Bloody whoOARS....I'm gonna pretend this never happened. I always wondered what the TVL would look like with rosewood....granted I got it because it is maple
I just scored a Lefty version of this guitar... Apparently Thomman found one in the corner of the warehouse and posted it on the website. It's been sold out for months. I feel like I won something.😂
My son bought one, front pickup didn't work and really sharp fret ends. Customer service was terrible, they had to be continually badgered for a response, took nearly a calendar month for a replacement, which worked but also cut the inside of my son's ring finger because of sharp fret ends. Take note, if you don't buy through your Thomann account, you can't leave a review (very clever Thomann)
That is what the specs say, but he said basswood, so WTF....? Basswood is generally lighter weight, and used extensively on higher priced Japanese Jazzmasters, but alder is used by Fender's domestic USA/Mexico Jazzmasters. Which is better??
I’ve actually bought one and it’s definitely alder and decent quality. I always like to at least peek under the pickups 😃 Quite light too but that’s because of its size. It’s quite thin. I’ve always read that alder is the better quality wood than basswood. I’m very happy with it, just the usual setup that I do on all my guitars no matter the price, and for now I don’t need to change anything on it.
Been drooling over this thing since it first appeared, finally bought one just before xmas. Well, as you say, it looks and sounds fantastic!!! Downside - the frets (most, not just one or two) are poorly dressed to the point of drawing blood. Plus there is a grounding issue. Thomann offered me a measly $20 refund. I'd love to find a guitar guy who works that cheap! Then pressing them for a refund, they sent the most convoluted instructions for return (3 forms in triplicate! Contact your local customs office before mailing!) obviously to deter me from returning the thing. Maybe HB is worth a pop if you're in Europe, but for $90 shipping to the states, I expect a little more quality control. Very very disappointed in HB and/or Thomann. Again, a beautiful guitar, I could have been on cloud nine but for some shoddy (I mean really - I'm not being overly picky here) finishing. I can only imagine they actually send reviewers properly inspected instruments knowing they're going to be reviewed. Upping their game? Not on the one I'm looking at right now.
So is the body basswood (as said in the video) or American alder, as stated in the website? Not really that it matters but would be nice to know because my shoulder can't really take heavy lift :)
I’m not seeing why this costs almost double the base model. Slightly better tuners, paint and neck? Same pickups. Same electronics. Same bridge. I’m not saying it’s terrible value, but the markup from the base model is mystifying to me.
Mine is on the way😊I notice on the website that the neck profile is specified as "D" while JA-60 has a "C" profile. Is there really a difference in the neck carve or is this a typo? In Jonathan Koh's review of the JA-25th he mentioned that the neck felt more like a C than a D so that made me wonder about this.
I bought a JA60 recently and am really happy with it😊
Does it surf good?
I've heard the 25th Anniversary neck-plates sound much better than the standard ones.
That sounds likely - think are about 25 times as resonant.
Looks like the Troy van Leeuwen signature Jazzmaster.
But doesn`t sound like a Jazzmaster ... This guy should demo the guitars clean mode.
Wow didn’t know you were so old! Congrats
Thank you!
Oooh nice guitar! With a maple fingerboard and black block inlay it would be a cheap troy van leeuwen alternative!

The website states that it has an Alder body. Can you confirm if it is alder, or basswood like stated in the video?

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure that the body is Alder. Either way I want one 😍👍

21 steel frets, not 22 as described in the video. Anyway, looks great

So is the body American alder (as in the description) or basswood (as in the video)? And is the neck carve really different from the regular model?
Website says Alder body
Body is basswood? On the website it states American Alder? (Body: American alder)
It actually says American Alder at 1:12 aswell, mightve just been a slip of the tongue
@harleybenton Is it the body basswood or american alder?
Basswood or alder, both mentioned in the video? Ordered mine yesterday, my easter egg this year :D
I just ordered an example of this guitar...
Awesome! Let us know what you think!
does this have serious shielding grounding noise as other videos report?
I've had to rub my son's guitar over with a tumble dryer sheet, still have a bit of a crackle (especially when touching the tuners)
Those block inlays would look great against a dark ebony fretboard.
Except they are plastic (acrylic?), as is the binding, so you feel plastic instead of wood - not good imho.

Hey Ray, sorry for the confusion! It is indeed an Alder body!
Ich dachte der Body ist aus Alder? Schöne Gitarre, ich vermisse nur eine Version mit originalem Vibrato 🤔. 🎸🎼🎸🎼👏👍🙂
It doesn't mention that the neck is flamed on the website. Can I get clarification please Harley Benton
They are flamed :)
@@HarleyBentonOfficial thanks!

FYI this guitar is tuned EBEABE in the demo.

I have the st-25 and it feels a bit thiner than the modern c neck of my fusion II
why god why they are sold out!!!!!?????
body is not basswood)))) ITS ALDER ))))its so funny )it's their own commercial))))
What’s the point when u can’t buy one ! Always out of stock !!!!! 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤬
