I found it strange how when I first watched this film, I loved Victoria. I thought she was nice, pretty and yk, not really a villain (I don’t believe she is a villain now either). Now that I have experienced what it is like to be the second choice, I rewatched the film and it changed my perspective so much. I love Emily and I relate to her so much now. Both girls were beautiful in their own way though. I absolutely love this movie.

It's enough to get along, sure, but not to fall in love. Emily at first fell in love too fast that's true but as they spent time together they got closer and genuinely started to like each other. Yes Victor and Victoria like each other but it's not really that well developed, they have a initial chemistry which is good but also not enough because he spent more time knowing Emily than Victoria. Many people say that he decided to kill himself just as revenge to Victoria, but no matter how petty you can get with someone death is exaggerated. He's not suicidal, he genuinely loved Emily that's why he was willing to die to stay with her, no matter how desperate you are he wasn't killing himself as revenge. If he can't get the woman he loved at first sight then he choses the second woman he learned to love. I think he genuinely loved both and while Victoria tried everything for Victor and makes her a good partner the two barely know each other and I feel like they could end up like their parents or soon discover they don't actually like each other because they know nothing of how they really are. I'm not saying they will definitely grow to dislike each other but they still know nothing of each other if not the obvious, so they MIGHT grow to dislike each other or to like each other even more. Still Emily and Victor actually developed their relationship and grew to like each other in a natural way. Now my brain just isn't in the right place to explain further but the point is that while both couples are good in MY personal opinion Emily and Victor were meant to be as a person that doesn't really like shipping and always judge things neutrally and not with favoritism.
Victor actually only spent about over a day with Emily lmao, and if you notice very carefully, he never really did physical touches with Emily, but almost everytime he was with Victoria he would hug her, hold her shoulders, her back, arms or hands, and also, he never expressed his “ love “ to Emily, but he did it to Victoria in the night he climbed into her room
