I’m sure someone else will have mentioned, you don’t need to take the fast TGV. You can take the RER and it’s slower but much cheaper.

Just got back from a trip to Disneyland Paris. We took Uber which was about $60 USD per way and was about a 40-50 min drive each way. Also took us directly to our hotel (Newport Bay) as opposed to having to lug our stuff around. Overall Uber seems cheaper (if you have 2-4 passengers) and possibly faster (not having to wait around for the train especially if your flight is to one of the other terminals)

Just wanted to add that the train line from CDG to Marne-la-Vallée is part of a high speed line with fancy trains. So while you're only on there for ~10 minutes, buying tickets day-of will be very expensive as they charge additional surge pricing mainly for business travelers. Tourists can get significantly cheaper fares on the high speed rail line if you book in advance.
This is only applicable to this line in particular, most other transit lines you can just turn up and expect to pay 2-5 euros per ticket.

    • @ThemeParkExpress
      @ThemeParkExpress  2 месяца назад +3

That is some great information! We didn’t want to risk missing our train if for some reason our flight got delayed so that’s why we didn’t book in advance and we wanted to show the most direct and convenient way to get there. By no means is it the only option

The train that you took is a double-decker TGV high-speed train, and the journey was on the Paris high-speed bypass line that connects 3 of the 4 main radial high-speed lines from Paris to the North (and Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, or UK), the East (and Germany), the Southeast (and Switzerland, Italy or Spain) , but CDG to Disneyland Paris is too short to reach and maintain top speed.
Many people prefer the top level for views, but if you want to rest, the lower level is better as there's no through running foot traffic because the gangways between cars are exclusively on the top level.
All the lower level cabins are dead-ends.
This is only useful for real TGV journeys, this one from CDG to Disneyland Paris is like a high-speed commuter train.
So, if you only ride for 10 minutes, always sit on the lower deck whatever your preferences are.
The CDG station has different sides, one for the RER (the regional express heavy metro) and one for high-speed trains.
That's why you have different screens showing schedules, each side has its own sets of screens that are usually next to each other or nearby.
Though this might change a bit in the future as there will be the CDG Express train nonstop to one of Paris downtown mainline train stations opening in a couple years.
And later, also line 17 of the metro (and presumably also line 19 some years later)
So there will be 4 different types of trains at this multimodal station:
RER B, the B line of the regional express heavy metro to Paris core and suburbs, that crosses the entire core and ends in the Southern suburbs.
CDG Express, a direct nonstop train to Gare de l'Est station in Paris downtown (a rather premium service).
Metro 17 (then also 19), a fully automated metro line that also serves the Northern suburbs like RER B, but ends in a large transit hub just outside the core where you can change onto several other lines.
TGV high-speed trains, both regular and low-cost, to several cities in France but also international.
The TGV short hop between CDG and Disneyland Paris is rather expensive, but extremely fast.
It can get pretty busy at times...
