the best next step is to navigate you to something that looks like bankofamerica, and wait for you to try to login. or... just some site where you need to create a username/password, and scammer tries that username/password against a bunch of sites. the main security problem is username/password pairs reused across many sites.

Why is QR code still in use if scammer can do this then trusted people especially your employer can do this
I never used QR codes.
