After you identified the "great" and "swell" upper keyboards I figured the bottom tier would be called the "meh" or the "so-so."
-or "OK-ish."
One of them should be "Rad!"
Nope, while organists are swell, organists are great and organists are positive ;-)
And this is why Trent Hamilton is the only person with enough will to BUILD A WHOLE ORGAN.
Have you seen Look Mom No Computer channel? He build an organ ánd made it MIDI controllable.
Assemble, not build.
Building involves the production of the pipes, and mechanical components.
Gawd, when he said that the wiring around the back was a bit of a mess, I was expecting to see an actual MESS. This was comparitively neat and tidy!!
I look forward to seeing how this project progresses!
And the award for the worlds most understanding wife goes to ………… Mrs Hamilton!
Great work. There is put a lot of time put in this project. I hope your wife and children still know how you look.
A guy who plays brass instruments and organ... Me too! 😀
I'm really very curious to see where this project is going!
Not only did he upload this at an unusual time, but also he wears a T-shirt during winter. New Zeeland is a crazy place.
It's not winter in New Zealand, it's summer and stupidly hot.
I know, but I only realized this after a minute.
That cabling looks phenomenal!
Lovely! I simply can not wait to see how this project turns out!
That's so cool, so much skill is involved in building an entire organ
Also you are definitely not old lol
ahh, computer, so in fact a large midi keyboard :) Well done!
awesome project!
A "choir" manual is usually enclosed, like a swell, and a "positive" is usually not. This is far from a hard-and-fast rule, but it is a kind of guideline.
You mean the manuals aren't labeled "Great", "Swell", "Terrific"?
My only experience with an organ is with my dad’s old (analog) harmonium. In all these decades, I’ve never heard a difference in the sound of the pull stops. They’ve never sounded the way they’re labeled (Flute, violin, voice 1, etc) so I never understood the purpose of them.
Will yours have a foot keyboard as well or is that what the third row is for?
Harmoniums and other reed organs never made realistic sounds. You just can't make a flute sound using a reed - it's one of their quirks. Yes, this organ has foot pedals as well as three hand-keyboards.
Give us an update!
Dude! Amazing!
Are you still on terra firma? Hope everyone's high and dry!
oooooohh
