always a pleasure to watch your videos…. as a point of interest…. I believe, the smk s2 pistol is a smoothbore…. would be an ideal dart gun… i have an umarex dx17 which is also smoothbore and low power…. ideal for playing airgun darts!!! As a fisherman I say “Tight lines”…. as an airgunner you say “keep your arms in the air “… I’ve been trying to think of a saying and came up with a few.. but I think i’ll use this when greeting fellow airgunners!!
Good to see you back JRH, a new video from you is always very welcome. Where else on YT are you going to find a better researched and presented video on such a niche but interesting subject for all us airgun fans? Please keep going.
Nice video (as always). I’ve never tried the darts but might give them a go. I’m sure I would have ruined my dartboard without the heads up. I always look forward to your work, you are a natural in front of the camera.
You can easily muzzle load these into a regular single cock smooth bore BB gun, like a Red Ryder, and the power is perfect for a 7'10" range and regular dart board. Good fun in the garage. Using a break barrel rifle is just way too much power for these.
Perfect thanks I wanted to know if it would ruin the real dart board tbh. And you answered the questions. Glad you did it before I shot mine. I think I will shoot the paper target instead.
There are smoothboar air pistols, like e.g. Record (belongs to Umarex) LP1, LP3 also some people are using smoothboar CO2 revolvers if shells will allow to load a dart. In both cases muzzle velocity is below 100 m/s and the max distance is 3-5m, which is a perfect darts distance and no ricochet.
Quite a controversial subject the dart's as alot of folk tend to avoid them. I too had them with my gat and they were fun to use. As for a dart board maybe a cheap one might be a better bet with a low powered pistol or rifle. Keep up with the good work and I will look forward to seeing your next vid
Same here, used them way, way, back in 1960..straight into our shed door from my Gat. Bought two Gats recently, just for nostalgic purposes. Both still work, but one minus its barrel screw.
I’m probably going to get some soon because i’m curious to know if I can find a way to make them stick by shooting them sideways out of a slingshot. Do you think they would stabilize in flight in under 100ft and under 200fps?
@@trevorjameson3213 otherwise, mostly OK... Got hold of two old Gats recently, along with some darts of the same vintage. My first Gat cost 30/ - ( £1.50). Great fun for a kid then..
@@trevorjameson3213 Also, by a strange coincidence, I found two packets of *Beatall* brand.. 177 pellets at a local market about two weeks ago. One half full, a brand I remember well from the 1960s. I'm not planning to start collecting old air gun stuff, but I wonder what else is lyi g around in markets, boot fairs, etc? Happy New Year! 😊.
Great video , brings back great childhood memories many moons ago .
Enjoyed the video, love the history info you provide. Cheers from Virginia, U.S.A..

That was an interesting video. I ordered an air dart setup, I think it will be fun.
Used them in my BSa rifle and Crosman 2240 I’m not to fussed about barrel damage as only ever short range plinking
Nice video i love darts

@@melcomepay6668 I think they are available from eBay
They are fine for a cheap low power smooth bore pistol like the Umarex DX17 or Milbro G1018.
This guys got quite the airsenal of weapons
I'm sure at one time you could get airgun darts with a plastic body and flights and with a steel tip, they were designed not to damage the rifling
I can't find them in 22

You need slingshot darts, or “slingshot arrows” they have hooks on them to pull back and let go with
where to buy that bb gun darts?
I wouldn't use them, they destroy the barrel, that told me an old gunsmith in the past.
Even in a smooth bore BB gun, they do score the barrel a little bit. Not badly but they do ruin the nice mirror finish of the barrel.

what is a good break barrel smooth bore pistol that I can use to shoot darts
Would you have a website that I could order it from
I didn't see these before I wrote a comment
I had the same damage done to my good dartboard. Have you tried them on the cheaper coiled boards?
Where would I order those air gun darts
can you buy poison darts ?
asking for a friend.
Can it be used in a gun with a rifled barrel?
😂🤣 did you even watch the video or did you fall asleep 😴 in the first 30 seconds ?
Could an air gun that shoots darts shoot pellets of the same caliber instead?
they need a plastic coating to not wear the barrel out.
Only worth using in a gat gun
Your intro volume needs to be toned down to match your actual audio and speech. Otherwise, nice vid and the burning intro!
Definitely not used for far accuracy
