5:10:57 this hit so hard, I’ve had multiple nightmares about the flood invading earth but never thought about anyone else having similar nightmares. Genuinely terrifies me
Hahaha my cousin had nightmares about them when we were kids, he wasn’t allowed to play Halo after that. Funny as it never really disturbed me until I got older and understood what they truly were
@@ryanzaman6592 Does make you rethink everything doesn't it? Even now the flood are not something to be taken lightly. Fun fact about the crazed marine on 343 Guilty Spark. You were suppose to hear a pistol shot after leaving the room and if you returned to investigate you would find the marine dead. This got cut tho because they thought it was a bit too dark.

Compare that with the modern games where every enemy needs to have the potential to kill you on their own. That just makes it feel like I need to cheese the combat as opposed to those earlier games where strategy was how to win the fights against enemies
Here we are the Ultimate Halo iceberg we've come a long way ladies and gentlemen, and thank you Nikos for giving us this amazing series. (P.S) Congrats on 25k subs!!!
Just wanted to share the undead scarab has two types. The one in the video is when you kill it before it spawns on the building, locking the level due to it not being destroyed after scripts and triggers are hit. However, in coop, one person can pass the tanks and get downhill quickly. The person on the scarab takes out the legs holding onto a side turret, as the person driving downhill gets to the fight area (the trigger is shortly after the last cliff faces). Destroying the scarab right after it gets to the ground will cause the undead glitch, and allows you to finish the level.
40:17 Another way to get the Elephant flipped is to jam a Wraith into its vehicle bay. I don’t know how, bur someone did that in one of my games, and the Elephant just went crazy. It was jittering and tumbling everywhere, sometimes enough to let you see the flip message and flip the thing, which would make it even more erratic. If you tried to drive the Elephant, you couldn’t really control it, and you’d die after several seconds (presumably from the physics, but the game said suicide iirc)
One crazy thing that happened to me on Halo 3 was when I shot a sniper bullet down the rocket launcher alley on The Pit, no one was there but I got a headshot kill, so I went into the theatre to see what happened and my bullet killed someone at the back of the map near the shotgun room but the bullet went into the wall and came out another wall headshotting this poor player. I have a personal theory for why Cortana becomes evil so suddenly in Halo 5. I believe that the Forerunner technology she used to repair herself, was actually the same technology used by the Didact, you know, the heretic Forerunner. So, after she had repaired herself, her systems instantly absorbed all this false information from the Didact, how the Mantle of Responsibility was suppose to go to the Forerunners, how the Halo rings could solve the Flood problem and so on and so on, and this event specifically is what caused her to resent all life, and become some sort of dictator for all machines.
I don't think she ever cured her rampancy and that's the answer - she transferred into a Forerunner framework which basically let her go super rampant without the previous constraints of her human-made matrix which would have killed her.
I've been watching this for the past two days while playing through Halo 3 and Reach and it's like reading a book and watching its movie adaptation at the same time. Great video, definitely going to keep up with this channel
The 7 dead marines on Guilty Spark are intentional I believe. All you have to do is descend the elevator into the facility and then immediately take the elevator back up. The reason I think they’re intentional is because not only does the game unload all corpses that you killed when you enter the facility, but it also spawns new covenant corpses in select locations. All with the same death positions as most set dressing corpses in the game. Same with the 7 marines. I wanna say there’s even some blue blood accompanying the dead grunts that spawn but I can’t remember for certain
About palmer, i hated her too at first but then i read i think it was called bloodline? when Buck first encountered her where she was holding off covenant forces while protecting her wounded squad by her self with nothing but dual magnums. To me it kinda redeemed her character showing even with certain defeat she'll fight until she cant to protect her men. which i respect
When i was younger i had a nightmare about halo, all i remember is being in a crater filled with tiny indents/caves and i was in one of them along with the master chief and two covenant aliens in robes (i think they were grunts) and master chief said to me "im sorry, it has to be done". Im pretty sure the chief and the aliens teamed up to commit a genocide of children and were going to kill me.
