thats a very cool design and motor fits perfectly, i have a brompton and would love to buy that motor kit, does anyone sell in the uk with a legal for flying battery
Hi Nicole, as long as you had a spare front wheel, you could switch it in, remove the bag containing the battery, and ride your Brompton without the additional weight. You would need to secure any dangling cables with zip ties. Best - Jack
Nice setup... it would be perfect for me. Currently, I own a Montague Fokding Paratrooper which is quite cumbersome trying to take on public transit especially being a disabled Veteran trying to make around 10 doctor appointments a month. What's the price for this fully assembled?
I have a question on the battery pack. Is there a kit that can be used to power other items, like a laptop or or phone, and be rechargeable through solar panels?
Hi +FoxRay, you can charge an electric bike with solar panels as long as you can figure out how attach the batteries to a receptor correctly. We don't sell the components needed to do this, but I'm sure you could find information from people who have done this successfully. You could also hook up mobile devices to the battery using the correct type of "voltage converter" (in this case 36v to whatever your mobile device accepts). We do not sell this type of converter here, you might have to build it yourself, but it is definitely possible. - Jack
NYCeWheels is it posible to recharge it while you pedaling on your own without using of electromotor? and second question is how much would cost shipment to europe?
This model does not offer regenerative pedaling, but other models like the Stromer electric bike do. Unfortunately we cannot ship bikes internationally! Do you have a friend in the states you could arrange shipping for you? - Jack
could you explain, why you're using a front hub motor? I hear everywhere that those are the worst and most unpopular of the three options there are for an electric bike. Would love to get your input on this!
Hi, good questions. The Brompton bike uses a 3 speed internal hub on the rear wheel which makes it incompatible with all of our rear wheel conversion kits like the bionX (www.nycewheels.com/bionxs350-x-electricbike-motorkit.html) for example. For this particular bike, the front wheel kit works the best, and we have had positive results with it. Having extra weight on the front wheel actually helps to stabilize bikes with smaller wheels, so in a certain sense it is an advantage. - Jack
Hi Peter. A few questions: Can the electric kit be added to a 2012 Brompton M6L? How much weight does the battery add? Can the battery fit in a Mini Waterproof Ortlieb O-Bag? How much does the kit + installation cost?
The electric kit can absolutely be added to a 2012 M6L. Technically this kit is compatible with any brompton bike, but it works best with 3 and 6 speed models. The battery is too large to fit inside the Mini-O- bag, typically the C, S, or T bags are used. The battery and motor add around 18 lbs to the bike. Your M6L would weigh around 43 lbs with the electric kit installed. Here is a link where you can view the price of the kit. This number includes installation: www.nycewheels.com/brompton-electric-bicycle-motor.html - Jack
Hi Amauri, this conversion kit can only be used on 20 inch wheel bikes and the Dahon Curve d3 uses 16 inch wheels. In general we do have a conversion kit compatible with most Dahon bikes over 5 speeds, called the BionX kit. Check it out here at the link if you like: www.nycewheels.com/bionxs350-x-electricbike-motorkit.html Best - Jack
Hi Yu, the Electric brompton will go up to 20 miles per hour just using the throttle, one of the lighter, faster, and more efficient models on the market. Best - Jack
looks like very expensive , I estimate 4000 euros. I build a foldbike with 0,5 kWh for 750 euros with a 2 gear automatic motor for hills and mountains.
Yes, Brompton has been working on an electric model for a few years now but haven't released anything yet. So far ours is the only reliable conversion on the market, but we may see more in the coming years. - Jack
It is! Have you checked out this seatpost you can get for the Electric Brompton? It lights up, which is really cool: LightSKIN Bicycle light seatpost for Brompton - Dylan

How long does it take to charge
Can I remove the electric component for weekends I want to ride without the extra weight in the countryside? Thanks!

Bromptons with a simple upgrade kit are better than the over-designed, complex and expensive solution that Brompton came up with.
Hello Mr, how much the bike? it can send to Colombia.? Gracias.
There s so many visible cables and there s no disc breaks ?

I think I heard that Brompton's trying to make an electric bike themselves

They have now, but it only gives 15.5 mph assist, which is a pathetic deal breaker for me.
Amazing looks like Brompton got this idea from you
Nice.
