Takahashi is very much old school with his JRPG stories. Big, grandiose, and ever escalating twists. X is probably the sole exception out of all his big projects. I mean come on, Xenosaga was going to be a SIX game epic.
I dont watch too many anime but I can vouch for Manga most of new manga nowadays are spamming lolis beast girl ecchi harem like hot popcorn. And most of them arent even self aware, they just put a those "weeb thingy" because apparently that is what it's like today. And I do believe that also happening in Anime Only a few that is not over selling ecchi, harem, loli and stuff. And I think Adam refers to that

Crit - C Idk his ebding comment pretty much cemented it for me, about it taking "more" talent to *wring* something good out of that kind of setting. I didn't get the impression that he would try or recommend the game to anyone, it seems like just because he personally isn't a fan of the setting its automatically a bad game or not worth it.
