Mam as per my knowledge u can give ugc net as a science student ( bot,zoo,chem, forestry etc) from environment science sub nd be a assistant professor in ur respective sub or study for phd from ur respective subject as well after cracking the exam. Please do correct me if im wrong.

Both subjects will give you different opportunities so do look at their future possibilities and their syllabus. Also check that what would you like to teach or learn in future
