4 years later everyone has a mewtwo and it's no longer special and unknown was in raids which is how I got my first unknown because I live in a small "village" and rarely go to towns or cities

The 100% catch rate on top of 50 balls is BULLSHIT. Nobody was excited or anxious to catch it because they knew they would catch it no matter what. Please Niantic stop with the 100% catch rate bullshit for events. Honestly it would have been really cool if it had been a 1 or 2% catch rate with the 50 premiere balls. That way its hard to catch but people will most likely get it because of how many tries they have. Imagine the feeling of throwing 45 balls at a Mewtwo and failing but on the 46th you catch it successfully. IMO that would be way more fun than knowing you don't even have to worry about it

Everyone read this please: It's an event. That's like if you're a football fan, saying it's unfair that everyone who watches American football can't go to the Super Bowl. If you're not at the Super Bowl, you don't watch the game in person. But you still get to watch it via TV. We will get Mewtwo, just not at the event earlier in Japan. Everyone who didn't get to go the event might be annoyed by that fact, and by human nature, we should be a bit jealous... but that is not a legitimate reason to hate the people who got the chance to attend because they had the time or money. Not attending the event did not lessen our Pokemon Go experience. It helps us because we get to see what to expect when Mewtwo is released, and gain insight from Nick as well as other content creators.

I also have zero. Lvl 34 and no one to raid with. My options are to spoof or quit. I've decided to quit, because I've gotten to the point where I don't care enough to spoof.
The 100% Catch rate is actually ridiculous
Here are my top 11 suggestions (in no specific order) for Pokemon Go:
1. RAID EGGS: the eggs gave every one in the area a sense of when they should show up for the raid - when the egg hatches - which makes it much easier to defeat the raid boss
2. BERRY FARMS: allow players to create their own berry farms in an area of their choice (probably their house), where they can plant berries to grow more (this also means berries would no longer drop from pokestops) - this gives the player something to do at home
3. POKEMON CENTERS: turn some pokestops into pokemon centers, which can serve as a place to meet up with other players, trade, battle and most importantly, heal pokemon - there should only be a couple pokemon centers in a town though, even fewer than gyms
4. TRADING: allow players to trade with others within a certain radius, but only for pokemon already caught and registered in their pokedex - because otherwise, it would be overpowered
5. PVP: this system should be similar to that of clash royale, in which you go head to head with others similar to your level online to get higher ranks and other rewards, including xp, stardust, pokecoins, revives and potions - with this would have to come a new battling system, and the main series battling system would work, but doesn't seem likely
6. LARGER RAID MAP: the raid map must be much larger, so as to allow players to see more raids
7. SOCIAL: players should be able to add friends with whom they can trade, battle and chat (this also allows for coordinating raids)
8. NPCs: there should be NPCs present throughout the map who will challenge you to battles if you walk near them, similar to in the main series pokemon games
9. GETTING RID OF CP: CP should be removed altogether and in its place should be the levels which are already present in the game, represented by stardust costs - this will cause more pokemon to be used in battle, and not only those who get the highest CP, and will force players to make more strategic decisions on which pokemon to use
10. FOOTPRINT TRACKING: the exact same as the original tracking system, but only present for extremely rare pokemon - because it is too easy to just walk to a specific location already given to you and catch a rare pokemon
11. BUDDIES WALK WITH YOU - your selected buddy pokemon should be seen walking alongside to you, similar to in pokemon heartgold and soulsilver

Lol how's berry farm a good idea? if you wanna play pretend-farm go play farmville on facebook. In all pokemon game i've played, from that ancient gameboy, I'VE NEVER THOUGHT OF FARMING BERRIES AND NEVER GET TO. I did get to pluck berries from trees though, which you can from stops.

Nope you do not need to be rich or privileged. You just need to know which gyms host Mewtwo raids and make sure you raid there as often as possible. You'll get one eventually. I've gotten two EX raid passes without spending anything more than the free raid passes and Poke coins that are earned in-game.

If you know anything about the Pokémon games, you would know that a lot of event Pokémon are just given out for free if you attend the events. You will get the chance to capture Mewtwo in the near future, so stop crying about it.

prizzom I live in a town of 10000 people with about 20 Pokémon trainers. I got about 10 of each legendary. Apart from the birds as I only got into the group a few days before they left so I only got a few of them

Tim Legdeur I live in a TINY town. I have 2 gyms in the whole town, and there are plenty of days where I never see a raid. But, I have seen every legendary out so far, and only actually caught a Zapdos. I managed to see 3 Moltres, 4 Articuno, 3 zapdos, and one lugia.
I still was at Tokyo at that time. I really should have made that short trip to Yokohama on that day...

I haven't beaten a single legendary raid, nor any raid over level 3 for that matter. Nobody I know plays this game anymore and for niantic to make you rely on other people to catch the best pokemon makes this game virtually unplayable for me.
This is so elitist it hurts. Basically if you live in an area with more gyms, are able to spend money on the game and/or don't work a 9-5 (Bare in mind raids stop at 8pm local time on average) you are far more likely to get a mewtwo. Basically mewtwo will cost you money if you want a chance of getting it. I bet I end up getting an invite in the middle of the day during the week. Normal people have jobs and can't afford to spend 100s on the game. Such a rubbish idea driven by profit!
+General Iroh Not really pay to win. its just chance of where you live. if anything. the ones paying are companies to be sponsored by pokemon go. Japan of course would be the place to do it. no other country would do so much sponsorship on a pokemon game cause its not as big as it is in japan.

If you do free raid passes you get 1 chance of getting mewtwo. Those who drive around in a car hitting raids repeatedly get 20 chances a day. Not to mention the extra high IV rare pokemon and rare candies.
But Pokemon Go isn't meant for everybody. It's not the average mobile game you can just play at home, it's an augmented reality game. Since it's based off of reality, of course there will be a LOT of limitations. I don't get to travel to parks and universities a lot because I don't want to pay for a lot of gas, but I don't complain because that's how reality is. I still really like Pokemon Go for what it is even though I don't even have a lot of Pokemon.

I don't understand how i see so many comments of people complaining about raids because they can't get enough people together. Go on Facebook. Search the "Groups" category. Type in *name of nearest city to you* and *Pokemon Go*. BAM a facebook group filled with people from all over your area. Now you just pick out a few who have similar schedules to you and easy. So you don't have Facebook? Download Discord. Use discord in the same fashion. There are various ways in which you can implement your basic social skills to achieve a mere 10 man raid. If raids are properly coordinated they can take no more than 15-20 minutes to fully complete and catch. This is how the game was meant to be played and Niantic are taking this game in a good direction. If you are someone who seeks instant gratification then this game is not for you. If you are someone who likes to game alone then this game is not for you. If you are someone who likes to play at home then this game is not for you. I don't mean to hate or tell anyone what they can or cannot do, but people who complain without putting in effort cannot be the only voices being heard.

I don't have it as bad as some in that my town actually had a surprising number of pokestops. The problem is that there's almost no one playing anymore so all of these raids that require a large group are basically a waste of time. I've seen all 3 legendary birds come and go and I've not once attempted to battle any of them because I'd be wasting my time, potions, and raid passes.
I'd much prefer they remove the time limit from raids and allow you to take down the legendaries through sheer force of will and determination. It'd make higher level raids do-able for individuals, whilst still offering an incentive to battle in a group to save time/Pokemon/items.
you should really be checking for raid groups on social media. If you haven't already.