Maybe I missed it, but it’s odd that I didn’t see the Corruption skull on Halo 3’s Cortana mission mentioned in the video. On Cortana, there’s a second hidden skull easily accessible using a deployable cover that, when picked up, corrupts your games save data, completely erasing your campaign progress. I don’t know what the actual name of this skull is. But my friends and I just always called it the Corruption Skull.

You know something that always bothered me? The way everybody says "Orbital Drop Shock Trooper" for some reason. Everyone says it like "Orbital Drop-Shock Trooper" with Drop Shock combined into a phrase, when it should be "Orbital-Drop Shock-Trooper." They are Orbitally Dropped, and they are Shock Troops (meaning a unit meant to spearhead an attack). Pairing the words properly like that is correct. It's super nitpicky but man I've never heard it said correctly once.
4:55:00 I definitely remember this screamer video from my childhood, I thought earlier in the iceberg when you were talking about seeing inside Master Chief's helmet you were going to mention this jump scare from early youtube. @@CompostGaming I didn’t get it at all cuz I was a kid, so I don’t know if you were missing much. But everything feels magical when you’re kid and the dvd with the figures was fun to play with
I’ve seen a good theory that the Meddlers Species was actually the Endless, as the new Halo Encyclopaedia says that a small fracture of the Endless escaped the Forerunners imprisonment and went across the galaxy to other Forerunners facilities, searching for ways to free their kind. If this is true, this only brings up another question, what caused their ship to crash?
You know, I said to myself "If Arby n the Chief and Gears of Halo Theft Auto 5 isn't on here, I'm going to be disappointed". I'm glad you added both yourself. Grew up on the halo machinima's back in the day.
In regards to dual wielding energy swords in halo 2, this can be modded in, even on an original Xbox. It can be done with any weapon , even a BR or a Shotgun. However, if you try and swing the sword you will drop the 2nd sword immediately, so you can hold 2 swords but only ever use 1
I saw a Halo ghost back in the Halo 3 era on a custom game with some of my friends. We were playing Teacher, which involved a custom map made on Foundry. There were two "teams," one with all the "students" and the other with the "teacher." As a student you had to listen to the teacher and do whatever they said while trying to escape the school or kill the teacher. We spawned in one round, and there was a random spartan without a name that was the "teacher" that just stood where it had spawned. We knew about ghosts, so we got really excited because even as a group of adolescents that practically no-lifed the game for hours a day, none of us had seen one before. It stood still until someone would take any aggressive action against it, then it would slide, not walk, over to them and kill them with the gravity hammer it spawned in with. It was pretty wild. If I remember correctly the consensus back then was that Bungie used ghosts to play test maps in various Halo games and sometimes forgot to delete the code associated with them, but seeing as they hardly ever spawned in they didn't feel the need to patch it. I have a hazier memory of seeing one on Sandtrap at a later date, but I can barely recall it and it might just be a "false memory."
Wow I finally finished watching this. Amazing job, I was entertained the whole time. I know I'll watch this again in a few months when I forget most of the entries. Bravo
1:06:05 You unlocked a memory by telling this!!! I remember playing with some dudes from Spain that loved playing parkour maps (the ones with an infected player following you), and one day they decided it was a great idea for everyone to play as elites 😅... Soon realized we were too tall to make it through a crouching spot 😂😂 we were all deceased by laughter!!!
Great video ! The one at 4:12:20, the backtracking dead marines on 343 guilty spark is surely on purpose because there is covies bodies in there too that weren't there. And they are placed really like a scenery. I discoverded that a year ago after 20 years playing this game
holy mackerel dude. ive been listening to this over the last few days and im just thinking how the images, screenshots, and sources must have taken so much work. serious props to you to get all this information in one place. one of the halo community legends imo.
