Shaun..... what is the beeb playing at making The reckoning?
( which is a name i hate cos my mates had a band called that back in the day )
Anyway........ how dare the bbc make a drama series to get veiwers about him ?
They hid him for decades ...... he was a chomo long before , so the did nt make him ! But...... they enabled !
And Coogan... why would he want to play him . ? Its not like playin suttcliffe or fred west telling a story.
Its the biggest chomo in the country , and he probably met him
This is the beeb tryin to wash their hands of him ...

Jimmy Savile used to come to our church and regularly visited a cafe I had a holiday job in. Made himself the centre of attention every time. My neighbour worked in the hospital he worked in as a porter. She lost her job because she raised concerns about him and that was in 1972.

I was brought up in children's homes in Guernsey, Channel Islands (smaller island than Jersey, but both part of the Channel Islands) from the mid 60s - 1980. The worst of which was called Greenfields children's home. It was a horrible place for a young child to be placed in. Innocent abused children like myself mixed with troubled teens, borstal kids, etc, where daily beatings from them, and staff became routine. Unlike the jersey home, Greenfields has been wiped off the face of the earth, not a single mention or photograph on the Internet. Like all the children I grew up with back then, we have all struggled through life. Jimmy Saville would also visit Greenfields, he seemed to be wherever vulnerable children were. I am now hitting 60, and not a day goes by that I don't think about those horrendous days of my youth. My generation are dying now, and with each of us who passes, the history of a child beating home dies also. To be forgotten about and swept under the carpet

Thank you for your kind words. I was brought up to go to church and Sunday school 3 times every Sunday. As a child I wanted so much for someone to love me, I even gave my heart to Jesus as a 6 year old boy during a Sunday school meeting. But faith has become something I lost many years ago, while being beaten for no reason, being abused by those who were meant to care for me, and during the times I cried out in pain and loneliness to only be beaten again f9r doing so. I appreciate your kind reply, but life has been a daily struggle for survival. I've seen many of my children's home brothers and sisters die with nothing but a head full of bad memories. I wish I had faith, but it is something that I can no longer find. I was first diagnosed with depression at the age of 6, and i still need medication to get through each day. I hope that by becoming a good man and doing my very best with the little I was given, has earned me some reward after I die. I have cancer again for the 2nd time, no doubt caused by my past, so your prayers are much appreciated. Thank you

@@iandism Thank you for sharing your painful story, we live in a fallen world, and many of us have suffered abuse as children. Remember this my friend, this life is short, but eternity is forever, seek God, for he is a rewarder of those that seek him, I know, he turned my life around and set me free from the mental bondage I was in and is still healing me to this day, I will pray for you, that you receive the free gift that God is offering you, through putting your trust in Jesus Christ as your only way to heaven, the Saviour of your soul, God bless you ❤

@@iandismthat’s very sad. I am sorry to read this. I grew up with abuse too although yours sounds much worse than mine, but in my case it was God that got me through those years.
I believe if you became a Christian at 6, then God understands what you went through so you don’t have to worry about your salvation. God says He has carved us in His hand meaning once you are His you are always His, He will never leave or forsake you. You still belong to Him.
Of course your life on this earth would be better if you were walking with Him but your salvation is still secure. You will see Jesus one day and all the sorrows of this life will be wiped away.

I first found out about him around 81 or 82. I knew someone who was being treated at Stoke Mandeville. The Nurses there, all knew about him.
When he snuffed it, I was in a small minority of people that weren't grief stricken in an ex mining town. I was being ridiculed and denounced for my lack of mawkish sadness. When I remind them of their anger they still belittle me for my failure to move on. These same people now galumph with aplomb through life. I hate humans.

As a child in the UK we were very limited if you grew up in this era for children's programmes, but I can honestly say I hated jiml fix it his weird clothes, hair and dead fish eyes creeped me out, it was evil in its purest form, to think of the show now " I can make your dreams come true " is a very sickening
The fact that he groomed abused and did it in front of our eyes for decades and that the powers that be knew is beyond our comprehension for power for money for ratings...every single person that knew of his depravity should be held accountable..the poor girl that commited suicide because of these child attracted pos should have never been allowed to be preyed on, a life lost in desperation and loneliness to think of the disgusting way she and her family were treated by all those involved makes me sick to my stomach ..there's a very special place in hell for all those involved, I hope they never know a moments peace

I was in care from aged 5 to 17 after my father abused me. He told me after my moms death I had to take her place. He "trained" me in what to do. When we were put into care they knew what had happened to me. They knew that I was used to it happening. I was shared around to a lot of animals in human form. I had no counselling or help. I tried to end my life for the first time aged 10. I then self medicated so that I could cope with it all. I am in my 50s and I have PTSD and I still suffer. I struggle with counselling because it was so ingrained that you never tell.

