My favorite episode of the series, Rick really becomes everything that Shane was, only difference is Rick did it off of circumstance and Shane did it off of expectation. Season 5 is just PHENOMENAL
Stop saying this retarded sh*t. Shane was insane who would have thrown anyone and everyone who wasn't Carl or Lori into a horde of walkers to save himself. Rick is not like that, at any point.
it's so sad seeing carl looking traumatized after what happened but it's also so sweet seeing how protective and comforting michonne is for him. he spent that entire night resting his head in her lap. 😢
I’ve been waiting for this one! Rick biting Joes neck is easily the most badass moment in TWD universe. Such a great episode. Season 5 is the best season! Excited to see those reactions! Next episode is a top 2-3 episode of all time
The Hershel flashbacks was to show the birth of Farmer Rick (as fans called him) The rest of the episode was showing the death of Farmer Rick and the rebirth of the Warrior.
they would have understand that if they wasnt talking to much about other things during the Story telling Part. Still talking about carl and how he feels when it happen 5 minutes ago. it cool to do that but at lease pause the show so you dont miss out on things
Fun Fact: When Rick was cleaning the blood from his face the rag got stuck on the blood around his mouth and pulled out clumps of his beard. Andrew Lincoln is such a good actor that he carried on through the pain to finish the scene without reshoots.
When Rick suddenly knocked that plate out the woman’s hand he saw the orange backpack Glenn’s riot gear being worn and Daryl’s poncho and the watch he knew something was up.
Rick brought out his savage with that Claimer group when he bit Joe’s throat you don’t mess with his boy I love the scene where he and Daryl are talking about all that happened afterwards and Rick told him you’re my brother.
Damn! I wish you guys had the version where Rick said "...they're *f*cking* with the wrong people" lol Sooo much more "alpha" energy in that version! Nothing like an accurately smooth and precise use of the f-bomb lol Great reaction! This episode was jam-packed with SO many spots that I kept wanting to see your guys' reaction lol Rick & crew did not come to play! - and these folks don't know they just fucked around and are about to find out! lol On to season 5:)
Rick’s arc this season has been amazing It’s all been about him trying to suppress the brutality within himself in order to steer Carl down the right path That’s why he stepped down as leader and threw all his energy into farming He even stopped carrying his gun on him And then everything he’s built starts to unravel The prison falls and Rick sees that Carl never will be the kid he wants him to be And then the ultimate realization that Rick has failed to protect his son from the brutality of the world he’s forced to rip a mans throat out with his teeth to stop Carl being raped Incredible writing.
We shake when our brains are working through traumatic stress in WW1 when soldiers had shell shock from constant bombs dropping the ones who shook properly processed more than the ones who suppressed their feelings. Rick shaking covered in blood is a great opener really great acting
Season 4 has ended rip Hershel, The Governor, Martinez, Shumpert, Mr Richards, Mrs Richards, Ms McLeod, Jeanette, Mr Jacobson, Karen, David, Clara, Patrick, Zach, Henry, Dr S Caleb, Charlie, Ryan, Lizzie, Mika, Luke, Molly, Owen, Eryn, Greg, Noris, Chloe, Julio, Ana, Lilley, Meghan, Joe, Lou, Len, Dan, Billy, Harley and Tony who died this season
Comic Comparisons : First the scene with Joe and the Claimers runs a bit different in the comics Daryl isn’t there because he doesn’t exist in the comics Rick Abraham (instead of Michonne) and Carl are ambushed by three random bandits It’s heavily implied that they’re gonna rape Carl to the point they take off most of Carl’s clothes save for his undergarments The rest of the scene goes as in the show Rick rips one of their throats out with his teeth Abraham kills the other and Rick brutality kills the one who was going to rape Carl Undoubtedly the most skin crawling scene in all of TWD. Second : Terminus doesn’t exist in the comics but the concept of the people do Rick’s line in the comics is They’re fucking with the wrong people but because it’s on TV they had to censor it you can hear Rick say that line on the Blu Ray DVD which features the uncensored version of the Season 4 finale.
Rick has his Murder Jacket and wants his family to survive. @15:00 I think both of you where kinda right about how Carl felt about Rick stabbing that guy i think he was both Traumatized and angry and Cheering rick on Inside.
I think Carl was shook not only by almost getting r*ped and murdered, but also by Rick's intense act of violence. I'm sure anyone witnessing such a SAVAGE act of violence, no less by your parent - your guider, protector, and example/reflection of manhood - who you just recently believed you no longer needed, would go in terms of violence, brought up a mixture of yes, anger at "those sick f*cks and satisfaction/relief at. seeing them put down," but also fear of the previously unseen if not unknown SAVAGERY his father is capable of and maybe some insecurity around whether or not he's capable of the same and what that says about both Rick and himself. I think that's what he meant when he was later when talking to Michonne and says "I'm not who he thinks I am."
I remember watching this episode with my stepbrother when it first aired. His jaw was literally on the floor when Rick bit Joe’s artery out. I just jumped up and cheered.
The first time I've seen you guys trawling your collective memory for detail and coming up with nuttin' - "I think that was Beth's watch and Bob's clown suit!" 🤣Redeemed yourselves spotting all the details in Terminus corale, though! 100% with Chance on the evolution of Carl's stare - and respect to Chandler Riggs' acting, again!, for being able to convey that so convincingly with zero dialogue. Great stuff! Considering Jason's query as to why they didn't show Michonne/Andre catastrophe - I do get it. It's often best to show - not tell. But the groundwork had already been laid with the previous dream sequence for us to see it all. The scene was set so Danai Gurira could use her acting chops to paint a picture we could all see - and IMHO she pulled it off with aplomb. Superb performance and, again, great minimalist but credible reactions from Carl. The way Chandler stays absolutely still and does it all through his face and his eyes. Amazing from such a young actor! Have I ever said I really love this show?
