NOTE: Increase the buffer if your game runs slow or very slowly. This might or will affect input lag. But will stabilize slow games on worse connections.

Thanks for doing this easy to do tutorial of how to do Netplay on Dolphin. I have never tried it out yet but it does look pretty easy to setup and such. I'll have to try this with my oldest brother in the family (he's 5 years older than me so, I'm considered the youngest of the 1990s siblings) and see how this goes.

@@flaviomantisi5881 Yes, even in the latest update on Dolphin, the settings in what was shown here a year or two ago is pretty much the same. Again it's still using the Dolphin Version 5.0 layout, just that you can use either Development version or the stable Beta version of Dolphin. As long as you both have the same copy of the game, and assign the controllers to Players 1, 2, 3, and 4 (or Players 1 and 2 or 1+2+3), you're good to go.

melee has online rollback made by a dude called fizzi, look up "slippi", you can find matches very easily and very fast and it has direct play vs a friend or direct play for doubles

I already managed to fix what I did was in the netplay section (in the lobby where the players enter) change the buffer number to 15 it is in the lower left part

Hey this is really cool but I noticed this is about 'host screen' and 'client screen.' What if you're trying to play split screen on the same computer, not online?
Edit: Figured it out, controller settings were not on properly, thankfully I didn't need Netplay for local multiplayer.

Me and my brother were trying to get this to work but we ran into some issues every time I would start up the game on his end it would say “selected game doesn’t exist in game list” is there a way to fix that problem? Hi Allie, make sure both you both have the same game file. For example, you could make a copy of yours and give it to your brother. You could also try changing the host. If it doesn't work while you are the host, maybe it will work if your brother is the host. Good luck!

How taxing is that for both the hardware and internet connection, for the one hosting it? Has anyone experience and can give me some insights? yes, during playing, me and my friend realized that actually they can change their controls from their config. another thing is when you are playing mario bros wii make sure you have the sideways controller option clicked in the controller options menu or else you controls will be all messed up.

Why don’t you just map the button settings anyway shouldn’t it still work? Even if it’s an Xbox controller the only two buttons that are different are A/B and X/O
