- What's Next For Arcade1Up Fans? Stern Pinball Godzilla 70th & GI Joe Wrath of Cobra Demo! With Arcade1Up moving away from the direction most enthusiasts became enamored with from 2018 - 2021, what's the next step for people who want to keep collecting 3/4 scale and above arcade recreations? Stern Pinball announces a new Godzilla Premium model to celebrate the Monster's 70th Anniversary & GI Joe Wrath of Cobra releases a demo but here is why I won't be covering it.

Welcome to my channel. I have been playing and collecting games since 1987 and I use this channel to share my passion and memories of gaming. I review games that I believe are under appreciated or wrongfully dismissed on Game Genie Reviews. Video Game Nostalgia is a fun series where I take a look at a topic from my gaming past and share games that come to mind from it. I also do Top 10 lists, of course I do...what else is on youtube right? Well I like to think I put my own spin on them because they are based on my life in gaming. Hope you enjoy the channel and always looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Everybody, Thanks for watching! Let me know what you think of the Stern Pinball Godzilla 70th, Have you played the GI Joe Wrath of Cobra Demo? and what are your feelings on Arcade1Up going forward, will you still buy products in the new form factor or look for other options?
Outside of this small community, is there really a market for a company to invest in producing 3/4 scale or bigger cabs, licensed titles and all, and convince retailers to jump on board? That’s the struggle with A1up. Retailers have pulled way back. Plus they had a couple of big f up’s that cost them financially.
It’s easy for us to say there’s room but the cost to produce licensed cabs and be able to make a profit, they’d need to sell a lot to make it cheaper for us, or charge at least ALP 4k prices. Crowdfunding could get the ball rolling but isn’t a long term solution.
The pandemic is honestly what brought A1up a lot of success. I’d love to see A1up bounce back and/or competition to come out but, idk if it’s possible, at least on the scale of A1up. 1 or 2 cabs a year from someone could happen, but I’d think it would be safe titles and pricier. Multicades aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but they are the alternative.
Just my humble opinion….
You arent wrong, if anything does come out it won't be in the $400 range and probably be between $500 to $1000 and that is if
Totally agree with you here. I would love to see a couple of good releases a year and would support A1up if they were decent titles. I'm not sold on the mash up cabs and multicades may as well just use my raspberry pi emulator.
Thanks for the shoutout bud. 🦊👊
The problem at the moment is that there are no good alternative options for those that want licensed games in 3/4 or full-size cabs. Best option seems to be using a PC (for Steam games) or Switch along with a cab or ALU. It's too bad that AtGames' foray into selling licensed games never really took off. Would love to see them expand their licensed games packs beyond the few they offer (and the announced Rare games). Evercade is the closest at the moment (though still not full size), but their library seems very similar to the iiRcade and the bigger publishers (like Capcom) don't let them make cartridges. If Unico, Glen or NWT can release licensed Arcade titles from companies other than the standard Data East, Pico, etc. titles found everywhere, would be great.
Well that's the thing right now, all we have is hope that either Arcade1Up suprises us or someone else like NWT delivers
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie I've been turning more and more to my VR, tbh. I still love playing my A1Us from time to time, but frankly, until A1U or another company reignites the excitement of the hobby with something new, I'm looking elsewhere for some of my gaming entertainment.
As far as the Black & White … it’s Baskins Robbins yall (31 flavors for different folks with different tastes)
And as far as Arcade 1up, you are so true … love the product, not necessarily a fan of the company or how things are managed or produced. And as a result, there are others that will fill the void for the Home Arcade Market Place
Thanks for the coverage!
Thanks man! Hopefully someone steps up and we get more Arcade recreations
Micheal B. you have the best intro music.
My wishlist:
XL tapper, tempest, X-men vs Streetfighter, some sort of racer
I"m with you MichaelB, I'm not going to buy anything 1up puts out that I don't like but I'm holding out hope they get through these rough times and get back on track and start offering us what we want. Go back to the 70's and 80's as those are cabs that got them to the pinnacle of the home arcade business.
Good to see you in the comments brother! Exactly, they do something like a Defender cab with proper controls and the right form factor that would be a day 1 purchase
off topic, but I've been meaning to ask. what kind of lights are those you have along your back wall? Love your content!
I'll never be able to afford either pin, but the B&W Godzilla is sexy! Especially since it evokes the old B&W films. My only question is if the video is also in B&W? If so, that's a 10/10 for me.
OK, I like your version better, but that new Godzilla machine is fantastic.
A G.I. Joe beat-em-up is a must have.
I already own the only 3 Arcade 1up cabinets I have any interest in, so unless they release a full sized version of Star Wars or Tron (or Tempest with a vertical monitor) I'm not interested.
Glen is a cool dude, so I'm interested to see what he comes up with.
👋😊🖐️ Best Jazz hands in the biz !
Mod whatcha got people. Create what you really want. A1up isn’t the home arcade absolute end all be all.
If Arcade1Up put out Pole Position, Robotron 2084, Spy Hunter or Berzerk / Frenzy I'd buy immediately... but not holding my breath anymore
That's where I'm at. We need fresh meat, man.
Shit, just went to the site and they are already sold out. I want one! I am not into these mini arcade things from New Wave but THIS is different!
Well said Mr. B! Let the shilling continue 👑
lol I'll be cold in the ground before i stop shilling! Real question is it still shilling when i tell people not to buy it?
I guess I'll have to mid my own Smash TV and Arkanoid cabinets.
I’ve been saving for the Stern Avengers. Have you heard anything good or bad about it?
I’d love to see more classic content from you Mike. Like ranking videos and the like. You love beat em ups so why don’t you give us your top 20 beat em ups of all time? Split it between two videos. Just some thoughts.
In the works, have a NES video I’m working on about games that cheat the players
I'm with you, I don't understand the appeal of the black and white art on Godzilla.
I don't get it, I wonder how well the black & white Elvira sold?
Me and the wife live in a small apartment. I only own countercades and with they would do more of those. How I would love to see a Virtual Fighter countercade collection. Or a Darkstalkers collection. There are alot of us out there that just dont have the room for the bigber units and been wishing for more countercades.
It was actually Restalgia trying to be RGT85
uh oh the jig is up lol
I am not holding my breath for any new arcades - especially Spy Hunter, Afterburner and Hydro Thunder - although the real deal for Afterburner would be the motion cab and A1Up definitely won't do that version. :)
I dont really see the big deal with the nba jam 2 player hate. Hey its nba jam with 3 games and 2 players instead of 4 players. Its slimer and easier to fit into your home. Nothing wrong with any of these things. They probably should have made every cab like this to begin with then they might of had more money for new games.
@MichaelBtheGameGenie I appreciate your channel, but IMO the community has to stop attacking A1up. RTG85 has rarely had anything positive to say about A1up. I purcahsed a gen 1 when they first got released and yes, there have been some quality issues but the same can be said for most products and brands. A1up fills a void in the market that no other brand has and I would love to see more cabs released. In terms of price anybody that can build their own cab with hd screen, quality buttons, back lit marquee, high quality side art ect for $300 or less go right ahead. I guarantee you cant unless you scrounge used parts. Its a case of put up or shut up. If $300 -$900 is not within your budget then replica arcades maybe are not for you. In Australia (much like Canada) we pay much more and I'm still happy to do so. Along with build out my own cabs but DIY is certainly not a cheaper option.
I’m not into the stern special additions. Hey, I’m just as bummed as you regarding the new form factor. I’m very nostalgic and to see a company change direction, at least a direction we don’t like, is disappointing. Fingers crossed this is a one off.
I rather have thr color machines. Black and white just isn't as eye catching to me
Whats next? Spoilers.... Not a damn thing
Can they release more XLs already...or new titles? Geez. Everything they release lately is a straight up turd. Think whoever is running the company now doesn't know the target market.
Mike you are going to have to move on from talking about 1up. They are dead. Finished. Game Over. Move on.
Well that’s essentially what I said, if they do something I will still talk about it. If they do nothing well there isn’t anything to talk about
They seem to be only releasing updated versions of what was released before. How many NBA Jams do we need?
@@robkrasinski6217 nothing was upgraded. Same games. Slimmer cab.
