As someone who grew up Mormon these are always baffling to me. I have to assume most of those kids who said ‘hit by a car’ were only doing it because they were being filmed. I don’t doubt that a few would actually prefer it though 🥴

I’m an LDS member and the story of the parents banning Pokémon is hilarious and kinda disturbing. Like over here in New Zealand, there are not as many extreme type of characters in the church. There are some weirdos for sure but America seems to have a way larger ratio of weirdo to somewhat normal.

@@Cookies_77441 a lot of reasons. Mostly just realized how messed up the religion was, and wanted out. Getting away from controlling religious family helped me realize i wanted more of a choice and that i disagreed with a lot of the beliefs. Also some things i dont want to say publicly for privacy's sake. I am kind of anti organized religion now, i think religion should be a private matter between an individual and their god/gods/etc.
as a byu student know that this is only the TIP of the iceberg…..😭

As a member of the church that sponsors this school, I'm embarrassed haha. I've always hated BYU and living in Provo is ass btw. I've never attended but from the stories I've heard, the school is crazy toxic lol. Also, the story about the Pokemon kid kills me because there are WAY too many members of our church that take things WAY too far haha. I had a family in my neighborhood growing up that wouldn't let their kids watch tv because they thought it didn't invite the spirit into their lives hahaha

As someone who has lived in Utah my whole life, I grew up and know a lot of people like the people who go to BYU. It's kinda odd tbh
As an exmo I love this. They are poking fun and making jokes while still feeling like they’re holding a form of respect knowing that Mormons are still humans. I usually just see pure hatred to the Mormon religion, and for me who has their whole family as members, that’s kinda crushing. This was by far the best reaction/Mormon teasing I’ve ever seen, props.
