Dublin need to be taken out of Leinster and moved up to Ulster to compete for their provincial championships on neutral venues and tight pitches. If Galway hurlers can compete in the Leinster Championship, why can't Dublin compete in the Ulster Championship? The Leinster Championship without Dublin would be very competitive because then Meath, Kildare, Louth and Westmeath all feel they have a chance of winning Leinster which is good healthy competition. Although moving Dublin to Ulster is a great proposal, sadly I fear there would be backlash from Derry, Donegal and Armagh as it would significantly restrict their chances of winning the Ulster Championship.

I remember the Meath Dublin Battles from the mid 90's up to 2010 there was always a great edge to them very similar to the Cork Tipperary rivalry in hurling which will never end unfortunately in regards to the Dublin Meath rivalry i think we can bid it a fond farewell and probably to the Leinster senior football championship also i hope am wrong kind regards God bless John from Tipperary

Another alternative to the Championship would be to have a Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championship similar to the Ladies Championship where relegation and promotion occur between the 3 types of Championships.

As a Meath man myself, it's the womens football teams of Meath and Dublin that reignites the rivalry of what the men's used to have back in the '90's and Noughties.

As long as the GAA keep Dublin in the Leinster Championship, NOTHING will change anytime soon because they're a trillion miles ahead of all other Leinster counties in terms of quality, strength in depth, number of clubs to choose from etc. I'm at a stage where anybody who pays money for Leinster Football tickets are indirectly funding the GAA for more Dublin dominance because let's face it, the Leinster Championship has revolved around the Dubs for the past 14 years. For any football fan who does attend Dublin games in Leinster can say "I was there to see the great Cluxton, Fitzimons, McCaffrey, Fenton, McCarthy, Mannion, O'Callaghan etc"

Play the provincials as a pre season competition if it needs to be kept. Push the league back a few weeks and the championship back a few weeks also. Make the season a bit longer, it seems like the GAA are content at this stage to get everything played as quick as possible

I agree with you Munster is becoming similar to the Leinster championship Cork in football are no longer able to give any decent challenge to Kerry the 4 other counties in Munster are going backwards also Hurling is very strong in them counties. Connaught isn't great either the only competitive province is Ulster.
