Thank goodness for expert's like Jimmy solving problems, at least I've got the comfort to know he's not too far away from myself if things do go wrong with my diesel vehicles and he's available..🙏
Jimmy Daniel from Ashville is having issues with a VW crafter where vw can’t fix a dpf issue and are quoting £5k for further investigation. There’s a great opportunity for a collaboration between yous. 👍🏼 Two great channels ❤
Just had one replaced on my 2019 Civic. Not available from anyone but Honda, even though it is a Bosch. £1150 fitted inc diagnostics even though I told them the fault initially.
The Bosch ppm sensor is resistance based using the heater to clean the sensor , if it’s anything like the nox sensor they respond really well to ultrasonic cleaning to release all the trapped soot I’ve saved dozens of nox sensors by cleaning
Jimmy is that the Ancel v6 Pro diagnostic scanner is it any good good as the launch x431 pro 5 plus with smart link adapter good video by the way thanks for sharing that information very well explained 😊
I was wondering why the manufacturers dont use two half size DPFs in series , as the first one would wear out first so you could if you made identical ones replace the damaged one by moving the other one to be the first one and fitting the new one in the less stressed position ,
well 2 second dpf would be useless in this case. but the first dpf would be stressed way more in comparisson to a normal sizes dpf. More regens due to the smaller filter would be needed which is not good for the whole engine. the cost-benefit ratio of such a system would be pretty bad.
Hi Jimmy I have applied stream sensor of the turbo on a mercedes e220 and a gear box auto to be changed would you be interested in doing it for me Regards Joe
Dpfs are the biggest con going, help save the environment while selling add blue in plastic drums. The issues with these and cost of parts to be made and shipped far out way any emissions.
The elite want less diy owners, shorter vehicle life cycles, more failure points to generate repair costs.. All these points should benefit the manufacturers, dealers and tax man... Old cars, worked on cheap, generate no money.. imagine the meetings.. we need these older cars gone and bums on seats in newer more fragile cars tied to finance packages.. A friends misses works in a manufacturers and one of the ideas is, we will all rent the cars and when they're old, they'll recycle them into a new one.. we won't have the option to buy them, they won't be for sale, they will never pass 6 years old, they'll never be cheap..
@Mac_F87 you know, the people spraying chem trails, poisoning frogs, putting hormone suppressors in our water.. you need special sunglasses to see them
Indeed I know someone bought a SH one , she never actually drove it , it failed it's MOT on the "emissions" which the dealer couldn't fix in 12 weeks and she got her money back , must have cost the dealer a fortune
Due to it's operating mode surely a cap which was a tight fit over the sensor would suffice to "fix" a leaky DPF , ...., not that I'm suggesting anything obviously
The pm sensor will actually forgive a certain amount of particulate matter, the dpf won't catch all of it. PM sensor even does its own regeneration every 50 miles if I remember what I read on topix right. That's why I always cringe when you and Baz stick your finger in the tailpipe, find soot, and instantly condemn the dpf
@ORileysAutos You're never too experienced to learn something new Jimmy. Have a look on Topix yourself, (Topix is the official JLR technical information by the way). Not saying you're not correct in your diagnosis most of the time but I've never seen a video where you look inside the dpf to confirm your diagnosis or seen you replace one so how would I know if your diagnosis was correct?
@@GAH4444think he knows what Topix is. 😂 If what’s written on the database is so fantastic why do dealerships “technicians” struggle to even diagnose the majority of emissions related issues?
@Mac_F87 Probably because they don't have time to read it. Have you ever worked in a main dealer as a service technician? Its all about time saved and efficiencies, and they effectively reward incompetence because they're making more money the more jobs they do and parts they fit. Also how do you know that Jimmy knows what Topix is?
@ well he’s in the trade for a start. So what makes you think he’s doesn’t know about it? How do you know he’s not used the likes Topix or erWin to get information about vehicles? Or do you just like to be condescending at every opportunity? Seems like the latter at the minute anyway. Yeh nice one, technicians have all the documents at hand that would help but don’t have the time to read it. Don’t worry it’s not lost on me that dealerships are just fitters.

Good job, Jimmy! Seems you now have an extra pair of hands to help you, which is good.

Thanks for all this information, 👍
No problem 👍
Thanks Jimmy excellent video top man on the job 💪

Great job Jimmy ☘️☘️👏👏 remember it's getting very close to last shipping to Ireland 😂
Thanks Jimmy for another informative video. Good to learn how these Euro 6 sensors work.

There’s actually no connection between DPFs & ad blue. Euro5 vehicles have a DPF but no ad blue. The AD blue treatment actually happens after the DPF.

Would anyone know which sensor is sensor 4 bank 1, exhaust temperature sensor, getting a p2741 fault
What’s the car make, year and model?
👍
I miss the days of mechanical injection pumps and no bullshit DPF's
How much do you charge the customer for this kinda job? 😊
I would imagine a set figure for call out, then an hourly rate plus parts plus vat.
Almost 50k miles on the velar not too bad if you catch the drift😂😂

So its a burnt heating element on a NOx sensor that failed. Just that its a la d rover it has a fancier name😅
