Frankie Valli is a living legend. He preformed this past July at the 4th of July celebration in Washington DC to standing ovations. A National Treasure.
Thank you for mentioning the Fourth of July concert I was curious enough from your conversation to look it up and it's great to watch and I can't stop watching it and I would not have known about it if not for your mentioning of it in your comment so thank you
I don't know about anybody else but this song always leaves a lump in my throat when hearing it. Can't understand just why it does but I love it just the same!!
Just an awesome composition from Bob Gordio...and sung to perfection by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons! The story behind this song gives it that much more power and meaning. Classic music that always brings tears to my eyes while listening!
+Russell A. Worrell ah my mom loved all the motown and harmony groups, the four seasons also, I liked the rythem of the song, but later listening to it the end of verse words such a pretty face should be dressed in lace, I have known a few natural pretty girls, but they were poor, and though not in handme downs could have been a real knockout if they could have went for better threads, some just did not care and dressed to work with their hands like one of the guys and they could do good just the same, like they studied auto mechanics and building trades and so on, and of the several they were from the contry so they were not afraid to get their hands dirty, but they would have looked so nice if they dressed up a bit more. I like franky valley and the four seasons, but I liked the surf rock and car songs a bit more like jan and dean, and beachboys, but I do like many old groups, and I still like some new songs but of the newer I like the more dance music style, like ellie golding, capital cities, and bruno mars as such, they might not write as good of songs, but they can still sing nice, anyway the 80's are the music I loved and grew up with as a little kid, and many of the old bands still turned out hits back then. oh and I like ice skating its fun but I focus more on speedskating and the high speed and control they have, and those long sword lenght skate blades on they skates.
this has got to be one of the most remarkable records i have ever seen or heard, not because of frankie, but the gifted singing, musical composition, the coriography from the band members, and the special skating from Yuka Sato, you are watching true Magic !!
Just can't say enough praises for this current lineup of background singers and musicians that perform these classic 4 Seasons hits to the tee. And of course Mr. Frankie V. sounds pretty damn good too, after all of these years. He and those original Jersey Boys gave us so much great music . Thanks skarid for all these fine posts.
I think thats my most favorite song they sang...I have seen the Jersey Boys in New York.... and had the great oppertunity to see Frankie Valli this summer here in Kansas Ctiy---and he is still going at 76----thats talent--sing it man!!!!!!!
I love how Frankie Valli still sings these songs. His voice may not be able to reach its soaring heights anymore, but the way he changes the key keeps it amazing.
My favourite song when I was a teen in the sixties and I also ice skated 7 days a week. This video brings back a lot of memories. LoveFrankie Vali and the 4 Seasons. ❤️💜🥰😷
Truly marvelous! Thank you, Bob Gaudio, and thank you, Frankie Valli. And Yuka Sato, beautiful and fluid on the ice! Thank you, Yuka. I listened to Rag Doll as a teenager, and now I'm considerably older than that and that song still gets me. Again, thanks to all who made this possible.
I have spent alot of time with Frankie Valli. He is a class act, a true gentlemen and always accessible to fans. Some of his former band members were not the most motivated people in the world to say the least!
wow. frankie still goin strong. Love the original 4 seasons and this version has great harmony as well. Plus a amazing show with a beautiful skater. Very well done.
What a glorious majestic song. Bob Gaudio bounced around trying to get this song. Dawn, Walk Like A Man, etc. were just failed attempts to reach this crescendo of sorrow and joy.
Rag Doll was the A side. It shot from Pick Hit to #1 in one week on 77WABC New York. Silence Is Golden was the B side. The Tremeloes had a big hit with a cover of it.
die Sato aus Japan ist der absolute Star in dem Video-----ich hoffe, sie liest das mal. sie war auch weltmeisterin im eiskunslauf.. danke für die vorstellung
Personally I think Walk Like A Man is the best Seasons song, but Frankie and these guys did an awesome job here - 40+ years later and sounds so close to the original record, it's amazing. Kudos
Frankie and Yuka rock this song! Great backup, too, Frankie. I wanna see "Jersey Boys," but it don't have Frankie, so I'll pass, I think. Thanks, Bob, for writing that song. Brings me back to the beach when I was a lil' kid, and yes, I did wear some hand-me-downs (didn't we all?).
This Guy what do you say, in my local pub a couple of weeks ago, and this show caught my eye, on sat, Could not hear it, as pub to busy, Thanks. skarld
When you hear a story like this it sort of makes you wonder what ever happened to the poor girl the song was based on, if she ever really knew the song on the radio was about her, what she spent the money he gave her on...geez this story could make a heck of movie of the week for a cable network wouldn't it?
He is great as a singer and I have most of the Seasons music. However, Frankie Valli is a loser as a father. He's been married and divorced three times with his children always sitting and waiting at home for him to show up.
Frankie Vallie is a legend. His voice is a Gift to Humanity. Thank you for your talent.
A beautiful woman skating to a beautiful song ,you can't ask for more
His backup singers hit the highnotes, but he still has a cool distinctive sounding voice. Loved his voice my whole life.
i couldnt think of anything more sensational, than watching franki valli and yuka sato on the same stage.....two incredible talents
Frankie Valli is a living legend. He preformed this past July at the 4th of July celebration in Washington DC to standing ovations. A National Treasure.
I was there, it was so great to see him live.
Thank you for mentioning the Fourth of July concert I was curious enough from your conversation to look it up and it's great to watch and I can't stop watching it and I would not have known about it if not for your mentioning of it in your comment so thank you

