I've worked in abattoirs that gave sheep the single worst days of their lives. I've seen men spit teeth through broken lips in knock-down, drag-out, tooth-and-nail bar fights. I've seen some brutal things before, but this was on another level. I'm not saying it wasn't warranted, because to do nothing is to allow low grade corporate evil to take a piece of you, but you must have carried this one around with you like a prison shank for a while. Like knapping a stone knife, a little bit at a time until the final result will cut you before you feel it. Spectacularly written.

Honestly they've been pretty regularly posting stuff about FriendlyJordies for a bit, they have about 9 articles on him (one from Gizmodo which is under the Pedestrian branch). When it's straight reporting what happened they don't include an author, but when it includes some level of analysis or opinion they show them. I don't know why they'd do it, but my best guess would be a kinda show of loyalty, that you're signing your name on an insulting header and filling your article with mistruths to prove yourself and gain some attention from higher ups

I remember interning at a publishing company and having a rep from Pedestrian come to speak. They explained how they intentionally took news stories from actual news publications, pumped up the headlines, then pumped them up again to make them as inflammatory and click-baity as possible. Not even worthy of being called d-grade journalism. I’d rather drink algae-infested pond water on a warm day than read an article from the pedestrian.

I appreciate your courage and ferociously accurate targeting, I understand we should not allow tyranny and violence against people and our precious planet. I believe human civilization is collapsing catastrophically. The greed and stupidity clawing for advantage will probably succeed in the short term, and no doubt will cause a lot of suffering. My mother died a few years ago in a rather shabby aged care factory, before covid arrived. She was ninety and frightened for the world, I said to her that if we are too stupid to respect it, then we'll lose it. I don't think humans, collectively, have enough respect.