Thanks! It took months of diligent work plus resolving numerous rendering errors that plagued the final upload, I’m glad you like it and thank you for the kind words!
Packet loss is actually a major issue with 5g internet today because of how it traverses through the network for "enhanced content" so if you do a connection/internet connection test on your xbox and it gives you "packet loss" you should probably fix that before playing anymore because this could be considered "cheating" by some games anti-cheat software (i know from experience when i logged in one day to battlefield to a 2 week ban message for intentional laging and DDOSing of software)
this is the best iceberg video ive ever seen, the fact its so jampacked with stuff is insane. Edit: i played through the og halos so i didnt spoil any info so im here to finish the video
13:17 There actually are only 7 in the current array, however, there were either 12 or 13 in the Greater Halo array that were destroyed by the flood soon after their creation, due to them being created within the galaxy. That is why the lesser Ark is located outside the galaxy, and the lesser Halo array was deployed only a short while before their firing.
I just had brain surgery for an aneurysm. The whole time I was laying in my bed I was watching this video. Thank you for keeping me entertained it means a lot :)
I know this is a pointless nitpick, but MoistCritikals’s challenge was LASO deathless except for one skull that actually helps you, which I can’t remember the name of. That is the most difficult the game can possibly be. Awesome vid man!
I don't think it's coincidence the amount of HALO 2 music that's in this video, even at this length. I still think it has far and away the best story, campaign, and score of the entire series.
Something I didn't see mentioned is that you can hijack the Anti-Air wraith at the beginning of the Covenant in Halo 3! You simply have to melee off the hatch with the pilot in it, and hold down the board button while you kill the pilot with a precision weapon. You'll hop into the wraith but it will explode once you exit
I believe the reason that the chief is referred to as "cyborg" in the code might be connected to marathon since in those games you play as a cyborg, also at some point halo was supposed to be a marathon game, idk if they had even written a single line of code before they changed their minds but if they did it would make sense if the player character was one of the first things they created and thus got the cyborg name since that was what they were supposed to be at that point in development.
Are you sure that the markings on the magnum are a reference to its power? you mentioned that the weapon became so powerful due to a last minute change so its seems unlikely that they would have changed the textures as well. Considering that one of the markings means "7" and one means "Power" i would say that its more likely to be a reference to "The Power of Seven" which is the group that created the "Marathon 2: Durandal" theme song.
im surprised noone's said this but i remember on a halo 2 mission i glitched through a glass door and into a banshee that the enemy was supposed to get into, breaking the level
If you turn on subtitles on Halo Reach, for the cutscene where there's a "discrepancy" for Jorge because of his accent, it clearly says ma'am. People who have been confused about this for SOOO long just don't know how to turn on subtitles🤦♂️
Idk if this is the actual reason, but older televisions and monitors back in the day were prone to "bleeding". The gameplay previews when idling on the title screen is functionally just a screensaver.
The Halo CE pistol being a last minute change has been debunked several times. And it's not nearly as OP as it's memed to be. Though it is certainly more than a little unbalanced.
Even though I 2x speeded this video, can’t believe I sat through it. Fantastic job! One thing that should’ve been added early in the iceberg was probably halo cosmetics being featured in Among Us when the game launched on Xbox
I gotta say, I have a very distinct memory of being in Forge World as a kid, and seeing a random jetpack pickup in the middle of the canyon (can’t remember the actual name off my head). I didn’t place it there, and it was split screen and I didn’t see my friend place it there. Was it a glitch? Probably. But I really like to believe it was the ghost of Forge World
Oh, about that Master Chief screamer video. I actually remember that as a kid. I was scrolling through RUclips as a kid up past my bedtime and was searching for Master Chief’s face, and I saw one of those videos. It was this like grotesque screaming woman with black hair and red skin, so it looked pretty bloody. Scared the shit out of me. I think there might have been other videos, too, but idk. That's all I remember. The best time I can date this is like early 2014, late 2013, but I don't remember the specifics.

