I have just discovered your channel and am fascinated by the content. I am in the process of restoring a 40 year old Mirror which I was given (somebody was getting rid of it on Facebook and my wife spotted it!). The hull and sails are basically sound after a few small repairs and the rest of the fittings should be replaced/cleaned by the end of July. I am amazed at what this little boat can do and can't wait to get her on the water - great videos.

Thank you Donny. Remember to build up slowly, starting with sheltered waters. Glad you like the videos.

Love the videos - you've inspired me to find a Mirror and get learning. I'm enjoying pouring over the the Roy Partridge Mirror book and a Percy Blandford book too. Any further suggestions for reading on the subject?

The hull split whilst underway, taking on water, rocky shoreline! I'd be in panic mode right there! What do you do? you tape it up, calm as a cucumber, and carry on..
    I want your knowledge

I wish I knew more about sailing.
I really like the mods you have on your boat. But I wouldn't know where to start.
    Looks like a fine boat.
    Thanks for sharing your passion.

      @@MrWhothefoxthat I get the skill.
I mentioned his passion for sailing in my comment. I was trying to convey my admiration for his hobby or his craft.
      Messages have no emotion.
I'm trying to figure out if you being a jerk or not. I hope not.
I have great hobbies, but I don't know everything.
I greatly admire people with vision that I don't possess.

@@airwolf61970 sorry if I came across that way, no, certainly not trying to be a jerk, I just perhaps thought you was like myself a knew starter, some people don't realise what's involved. hope you find your passion.

@@MrWhothefoxthat thx for clearing that up.
That's the problem with text. You get zero personality in text.
I am a newbie to sailing.
But I have to say alot of experienced sailors have been less than helpful.
Some have been down right mean.
But, I guess it's a fraternity, and unless your in it. Your just out.
Not much sailing here in Arkansas.
But, I'm from Seattle, and have sailed some with a friend around the San Juan's and the sound.
      Have a great day 😀

David do you find she suffers weather helm when you sail under main alone / reefed main? If so how do you counter it?
Great sailing by the way, love the videos. Am out on the Solent this Saturday myself, heading from Swanwick Marina over to the Island for the day.

Hi Andrew. Have had two wonderful days of brisk sailing in Chichester Harbour. With main alone in very strong winds I think there is some weather helm, but not when reefed with the jib. In this case, I tend to have a little lee helm if anything. I noticed today in F4 that the boat is an absolute dream with jib and gaff sail; on Tuesday we had F5 and it was superbly easy to sail with full jib and reefed gaff mainsail.
