@UncleVoodoo Jobu is fortunate to have hair! I have to open my shirt If I want the wind to blow threw my hair. Cooled off quick in Vegas. Jackets and heavier gloves came out.

Great interview, Tom. I wonder why he left Janus? He was critical in the making of the brand.

Well, that ended quickly....
