      Hi @mestayno, that sounds frustrating and unusual. It shouldn't reset when doing so. Have you tried saving your formatting as a Text Style? Specifically a Paragraph style. It should mean you can reapply the formatting instantly if for some reason it's resetting everything.
      If that still doesn't help jump over to the Affinity Forum and raise a new thread about it.

    Is it possible to use a 1p6 for flush left and a first line -1p6 in Affinity Publisher?

      Hi @katm1884, Thank you for your question. I don't often work in Picas but I'll attempt to answer your question.
      It is possible to adjust the spacing to use 1p6, whether that's increasing the left line indent, outdent and so on, however the software won't allow you to input a negative spacing value. This is because the negative value is attempting to exceed the bounds of the text frame. To my knowledge the only way the exceed the frame would be to use the optical alignment settings to exclude punctuation marks.
      Could you instead increase the left index spacing for your text to 1p6 and then select the individual paragraphs you want to remain unaffected and set the spacing to zero? I believe you'd end up with similar results. To speed things up you could then assign the spacing to a paragraph style on use the style picker to apply the new formatting relatively quickly.
      Let me know if this solutions works.

      @@benjaminviney If you ever do a tutorial on indents, tab, tab indent bar please let me know. I've got indents working. You can do hanging indents outside the frame in InDesign, just thought Affinity might have it, too. Not yet I guess. Thanks for the suggestions.

      @@benjaminviney you can set negative #s in Paragraph>Decoration. Possible there is a way to put an asterisk outdented there. I need to learn more on this.

    It's not working. I manage to create a new style with a different bullet colour, but how to add it to another text? It does not copy the property of a bullet, it changes the colour of all text and without bullet shape change. Can we also modify the bullet size? How to keep the different bullet colour (as a character style?) together with black text for other lists? It works only for newly created lists. V2.5

      Hi @joanl.2471 Thank you for your question. You'll need to create a bullet point Character Style to change the colour of the bullets (See 4:06). It might seem like a bit of a strange workflow at first but it should mean you can then apply that bullet character style to other bullet points and lists. As for the size of the bullet you can either change this by adding a custom glyph or increasing the point size under the Character Style.
      Make sure when you create the character style to create it from the Paragraph Panel's - Bullets and Numbering section.
      Hope this helps.

      @@benjaminviney I retried and it worked this time, thanks. I think I used the pink bullet character style before instead of a paragraph style, and that's why it made all text pink. So you set the bullet/numbers sizes and colours in Character style and the text colour, spacing, size etc - in Paragraph style.

    whats the name of the "Data Merge" of the Afinity publisher?

    • @benjaminviney
      @benjaminviney 7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi @rafaelozmarcos, There's two data merge tools in Affinity Publisher. The Data Merge Layout Tool which is found in your tools panel and then normal Data Merge function which is managed from the Data Merge Manager found under the top menu 'Window> Data Merge Manager' . There's video on how to use the Data Merge tools in the V1 playlist on the Publisher Channel.
      If you get stuck in the future, It might be worth jumping over to the Affinity Forum and raising a question/ new thread there. You might get a more speedy response that way.
