With this assignment handed down from Akio, driver Ryo and co-driver Tomikawa began working toward competing in the Rally Challenge. With the full cooperation of President Ogura of Ogura Clutch, the two 50-ish year-old guys underwent a 180-day challenge, taking lessons from Toyota Times regular Sasaki and learning both the appeal and the difficulty of completing a rally.
