@cooper during the tone match part you said you "play your guitar along with it"... I don't understand this part - are you actually playing your cutlass into the AxeFX and strumming along, and this is influencing the tone match to some degree?
I enjoyed that, learned some stuff which is always good :) Big fan of the US Clean Pre here too, .. the one thing I would have done differently would have been to dip the mix on the distortion pedal a tiny but to let some attack through, but that's just subjective nonsense, great job!
What’s so difficult to figure out about his tones? They’ve always been pretty typical, Mesa Rectifiers most often and mix in an AC30 or Deluxe Verb for cleans (when needed). Sprinkle in a flange here and there, maybe a small amount of verb or echo to emulate some of the studio magic and done.

To me a much more iconic guitar intro would be the flanged guitar of the intro of Pantera's Cowboys from Hell, I was never a fan of Nirvana at all, but I can appreciate what they did to the music scene. I really like this video, not for looking for those tones but for the amazing job of showing us your process and how you nailed it. CC is just amazing and these are such amazing videos on how amazing fractal products are. Thank you CC and FAS!

I'm guessing you may be trying to open the file by double-clicking it? You need to import the file using your Fractal editor.
