So sorry for your loss .I lost my Uncle Cousin and my beautiful sister last year and this song helped me so much.
Sitting here with a big smile on my face and tears streaming down my cheeks . My parents had me later in their lives...and sadly left this earth way too soon, both good Christian people that took this little Southern boy to church EVERY Sunday morning... this song and her singing has me feeling them and their love for me more than ever. Thank you Carrie.

I"m only 49, I also lost my parents & was a surprise later in their life like you the difference is that my Mom took me to church every Sunday, my Dad went to the bars even though they met in the church choir so the house. I also hear the old songs and I can almost hear my Mom singing them if I listen really hard :) I used to sit up in my room with an old hymn book and sing my heart out to escape what was going on downstairs. It seemed as though both the devil and God were both trying to get rid of the other but God always prevailed 90% of the time thankfully. I stopped going to church thought things were better out doing my own thing at 16 but now turning 50 next April, I never lost my faith in God but did all the wrong things and actually shouldn't even be here right now, should be dead a long time ago. I'm struggling now with wanting to be closer to Jesus and feel the Holy Spirit in me but for whatever reason Gods hasn't seen fit to bless me with that yet. It used to scare me as a child and Mom never really explained it, now I'm a lot older and desperately want to feel that way now. The Hold Spirit still scares me a little because it's something new and unknown & unseen.

I pray that you love Jesus for the rest of your life and never turn away from Him and His never ending love.

Krystal, I couldn't agree more! There are more people scared of sharing the gospel that they think that someone is going to say to save it for Sunday service or whatever. We are called to share His word everyday! Romans 1:16 says I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. On the other side, people that don't believe think we are forcing this stuff on them. We are not doing any of that. Believe what you want to believe in. I mean we encourage those who feel led to be in His presence to come, but only when God leads them.
And be proud of ones heritage unlike now where everything Confederate is considered offensive by a bunch of liberal crybabies.

No one can stop you from sharing Gods word....except you. No matter where you are in the world, it's just another setting to share the good news of salvation. It isn't the world I fear. I'm much more concerned about doing what God tells me to do in His word. The world needs the light of salvation since so many are drowning in darkness. The thing I fear the most is hearing God ask me...."Why didn't you tell them?" ....as I see so many burning below. I don't want to be responsible for one soul that was lost because I didn't tell them the truth. For their own sake, I'll tell them any way I can. I have no way of doing anything huge or grand to reach people. But I do what I can in the small ways I can each day. Through writing, singing and sharing about my life. I let them know the way. Now, what they choose to do with that is entirely their responsibility.

This is a beautiful song...the first time I heard it was back on 2006 when I started dialysis I'm almost die 4 times at the hospital in the ER, during surgery, ICU, and during my during my first dialysis treatment...and I'm still here 13 years later going on 14 on May 31st next month..I lost my husband on January 15th of 2006 then I have to start working for my 4 year old son and three months later I ended up in dialysis due to depression of my husband passing. And I thank my Lord for giving me another chance to live and be there for my son that right now he's 18 years old and about to graduate this year from high school thanks for the support of all my family and friends that never left me by myself. God bless all of you and thank for having you all in my life.
my grandpa sang this song all the time at church before he died of lung cancer about seven years ago. everytime i hear this song i can see and hear the most vivid memory of him up there with his guitar praising God. that last verse-- when Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, and lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart! and i will bow in humblr adoration, and then proclaim, my God! how great Thou art!-- i always think of him up in Heaven

Well done Ben, whilst I've often sung this song at other services, I couldn't bring myself to sing a solo for my own family. I'm not sure if courage is the right word but I lack something, again well done hopefully I can emulate you.

When a singer like CARRIE UNDERWOOD, can sing a song like this, n, make you cry everytime u hear it, thinking of the way Carrie sings it, thats one hect of singer. I love her songs. ALL OF THEM. She is the true American Idol, in my opinion to date......Besides Loretta Lynn, Martina McBride, she is the greatest country music singer ever, in my opinion

A great classic and sang by someone who shows the power of GOD and Jesus his one and only son.... We Christians can't let this great country that was founded on CHRISTIAN principles be taken away from us. Many people say that many of the greatest people in the BIBLE were frowned upon by God to start with but became great servants of his. This I'm hoping is what Trump will become as he does the things that are needed in this country to stop this runaway debt, putting people back to work and taking care of the people who have gave their all to give us the right to be free and serve the Lord who have given us such a great country to live in.
