I never get over just how funny it is to see him just rip out a crazy riff like that, just stop and with a straight face just say "okay" as if it was just the easiest thing ever - dont know why but it cracks me up
m'kay?
Soo northern. Love it.
Lades and Gentleman! This is what I call a lesson! Thank you Mark!
The best online bass instructor out there! This is my dude right here....
20:57 for riff all together, slowly.
Not all heroes wear cape
Thank you man!!!
I have been frustrated at not getting the pops with the 2 fingers. Finally you explaining moving sideways made all the difference. Thanks!
Got my bass (Sire M2) four string 10 days ago, Subscribed to your channel, Marcus Miller is my Idol and Run for Cover is 1 of my favorites, Told myself, even if it takes me a year to learn it I will, This lesson made it CRYSTAL clear how to learn it. Might still take me a year but you are spot on, Awesome teacher!
Bruh same 1 year ago I told myslef I would learn it no matter how long it took and around a year later, I can!
Brilliant tutorial. You are a natural teacher and a fantastic bass player. Respect.
I love how detailed your lessons are, and appreciate how you take the time to explain things fully.
there is absolutely nobody that's a more efficient teacher! I'm a working musician and have been a member of local 47 for 21yrs. And if I need to learn the something is actually played as opposed to written I come right over to Talking Bass. I have stated I would love to make a donation to contribute to your generosity and time? I appreciate your help to bassist of all levels
What I like is that he gives the lesson without all the stupid and silliness that MANY of the other so called teachers include. This guy is to the point. Very good for those of us who are ADULTS and don't need silly. Thank you Brother!!!!
No one ever explained anything in such a detail . Thanks , I have improved a lot in my techniques
I've been playing bass for 30 years and haven't seen anyone teach this technique so clearly. Fantastic riff choice too! Thanks👾🎸
Fabulous tuition as ever Mark. Thanks so much. I've played bass for over 20 years but always shied away from the slap/pop stuff. Your lessons are changing all this for me. Cheers!

1:22 , lol this dude lives on the bass and I love it. Amazing teacher!
After learning Marcus's songs it funny to see how he changes the riff each time the phrase repeats lol and then he repeats the pattern.. Genius!
Another great lesson Mark! Marcus Miller has had a huge influence on my bass playing since the late '80's, so thanks for this lesson!
I've been playing bass for over 25 years and I too had problems getting that, what I call, a muted hammer/pop triplet down correctly. I love using it now that I know how to do so correctly!
Just wonderful.
One of the best bass tutorials i've ever came across!!
Thank you Mark. This is the best lesson i've ever see. You gave me the solution for this difficult ghost technic. Thank you

Thx Mark !
Mark is an excellent teacher, I purchase his course on slapping the bass. It takes you gradually from beginner to higher levels. I just felt fair to make this comment.
thanks a lot sir! That's really amazing!
Great lesson, cheers!
28:13 "to g or not to g" hahahahahaha i fucking love you mark
Thanks a lot uploading this video!
My English skill is poor,
but your video is easily understandable without knowledge of English.
Man, u are a brilliant teacher, I tried loads of other tutorials, but you seem to play with a more natural approach, I've actually got the whole thing, but that appregio mute roll thing is holding me back. It's a real difficult skill, but to hear you had problems with it also encouraged me. I'm still determined to get it. Thanks for helping us guys out, I have subscribed and to say I'm looking forward to more tasks doesn't sound right, but man, thanks. It's like a driving test, I'm dreading it but know the benefits are worth it if I put the time in.
+Redbranch Thanks a lot. That flamenco roll thing was a MAJOR pain in the ass for me for years and years (probably 1991 through to some time in the 2000's) but you just need to work on it.
you are a godsend for a bass player!
Your video lesson of Run for cover was very helpful to develop my brain and my fingers to understand about flamingo trick.