Oh, god. Sweetheart, I’m so sorry. I was abused too but on a much smaller scale. My mum died when I was 11. I was 12 when My dad once put his hands on my waist and started kissing my neck from behind. I froze and he abruptly stepped back and never did it again. He’d also stroke my legs if I was in the front passenger seat of the car and tell me to put my hand on his leg. Like I said, very mild compared to yours but I certainly know the feelings that go along with that. I later found out via my counsellor that it’s called substitution. I also wonder if it’s a more common thing but we feel so isolated and helpless because nobody ever really talks about it. I never told any of my family because there’s no way they would ever believe me. I hope you’re in a good enough place in life now, that you know NONE of it was your fault and that you have some sense of peace. Please, please tell a counsellor. I know it’s so scary but any counsellor worth that title will give you the comfort, support and reassurance you need and the acceptance your inner child deserves. Please know my heart goes out to you and I’m sending you my love 💜

He was at LGI one night when I accompanied a friend to A&E, jingle jangling along with a massive bunch of keys wearing a loud shell suit (80s). He spotted me and spoke to me, asking if I was keeping an all-night vigil all on my own and then jingle jangled off. I was in my teens and barely acknowledged him, which I'm quite glad of now. I know someone who was with a friend sitting on a bench at Roundhay Park. He went over to them and said he'd get them some cigarettes, if they wanted. They didn't accept. This suggests to me that he'd test the water with anyone that caught his eye, and just move on to the next potential opportunity if he failed to make an impact.

He completed the first few miles and down a side road, nr Roseberry Grange golf course, a van pulled up next to him. Two blokes got out and loaded his bike into the van and he jumped in the back. He was deposited a few miles before the finish line where he got back on his bike and finished the ride.

Im certain that they are in all European countries mainstream media , i know in Denmark there have been a few the last 10 years+ that have been let off silently and in disgrace, all very Hush, the last one was CHRISTIAN KJÆR (KJAER) a very rich man who was close to The Queen of Denmark' s Husband the now late Prince Henry ... Many of the The Royals in Europe have a sick mind, king
Of Sweden aswell ... it all makes sense now, none the less i pray that more people date to speak up, and be given the strength to not give up on life, and will be given the help and respect needed for being able to have ,a better life after their experiences ....From Denmark Scandinavia, gratitude and only love. ❤ Ps. I hope you eould give it a chance to research the royals in Scandinavia and europe, all the dots on the private people close to the princes, kings etc. So many dots

Why would you get a man who’s never been married who was a paedophile (though they didn’t know that at the time) who has a reputation as a bit of a “playboy” in to be a marriage councillor to anyone let alone the future King and his wife! It blows your mind 🤯

Back in the 70s I was doing a series at Gtv, studio/location during the day, "bopping" at night -Millionaire Club, (Stringfellows' club), Slack Alices, (George Best) et al. I have it on Good authority that a female was taken back to a hotel suite where intercourse took place. The female took (I'm told innocently) as a memento, a gold necklace. The necklace turned out to be a rare Salvador Dali medallion. The male reported it to GM Police, who pulled out all the stops to track down the "culprit", who lived way outside Manchester (Bury or Burnley). Bare in mind this is pre cctv, anpr, etc. The cops raided her parents house, found the necklace by the side of her bed (not hidden, remember it was a "memento") and threatened her with all sorts of prison, institutions, borstal ( you know, the usual pig stuff), all she had to do was "forget about it ". Why? Because she was FOURTEEN years of age
and HIS name was Dodi. Second name started with an "F" and his dad had a few quid. Money talks, eh?

Savile procured children for Royal Family, Lords, Judges, high ranking police officers, basically anyone that could afford his services. Elm St, the Monday Club, the Friday Club, the BBC, it all just goes on and on.

Jimmy Savile would love this. Even over 10 years after death many people will think about him for at least 3 hours and 41 minutes.
He's gotten the most out of life of what he wanted and got away with it. And he would probably consider this documentary a continued celebration of his brilliance.

I commented elsewhere that when I became a rock journalist in the 70s I was told that Savile had a dodgy reputation.
Some guy actually incredibly replied that there was nothing wrong with Savile giving a young girl a "ride" in his Roller, that no one testified on oath, etcetera!
There are cases where I see accusations and I'm not totally convinced (Rolf Harris for example - where a witness changed which tv show she met him on and what age she was) but how anyone can still think Savile was innocent I can't conceive. It is clear he crazily believed all the good he did would offset his sex crimes in the eyes of the God he worshipped.
It gave me no pleasure to find out the depths of his depravity as he was my favourite DJ on Radio Luxembourg in the early 60s and I assumed back in the day that it was sex with willing teenage girls like rock stars were infamous for. To find he molested unwilling underage children of both sexes and possibly the dead was mind blowing.

It's easy to forget details like how old you were when abused but details of the act can be clear. Or vice versa.

@@roleat True - for example I can't state exactly what age I was when a man masturbated in front of me other than to say I was a very small boy. But the girl in the Harris case was testifying in court that he definitely met her on a particular tv show when she was a specific age in her teens. When the defence proved he had never appeared on the show, the girl completely changed her story to say it was a different programme on another channel when she was at a different age. The defence asked for time to investigate this new allegation but the judge refused. That didn't seem fair to me.

My late Grandparents and Aunty always spoke in hushed whispers whenever his name was mentioned. They lived fairly near to The Airdale Hospital and knew people who knew people who worked at this Hospital. As a child I felt confused because I loved watching him on television.

If you really want to look deeper into Savile & his victims ,you need to look into what happened at Henlow Grange Health Farm . Henlow was a favourite retreat for Savile & his side kick Allan Freeman .I worked there in my teens & was offered like a lamb to the slaughter to him ..

Thankyou so much for these replies. I did make a call to William Mark Thomas many years later to report both my experiences & many more telling facts about things that happened. He said , he had no doubt that there were cases of abuse from Henlow Grange, but that it is a 'Private Facility' run by the very top names on the 'rich list' ,meaning that even Operation Grange can do nothing about it !

Sutcliffe and Saville were pretty friendly at Broodmoor .. maybe there were two killers at large at the time of the Yorkshire Ripper murders and I wonder whether Saville was the other villain ...