i have a slight crazy encounter from halo 2 back in the early 2000's. During the mission where in amber clad crashes into high charity and the flood start spilling out. i actually remember encountering the juggernaut as soon as the cut scene finished and mission gameplay started. I remember being killed instantly and thinking man theres no way imma be able to beat this mission. BUT, it didnt respawn nor did i ever encounter it again years following. so flash to me watching videos like these as an adult and seeing that what i thought was just my imagination an actually enemy surprised me. If anyone had a similar experience back in the day or can explain how thats possible let me know. thanks
It's the ghost in the machine spawning cut content, not the first time I've heard of people "remembering" impossible things from old games, I'm not saying it didn't happen I believe it But it's literally impossible and that's what makes it fantastical in the awe-some sense of the word So cool that you had this experience, they can be restored on halo 2 PC btw if you technically hack the game

@@CompostGaming I didn’t get it at all cuz I was a kid, so I don’t know if you were missing much. But everything feels magical when you’re kid and the dvd with the figures was fun to play with
1:53:37 I remember a discussion that was on the Halo Discord server about this, and Red vs Blue was one of the few *everyone* agreed upon.
@@CommissarChaotic Go Off.
@@CommissarChaotic what are you even talking about?
This ice berg must decend to the earths core DAMN THATS BIG
This is without a shadow of a doubt my favourite video on RUclips, massive props my man this must’ve taken a fuck load of research / editing ❤
Wow I finally finished watching this. Amazing job, I was entertained the whole time. I know I'll watch this again in a few months when I forget most of the entries. Bravo
Thanks, appreciate you watching!
@@Nikos. Hi. I just watched it again. It's so good dude thank you so much for this.
Don't let this 5 hour masterpiece distract you from the fact that Noble 6 is alive in a cave somewhere on Reach.
idk man he got jumped and it ain’t look survivable to me
1:06:05 You unlocked a memory by telling this!!!
Man hit me in the nostalgia with using in game halo to talk to us i love it man
Cant imagine how much work went into this. Thanks for the video, much appreciated!
Anytime, thanks!
The absolute joy of being reminded about Arby and the Chief I felt was worth every second of watch time. Stellar work man
Great video !
The one at 4:12:20, the backtracking dead marines on 343 guilty spark is surely on purpose because there is covies bodies in there too that weren't there. And they are placed really like a scenery.
I discoverded that a year ago after 20 years playing this game
It probably is, but weird because most players wouldn't go that direction
But for those who did, it adds a level of horror, just like the elevator exploding if you try to go backward after the cutscene
holy mackerel dude. ive been listening to this over the last few days and im just thinking how the images, screenshots, and sources must have taken so much work. serious props to you to get all this information in one place. one of the halo community legends imo.
Thanks! It took months of diligent work plus resolving numerous rendering errors that plagued the final upload, I’m glad you like it and thank you for the kind words!
I was watching the Ultimate HALO ICEBERG video you made at this moment... More 5 hours of content lesgo
You planned this, didn't you
thanks for making me not have to worry about finding something to listen to for my whole shift
Any time, hope your shift went well
Packet loss is actually a major issue with 5g internet today because of how it traverses through the network for "enhanced content" so if you do a connection/internet connection test on your xbox and it gives you "packet loss" you should probably fix that before playing anymore because this could be considered "cheating" by some games anti-cheat software (i know from experience when i logged in one day to battlefield to a 2 week ban message for intentional laging and DDOSing of software)
this is the best iceberg video ive ever seen, the fact its so jampacked with stuff is insane.
Edit: i played through the og halos so i didnt spoil any info so im here to finish the video
Thanks!
This is wild, thanks for sharing!
