    Been all through Oklahoma and Texas fishing for catfish. Personally I'll only eat it cubed, spiced and deep fried. I've tried them all. The fun comes with the catch. I've done noodling, trotline, etc... Amazing how big these fish get as the water temperature rises over the years. There's some monsters out there!!

  • @rtshort
    @rtshort 5 лет назад +1

    I like to put the seasoning right on the meat and use an unseasoned coating.
    The fish soaks up the seasoning pretty good though, so if you try it, you might want to do a few test pieces first. :)

    Catfish taste amazing, I have cooked it for several people that swear they hate it lol but I can barely keep it on the napkin after its out the fryer each time each person eats a ton and I typically catch clean and cook as well, there is nothing like fresh caught catfish.

    Mav the issue with the stove is that you can not turn a propane tank on its top because liquid propane comes out which is extremely dangerous. Always leave em on there bottoms or tipped on its side

    First fish needed to take it more. They hit the minnow and then they swallow it head first. That’s when you set the hook. At the second run.

    LMAO!!!! The rabbits name is, "Muskie Bait." I knew there was a reason I like you.
    We had my late wife's sister, my sister in law, living with us for awhile. She had a wiener dog named, Lady. The little dog would waddle into the kitchen and I'd say to her, "Lady.... bark bark, Lady do you want to go fishing? bark bark. Lady do you want to go see someone about some teeth? bark bark bark bark. My late wife and I would die laughing and my poor sister in law would get upset. She actually was worried that I'd try to use the dog as muskie bait. This was 20 years ago and I'm still laughing. Nice to see you have the same sense of humor.

    I love fish. That being said, catfish is my least favorite. I did have it one time that I could eat it skit really depends on the size the cleaning and how it's cooked. The book told me to make it spicy with some red pepper and that helped. Fun watching your videos.

    No Mav, it's not better than Walleye and I eat lots of catfish. Being down here in Texas, I would give almost anything for a Walleye. So long as you remove the dark meat it is good. All my opinion though. Speaking of my opinion, nothing beats a Bluegill!

    You over cooked it. What kind of oil did you use. Oil should have been at least 350 degrees. Forget the Cajin, a simple dredge in a mixture of flour and cornmeal.. Salt & pepper only. A side of hush puppies with onions & jalapeno's would be good.
