I'm 54 now, looking to this vid. Saw a young Patti. She was beautiful back then. Plastic surgery is not keeping her face young, it's making her less beautiful. It's not bad to get a small wrinkle here and there because every small wrinkle is telling it's own story. All the surgery faces a looking alike in the US. I am glad that she didn't had her lipps filled up with fillers as so many women did and still do. It's so ugly.
Patti, just be your beautiful self, we all are getting older, it's okay. Not one woman on earth doesn't have a small wrinkle around the eyes, or forehead or where ever at the age of 54. Dying hair and some natural make up is enough to still look beautiful because beauty is comming from the inside. Shining and glowing with a happy soul makes ppl beautiful IMHO, not plastic surgery.
Her solo albums are really unbelievable... Spanish Dancer still makes me cry.
Rumble Doll is one of the most underrated albums, in my opinion.

Patti is a great singer all 3 albums are brilliant. She is devoted to Bruce & has made him a good wife. She is on the River 2016 tour, and I hope she plays all the European shows, now the kids are older.
I love Patti! I'm impressed with how she and Bruce have managed to raise their kids with as normal a family life as possible given the circumstances of their fame and wealth. And I love her solo albums! What a great songwriter! "Play it as it Lays" is one of my favorite albums of all time. Outstanding! I still listen to it regularly.

Good, quick, interview. There is no way for anyone to understand what the life of these people is like. She couldn't explain, and neither could he, what happens when your entire existence is based on what others perceive what your life is. No matter what they say, there is someone misunderstanding or interpreting it. The price for this level of stardom is heavy! If you like the music, either his or hers or both, THAT IS ENOUGH!
I want to know her! I love her voice and I am new to her music. I'm now obsessed with Rumble Doll and her Plat It As It Lays newer works. (What a cool title, Rumble Doll!) Rock on Bruce...you and Patti are fantastic artists.
I saw Springsteen on Broadway in December 2017. She came on the stage and she did a couple of songs with Bruce - she was excellent.🎤🎸👍

@@hibeeinkirk - Understood- it was very expensive. However, Tom Petty died that fall - we were born the same year. Consequently, I decided that Springsteen may never do a Broadway show again so I was going and hang the expense. As they said in the 1960s - seize the day.🎤🎸

I’ll never criticize anyone for their musical taste bc our ears are like our tastebuds, so both are uniquely selective. This gives all musicians a chance fortunately. But I honestly like her sounds VERY much & would enjoy more music from Patty, who to me has never been an underdog :) As my late Dad often said: to each their own. That being said, I L♥️VE her voice & style🎵. ~

Patti is a successful singer/songwriter all on her own, even before becoming a member of the E Street Band. Very few can achieve the success that Bruce has that doesn't lessen their own talents any. Nils Lofgren and Miami Steve (Little Steven) both had successes on their own and both have a home as E Streeters that in no way diminishes their solo work. Much of Bruce's talent is not just his song writing but the talent he brings in to join him. Where would he have been if Scooter didn't have the Big Man? The often heart rending piano of Professor Roy Bittan, Mighty Max on the drums and the always stoic Gary Tallant on bass.
Give "Red" her props the Boss always does.

The point is, in love, mistakes are inevitable. If you truly love someone, you forgive and don't let it ruin the love you have for someone. Don't judge on the mistakes Bruce made when he was younger, focus on the look in his eye when he's looking at Patti. That should be more than enough explanation. I really hope to love the way Bruce and Patti do one day, and though it won't be for a while, love takes patients. So I'll gladly wait, and know one day about ten years from now it will be worth it.

I remember this interview from when it first aired. It's fantastic. You're right, I wish she'd record Magic on her own. The reporter summed it up right, "She's amazing."
She has the most beautiful voice. Especially in some of the songs during the changes in relationships. Some of those songs I love. When you first see her in the band and it was like Yeah, cool, wow!

How could anyone call Patti Yoko? I don't like her music that much but I respect that she's pretty talented. Come on fuckin yoko couldn't play or sing. Patti can do that I'm just not that into her music. I love when she sings with Bruce. Especially Brilliant Disguise. The acoustic version to me is the most definitive version of that song.
Patti and Bruce got together somewhere in the aftermath of his marriage to Julie. Seems obvious to me that Bruce is letting his wife has some limelight as a reward for supporting him in the ways he needed. They've lasted 25+ years... that's nothing to sneer at. Bruce could have anything he wants -- I'd say it's safe to assume she's what he wants.

Patti Scialfa is Italian, her strength and her sweetness together are purely Italian; Bruce is half Italian, his Band is (was) half Italian (Danny Federici, Steve VanZandt - despite his adopted son's surname, descent, face and purely Italian characteristics. In short, they are a Beautiful Couple that comes from that old New Jersey Italian of the Greasers. Augh!, I said

Bruce and Patti are both half Italian and half Irish. In fact Patti's mom was from Belfast. In his memoir Bruce talks about the two sides of his family and growing up surrounded by relatives that all lived on the same block- literally in the shadow of the church, catholic school, and nun's convent. In fact his home was torn down to make parking space for the church.

I'm the guy who wrote Born in the USA. I gave the lyrics to Steven Van Zandt in 1982. Steven came to my mother's home in Sonoma California, he met my mother and sister and we sat by the pool. Bruce and Patti, like my parents, are already past about 20 years, even though my dad like Bruce was married before. He was a lot younger then (19 years old), and he and his first wife had three kids. After they split up, he met my mom. They dated for three days, and were engaged on the third night. Now, 20 years later, they're still married, and have my little sister and I too

I want to like her but i can’t get past her seducing Bruce when he was married to Julieanne. Julie made Patti so welcome and supported her in the band. It was as a stab in the back for that poor girl.

Robert Plant and Mick Jagger are estimated have body counts of 4000 plus in their career as front men according to their roadies. And paternity cases etc. as we know... They must had to take a lot of penicillin!. Plus a lot of diminishment in their fortunes.. It's not the path of the wise. I don't think Bruce was like this, and was pretty much a monogamist who just stuck to one girlfriend, but I'm sure he wasn't a Saint, & caved in to temptation sometimes when he was young.