I just had brain surgery for an aneurysm. The whole time I was laying in my bed I was watching this video. Thank you for keeping me entertained it means a lot :)
You're very welcome, I'm glad you liked it. Hope you make a speedy recovery
I know this is a pointless nitpick, but MoistCritikals’s challenge was LASO deathless except for one skull that actually helps you, which I can’t remember the name of. That is the most difficult the game can possibly be. Awesome vid man!
Thanks! I guess it removes a skull that buffs the player, that would make the game more challenging I suppose and makes since to remove it.
You’ve got it flipped. Master Chief wasn’t inspired by the GM Spartan from Gundam. The design of the GM Spartan first appeared in 2021.
That’s incorrect, it originally came out in 1989.
Nothing better than a 5 hour video for my day off
I don't think it's coincidence the amount of HALO 2 music that's in this video, even at this length.
I still think it has far and away the best story, campaign, and score of the entire series.
The score is amazing fs
Something I didn't see mentioned is that you can hijack the Anti-Air wraith at the beginning of the Covenant in Halo 3!
You simply have to melee off the hatch with the pilot in it, and hold down the board button while you kill the pilot with a precision weapon. You'll hop into the wraith but it will explode once you exit
I remember this trick! Could never pull it off as a kid!
This does hold weight, it is likely that that was the original plan
All Spartans are cyborgs, that's what enhancements mean
i usually dont write comments but this is so impressive that it deserves all the algorithm boost it can get
Are you sure that the markings on the magnum are a reference to its power? you mentioned that the weapon became so powerful due to a last minute change so its seems unlikely that they would have changed the textures as well.
That's right! I remember hearing this somewhere long ago, thanks for reminding me
The Halo CE pistol being a last minute change has been debunked several times. And it's not nearly as OP as it's memed to be. Though it is certainly more than a little unbalanced.
I have never seen this many 'most replayed' in a video before
As master chief once said: "now this is epic."
I love how Halsey and Cortana are both super-geniuses but they both fail to grasp how probability works
Even though I 2x speeded this video, can’t believe I sat through it. Fantastic job! One thing that should’ve been added early in the iceberg was probably halo cosmetics being featured in Among Us when the game launched on Xbox
Oh man I forgot about that cross over, thanks for watching and glad you liked it!
Probably. But I really like to believe it was the ghost of Forge World
It's beautiful. I'm going to watch the entire thing.
Listening to this while driving felt a bit like going on a road trip with a friend.
Glad you enjoyed it, hope the drive was good
Only just starting this, but MASSIVE props for the dedication this must have taken, absolutely amazing work!
No doubt!!
Thanks! It took countless hours and I had to upload it twice due to the first render being busted.
This was one of the most fun 5 hours of my life and for that I thank you
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it
bro, that bonobo one is so insane. It sounds like such a stretch, but also makes so much sense.
I love watching icebergs as I sleep, I rewind every night to the last part I remember so I’m so glad I found a new one to listen to!! You gained a new subscriber. I know it took a lot of work so keep it up 🙏

i hate that this hasn’t received more attention and that i’m so late to the party, not even an hour in and i’m enthralled. thank you to the incredible talent that brought this to us!
I’m new to the Halo franchise and actually needed a video like this thank you!! 💕
Anytime!
This was an amazing. I sat and listened to this while I was grinding out the new season 5 battle pass and trying to get to the hero rank. Love your production quality. I feel your love for halo in this vid
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed and hope you’re liking season 5
i have a slight crazy encounter from halo 2 back in the early 2000's. If anyone had a similar experience back in the day or can explain how thats possible let me know. thanks
It's the ghost in the machine spawning cut content, not the first time I've heard of people "remembering" impossible things from old games, I'm not saying it didn't happen I believe it
But it's literally impossible and that's what makes it fantastical in the awe-some sense of the word
So cool that you had this experience, they can be restored on halo 2 PC btw if you technically hack the game
it may have taken multiple days but I have just finished watching this video all the way to the end
Thanks for watching to the end, hope you enjoyed!
