Super nostalgic. Can't get over the fact it's been over 10 years since the original playtrough. It's also just how I remember the original looking in my head. I hope they do a DS2 Remake and then a whole new DS3. The series deserves a comeback.
I went back a few years ago and replayed the OG on PC, and while it doesn't look anywhere near this good (like it does in my head too), it looks pretty damn good for the year it came out.
ngl this made me a little emotional. Your original playthrough was the first series I got into after discovering you through TB and the TGS podcast. I've had "blue is in the goo" and the elevator song living rent free in my head since then. Good times ;')

They've done an amazing job with the remake. Honestly, as much as I liked silent Issac, giving him a voice I think really helped enhance the story since it meant he played a more active role in his own survival versus just being told to "go do this" or "go activate that."
I'm just gonna re-watch all three games after this. The nostalgia hits so hard. Love your content jesse, been watching since The Day Deathwing Came questline.

It's funny how one of the first jesse LP series I watched years ago was dead space, now all these years later I will still happily watch him play the remake.

So glad to have this remake playthrough! I watched the original Dead Space trilogy playthroughs multiple times. The Peng jokes and the elevator song in the original game are classics.
A lot of things have changed over the years but watching Jesse play Dead Space is just as fun as I remember.

This might be a weird place to say this, but after 12 years of watching you play games (yes, I feel old too), it's hard to believe how you've barely changed at all. The Jesse I subbed for all those years ago is still the same Jesse to this day, maybe even better. I go back to your old LPs on occasion and the original DS is one that I love. This video just brought back a lot of memories and made me sentimental. Thanks for being you, Jesse.

Everything i have, everything, is for this single playthrough. Thankyou to the developers and Jesse for the next hour long playthroughs. Wish i could watch live, for the eventual jump scare that is voice/video messages.
You know what I love about this second play through? It’s not about being scared anymore, it’s about enjoying a game you love made by people that loved it~ Jesse’s playthrough is unique now because he’s right! Isaac’s a guy, doing his job, and that’s how Jesse plays! I love that!

5:00 While most of the cast has changed, Isaac and Nicole are played by the actors who played them from Dead Space 2 and 3. While I cannot 100% confirm this, it seems the change to Issac's character model was done so he more closely resembled his voice actor. I THINK this was also done for Nicole or it was done so she resembled more her Dead Space 2 appearance then the original.
I'm gonna binge and rewatch Jesse playing this until and likely after completion. While there's many others still who are done with it I personally feel they don't breathe the life into it like Jesse does. He's beyond personable and I'm never bored with him.
This brings me so much joy. I remember going and buying the first game because of the last series, and Jesse's superb improv timing on "I'm not a Japanese Schoolgirl!"

I am having so much nostalgia the first time in the elevator I was disappointed there was no elevator song, then in the maintenance bay I was smiling from ear to ear, I so glad you finished the song though got worried you were not when you got out before "it's the elevator song" I love what you do Jesse and seeing you play dead space again 👌. Also I wonder why you are doing multiple saves 😉

Yess! I finally found your playthrough of this. I needed our Jesse to make it feel like a true Dead Space playthrough.
I do like the change to Isaac having a voice. They really made sure to make him sound like the engineer he's supposed to be, with having him be the one that suggested going towards the tethers to slow the crashing ship down, along with other lines later on. It just feels more right coming from him as that's HIS job.
I just beat this about 20 minutes ago and I was gushing at how amazing the game looks, how fluid the dialog between characters feels and the sense of encouragement to go and explore the ship for every drop of loot possible. I seriously hope this gives the major push to revive this series and give it the love the community wants.
Ah it's like being back in the good old days. Watched the old Dead Space playthrough a few times over the years and loved it so I can't wait for this!

This is a wonderful throw back. The only thing that will top this is when world of warcraft cataclysm classic beta comes out and you go replay the day deathwing came and explore the remade world again as much as it wont be the same as originally.
This brings back so many amazing memories. Will be watching this playthrough with the same excitement as the kid from 10 years ago.

Man, the very first Jesse video I saw was Dead Space 1. I was just scrolling through RUclips and the first episode was only a couple hours old. Still my favorite let's player ever, friend.

If it ain't broke... In regards to the fire extinguisher: If you have a fire on board a ship in space with no gravity, what would you use? Fire and water don't act the same in low gravity. Water sticks to surfaces, and fire becomes a ball that follows air to its source. Can't use sand or powder in low gravity either. It'll just spread everywhere else. Foam is more effective. If it works, use it. Also, there is a vid out there that explains fire and water in low gravity. Real neat watch.

I only just found out about this channel- I had been wondering why Jesse didn't upload anything on the new Dead Space considering his "history" with it. So glad I found this channel!!!!
One of the biggest things that Dead Space makes clear is that nobody would want to work on ships like that anyways lol.
