Systems like this use a lot of DSP manipulation to control the output level to avoid distortion, and to tailor the frequency response. I expect the the subwoofer channel has a high pass filter above your 40 Hz test tone, to prevent buzzing and rattling from the sub. Try again with a 80 or 100 Hz tone and I expect you’ll get more output, although you’ll probably still run into a volume limiter and bass compressor.
Yeah, it’s not bad. However, the amplifier could be a lot more powerful. The amplifier doesn’t output that much power, which is a little disappointing. 8 watts of power going to a 50-watt speaker is pretty disappointing. Most of the soundbar subwoofers just really need a powerful amp if you want to shake your house. The good thing is that cheap subwoofer sounds a lot better than the TV speakers. Even a dirt cheap soundbar sounds better than a modern TV with bad speakers.

It doesn't matter how much you pay for a tv, the built-in sound on all modern tv's is total garbage. Companies have this unhealthy fascination with making screens as thin as possible. They can only make them so thin until there's literally nothing to them. So it leaves nothing as far as sound goes and they have to resort to tricks to make the sound bounce off the wall.
Surprisingly many of the Samsung and others higher end models sound just as good as a cheap sound bar. They have subs in Samsung oleds!!!! I wouldn't believe it had I not heard it myself. And I dont think the bridging module is required for this gen, right? It does have the mono and eq switches. Any info or where a Digital Reference gen owners manual can be viewed would be awesome. Budget soundbars sound pretty bad but they work GREAT as an Amp with features for a better sub and set of bookshelf speakers you own. Just take it apart and run the positive and negative wires to a nice set of bookshelf speakers and maybe the sub if it's THAT bad but then you're in it for more money. Typically just making those crappy soundbar speakers sound good via powering bookshelves with them is the most effective mod for them unless you just have everything lying around. I have a Philips Fidelio soundbar and dual sub setup that I LOVE and it actually sounds great. Otherwise on a budget you're gonna get a better more natural sound from a powered set of edifier or something. Soundbar are way overpriced nowadays for what you actually get. There's not much budget room on them for quality I've only ever seen a handful I liked and they're $600-1000+ and far and few inbetween.

Not quite a Super Saiyin, better keep looking for those Dragon Balls, lol. When you don't have decent sound though, just a little cheap boost goes a LONG way.
My guess the sub channel is likely crossed over at above 40hz so it wasn't putting out any power at 40hz as it was a filtered frequency if there is a way to test it at like 50hz or so then i bet youd see a lot more than the power it showed us... Just a theory based on the hollow higher freq bass tone it gave and dyno results compared to rated 🤷♂️
that's an excellent setup I'm sure. I have an old set of bookshelves and a small amp used for our bedroom TV and it works ok as well. I was looking for something simple for people who recently bought a big screen TV and don't want to fiddle around with a lot of wires and such
I didn't mention in the video but my main reason for picking this setup up was to have a small system for use when we go on vacation. I hate using TV's built-in speakers and this setup packs up into a very small box and provides the decently upgraded sound for those TV's in the VRBO's and such
Next time just use a multimeter on the speakers And see what ohm those are . Than you know how to setup your tester . Speakers in rest are the ohm it is

Nice review
My sound bar sucks however my tv speakers are adequate and yes,I like a audiophile quality sound system
Merry Christmas! SALE! For fans of Big D, AUDIO INTENSITY has a SALE for the Holidays 50% - 60% off RAINBOW AUDIO all gear. Yeah, that good brand from Germany. Speakers and amps are the best deals. Get a little something nice for yourself this Christmas. I've never seen prices this low for Rainbow Audio. Great pair component speakers under $100. That's crazy!
How do the sound ways go?
You know 😝
Not quite a Super Saiyin, better keep looking for those Dragon Balls, lol.
I thought that may be the case so I tried at 100Hz as well and got the same output
I use Presonus 3.5 monitor speakers. Sounds excellent for about hundred bucks. Totally fills the room.
that's an excellent setup I'm sure. I have an old set of bookshelves and a small amp used for our bedroom TV and it works ok as well. I was looking for something simple for people who recently bought a big screen TV and don't want to fiddle around with a lot of wires and such
@ yep they are powered. Or go with the 5 inchers . Excellent sound as these normally are studio monitors
Please hook the subchannel up to the quad box, for science.
🤣👍
Some foam would help those cabinets.
I wish Allen would have included one of his keys.
I don't think they could afford Allen at this price, I'm just Saiyin
Pump some DJ Magic Mike through that thing!
Their definition of handmade subwoofer is very different than my definition
could it have been a 1ohm sub?
it's 4 ohm sub, see the stamp on the magnet when I take it out of the enclosure
You can keep em separated.
Hey HEY yeah!
2:07 a 12 inch subwoofer!! awesome!
price probably went up after your review 😅
5.25" subwoofer !??!
Is it really a subwoofer driver or just a repackaging from other speaker ???
Please test more ´Hifi` parts. But the thing with things like that is why not get a used Amp and Speaker, and get much better audio for your money.
I didn't mention in the video but my main reason for picking this setup up was to have a small system for use when we go on vacation. I hate using TV's built-in speakers and this setup packs up into a very small box and provides the decently upgraded sound for those TV's in the VRBO's and such
I guess it doesn't bump doe.
Next time just use a multimeter on the speakers
And see what ohm those are .
Than you know how to setup your tester .
Speakers in rest are the ohm it is
The mids were 6 ohm and the sub was 4 ohms
Hard to beat Bose, Costco run sales every now and then. I’d rather have a used Bose soundbar than this.
when connected together .. " 600.10' ?? mm SPEAKING NUMBERS .. INtO FRACtIONS... tAKES LOtS OF FAItH ..
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
boomp boomp boomp boomp
Definitely has to be an affiliate link. Theres no way ANY audio guy could recommend one of these with a straight face. I could think of 50 soundbars that I would rather have. Might as well be pushing a Colby soundbar. Come on man, we expect better of you than this. For an extra 25 bucks you can get a Samsung with a powered wireless sub, that doesn’t look like cheap Chinese garbage. Please, please, please nobody buy this garbage.
It doesn't matter what I say or do I'll get an occasional comment like this. Someone who has never tried the product as I have and immediately makes an assumption. C'mon man, you can do better...
So basically these are computer speakers