Yall just witnessed one of the best wd moments in the whole series. Rick doing one of the most savage things he does throughout the entire series. Followed by the talk between rick and daryl when he calls him his brother. 100% a stand out episode from the entire series
Yesss as you can imagine… for those of us who watched it as it premiered on tv weekly.. it was a huge fucking struggle having to wait months to find out what happens next… just wait till y’all get to the end of season 6
I'm rewatching The Walking Dead and watching your reactions. I'm definitely watching the an uncut or extended version because in the end Rick says: "They're screwing with the wrong people." Instead in my watch he says: "They're f*cking with the wrong people."
I’m currently keeping up with 2 different channels that are watching the walking dead 😂 You guys are finishing up season 4 while the other channel called “Rob and Trin react” just recently started season 11. Im also watching all the reaction videos to the walking dead Daryl Dixon and the walking dead dead city… I have so much walking dead in my life rn and I love it.
They're fucking with the wrong people is the best version of that end scene! Season 5 is fire and the peak in the show! It dominated television and broke ratings records. Nothin compared and I'm glad I was there live to witness it all. Yes we had to wait months in between seasons and it was torture for sure! Savage Rick is the best Rick! He ate that dudes neck and scared everyone around him, even Daryl laid over the hood of the truck and watched in disbelief. He saw Rick will do anything for his family and that's someone you want to ride with for life
@DukeJimbob I'll have to go back and look at it again but it's actually a new thought. If I remember hearing our host on the left correctly as well as seeing the shovel, it was one or looked like one of those foldable shovels that soldiers carry. Again, I'll have to go back/rewatch the episode(s) or series and pay attention. More likely than not, tanks usually have foldable shovels in its inventory.
Every time I see that brother scene with Daryl and Rick and I can’t help but laugh at Norman purposely not pouring water on that rag for Andrew. Neither broke character. 😂😂😂
As someone who was once a little white boy with lots of anger in him... that is 100% the look I'd have when I was close to snapping. Maybe they didn't mean for it to be rage but anyone who doesn't see, or even feel, the rage in Carl at the end of that scene must be blind.
There is gonna be a new walking dead game coming out called walking dead destinies where it takes place from season 1 to season 4 and you get to make choices on what happens like you can have Shane kill Rick or t-dog gets left on the rooftop instead of merle
Little fun fact, apparently Morgan was supposed to appear in this episode. He would have been inside the train car along with everyone else, agreeing with Rick after he said "They're screwing with the wrong people". Not sure why they didn't go through with it.
Probably because of the changes they did to his character,it wouldnt have made sense for Morgan to be there and help them scape without killing anyone and thought it would be a cooler hook to tease his come back throughout season 5
This one and 5.1 are the episodes that previews pulled me to binge the show. I watch the first 3 or so episodes when it came out, but it didn't pull me in. I don't care about zombies, but I really love how an apocalypse brings out the best and worst in people.
Denise Crosby is Mary. Who was Tasha Yar from Star Trek: TNG. Joe and the Claimers where no match for Rick and group. “A” is good solid ending for season 4.
Guy on the right guesses too much right for him not too have watched... he doesn't even guess things wrong which is how it works when you guess thing lol...
Yeah everyone who is reacting to the series now has it good😂 imagine having to wait half a year for the next season. This was a great season. Added better pacing to the story and developing characters.
This episode to me is 100 percent the most brutal episode of the walking dead. It’s intense and a lot. But rick does what needs to be done. And man i was screaming when he ripped his throat out with his teeth. Bc what parent wouldn’t do that for their child!!!!n❤
Murder jacket Rick is not to be fucked with! Plus, that intro really is 🔥 I still do the same almost 14 years later 😂 I’m skipping it this episode… then the beat drops and I’m like, well damn.
22:34 Holy shiittt I forgot Rick gave those guys a watch!! I always assumed it was the watch that Herschel gave to Glenn and that they had it because Glenn was already in the train car at this point. But in all honesty it probably DID come from those people Rick and carol ran into… ESPECIALLY considering that guy actually appears in 5x01. Most people don’t even realize he’s there!
My favorite episode of the series, Rick really becomes everything that Shane was, only difference is Rick did it off of circumstance and Shane did it off of expectation. Season 5 is just PHENOMENAL
And it took Rick to have to deal with bad people and this world a lot longer than Shane
I'd say 5x15 was more Shane.
Stop saying this retarded sh*t. Shane was insane who would have thrown anyone and everyone who wasn't Carl or Lori into a horde of walkers to save himself. Rick is not like that, at any point.
Too bad they barely remember shit
Rick and Shane are nothing alike
Carl didn't have rage in his eyes. He was soaking in all the trauma, almost getting raped then seeing how brutal his dad got to save him.
Rick calling Daryl his brother still gives me goosebumps Daryl deserves a good brother.
Merle was a shitty person cos he was abused by his dad read between the lines..
Rick showing how far he'd go to save his son. Savage. Love it!
it's so sad seeing carl looking traumatized after what happened but it's also so sweet seeing how protective and comforting michonne is for him. he spent that entire night resting his head in her lap. 😢

I thought that was Maggie’s poncho wth Daryl was with our group
It was originally Daryl’s as he wore it in Season 3 but I’m guessing sometime during the 6 month time jump for Season 4 he gave it to Maggie.
Rick brought out his savage with that Claimer group when he bit Joe’s throat you don’t mess with his boy I love the scene where he and Daryl are talking about all that happened afterwards and Rick told him you’re my brother.

Rick slept with his shoes on cause he passed out and because he was always ready!
One of the best episodes of the series hands down.