This was always my favorite song by the Four Seasons - so cool to learn the story behind it. Thanks for sharing!

A classic song and a super skating job!
All of this singing, playing music, and skating are spot on perfect!
Frankie Valli needs to go to the studio to remaster this song
This is the best song by The Four Seasons This is great inlcuding the skater which gives something more to this performance

Would like to see Ballroom Dancers Couples or Rhythmic Gymnasts do routines to this music.
His music is so smooth, polished and harmonious.

Yuka Sato's choreography for Rag Doll is inspired.
No, very ordinary.
Inspired by the music. Her movements illustrate the score.
Ordinary difficulty (for a world class skater) beautifully suited to the music and executed with mastery.
What he did was something amazing, even for somebody in New York.
Love it......
a pretty song. the skater fits well with the song. red is my color.
its cool to know the inspo for this song
A true amaerican Classic. They just dont sing like this anymore!!!!
Excelente !!!!
Wow!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
GOOD ONE
This Guy what do you say, in my local pub a couple of weeks ago, and this show caught my eye, on sat, Could not hear it, as pub to busy, Thanks. skarld
i know we will get through this
@Supermassively
Figure skating is great. Yuka Sato and Frankie Vali combine their talents to make a great video.
Was that Crowley from supernatural on drums? It looks like him and he's a drummer
Frankie got lucky that night
When you hear a story like this it sort of makes you wonder what ever happened to the poor girl the song was based on, if she ever really knew the song on the radio was about her, what she spent the money he gave her on...geez this story could make a heck of movie of the week for a cable network wouldn't it?
12 years late on this reply but, Agree Sir as I wondered about the same!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
for you warriors at the KC.
What's the name of the jumping twist she does shortly after 3:44?
It occurs at three mins, fourty six seconds.
Franki got luck that night
I like the jump she does shortly after 2:48. What's it called?
The schmucks who roam the world, looking for opportunities to clap on the off-beat at gigs, found their way into this one.
Are those the Osmonds ????
@bradleyaustinspurlin she prob had parents and a home and as poor as she might have been she was mabey really loved x
you kind of get gyped here. he doesn't hit that high note like in the original recording.
1:06
Not really singing, its a recorded track of his voice, great song
So these guys got rich for something the poor girl did... I hope she did better too or that is just sad.
The voice has gone!
He is great as a singer and I have most of the Seasons music. However, Frankie Valli is a loser as a father. He's been married and divorced three times with his children always sitting and waiting at home for him to show up.
Cute little story.sounds like bullshit.
Except that it isn't 'The Four Seasons' it's 'The Jersey Boys.'
It is a very nice song
