My word is Joy. Last year was a stressful year. I spent too time worrying about the “what ifs” of life and the worrying killed my joy for most of the year. I owe it to my village and myself to do better💕

I’ve used a planner for many years and can’t imagine not using one. I use a Happy Planner dashboard style and decorate it lightly. I also use a Bible study journal with verse mapping. My word for the year, which is written in the front of my planner, is Trust and my verse is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all you ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
My word for the year is Charity. Charity towards myself, my family, my friends and the strangers I meet everyday. I feel like it’s something that is in short supply in the world right now and the only way I can change that is with myself. ❤ Great video Jennifer!!
My word for the year is "stretch", and I want to use this in many areas of my life, from stretching my mind to stretching my muscles to stretching my horizons. I started journaling in school and have kept it up (I am in my 70's now). Love your channel! 😊👍🐾
I am going to order a planner this afternoon! I'm so glad you had this video. I think my word for the year is going to be "blessing." Either to be one or to enjoy the blessings that our good Lord has given us. Happy New Year to all!!!!!
I just have to thank you for your video about Winter Solstice. It gave me such a longing for a little winter break or even just a whole day off, so I prayed for it and God gave me several days off and some wonderful rejuvenating days to restart and prepare for the new year. I haven’t had anything like this for 11 years and it was amazing. 💛
Jennifer, my word for the year is, "Prepare." Somewhere, on a RUclips video I heard the advice to choose a difficult goal for 15 years from now. I'll be SO old! Making that goal gave me something to work toward. That big goal has given me purpose to *really* eat right and exercise (I'll need to be in good health and strong). That goal keeps me from doubting myself in all areas. I need to grow in knowledge of how to go about my big goal. I need to get closer to God and His word for this goal. I need a change a lot of things -- but for the good of my life, others' lives and to attain this goal. So, "PREPARE" is my word. I'm into this goal prep about two months now, so just starting. I love this video of yours. Your words are always so helpful. Have a wonderful 2023!
I do a completely blank journal (no lines) and customize it bullet journal style week to week. I get bored easily, so a blank journal lets me change my formatting and experiment as much as I like✨
I'm using a weekly classic sized Franklin Covey this year and have put all my lists and sticky notes (that I was using last year). I figured out the 'Roles' I want to work on this year and developed my goals for the year. Brain Dumped all the stuff I want to do this year onto a master task list and am reviewed all of these at the beginning of the month to decide what to do in January. For the first time ever, I'm decorating my planner and find that I LOVE being in my planner. My word for this year would be Family.
My word for the year is New Beginning. After my husband passing away early last year and his family taking my house, I have moved 3 provinces away and started over.
My word for the year in my planner is "Peace." I was inspired by the true meaning of the word translated "peace" in the Christmas story when the angels came to the shepherds and announced "Peace on Earth." Shalom (Hebrew) or Eirene (Greek), translated as "peace" in English, means wholeness or completeness. That is what I want my focus to be this year.
Happy New Year! I was the care giver for both my parents. My father passed away in January 2016 then my mother passed away in April 2019. Since their passing I've been lost without them. They were my Best Friends! Last year my word was Inner Peace, I have calmed my inner self some so this year my word is Joy. I would like to find something that brings joy back into my life. Prayers to you and your family XOXO
My word for the year is Authenticity. Yes, I like most people have a resolution for the new year. But this year is different. I want to focus more on being myself. My authentic self. 🥰 Happy New Year Jennifer! I love your channel, and find such joy in making it a part of my week. ❤
My word for the year is CHANGE. There are many things I would like to change in my life right now. I'm 63 years old, and I don't believe it's too late to change things in your life.
Every woman needs a planner...or several.🤣🥰 I have a home based planner, daily scheduling planner and memory keeping planner/ journal. Also an art journal I pain or draw in daily. It sounds like a lot, but I write down, just enough to trigger a memory, plan out my week once and mostly work from lists daily. My home control page is more for referencing, meal planning and budgeting. I enjoy them all so much! Love these videos, Jennifer. Happy New Year💞
I am a Virgo and I have a paper problem. There. I said it. I take notes on everything. I'm definitely interested in a daily journal and love the idea of keeping my journals with me at all times. I've been thinking about filling a small tote with my calendar, journals, planner, a couple of books and note cards filled with helpful quotes and bible verses. It would be transportable, easy to take to appointments, move in and out of the car, sit near the computer and place beside my bed. Instead of looking at my phone, I can simply pull an item from my tote to be a little more engaged and more productive. My word for this year might be SIMPLICITY. I need to simplify my meals, streamline my wardrobe, perhaps own less, say "No" more often, and be a less busy. ❤
I've never had success using a planner that just has dates, days and weeks... somehow my life just doesn't work like that and I dont know where to write what's important to me! This year I'm trying a custom planner, I bought a 6 ring binder and dividers and created sections. Each subject now really relates to what I need! Housekeeping lists, kids activity ideas, meal ideas, funny things I heard my kids say, projects I'm working on etc. So far I'm enjoying it much better this way!
My word's this year are: faith, trust, bravery, strength, and patience. I'm having our first baby in March. I pray I am not too hard on myself and can enjoy all aspects of motherhood! To God be the glory! Happy new year everyone!
I think you’re already being too hard on yourself by choosing so many words. I found it overwhelming just reading that list. Just stick to one. You already have an overwhelming change coming into your life. Small changes = big results. Just narrow your focus to avoid overwhelm.
I was able to keep weight off my skipping one meal a day or replacing it with a premade salad from the grocery store. I did have to supplement with a multivitamin. Jennifer shows great intermittent fasting meal ideas I have yet to try. Hoping to increase salad and fruit intake and movement in 2023 to keep the weight off and become toned
Over the past few years I have been Bullet journaling, which has given me an outlet for creativity that I have not had due to busy work/Mom life. This year I gifted myself an 'agenda 52" planner which is beautifully decorated and includes month at a glance pages and vertical days of the week. Then I added bullet pages throughout to continue my doodling and creative spaces. It's fun to plan pages for places I'd like to travel to, pages for 'brain dump', garden planning and more. I think, instead of a word for the year, I want to memorize Philippians 4:8, and break it down into phrases and memorize a phrase per month. I want to focus on 'things that are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things that are pure ...." As a busy ER nurse, I will remember to "keep calm and remain classy" :) Thank you for your video's and books, I have enjoyed them.
Great encouragement! My word: Dedication! Dedication to God, dedication to my husband, dedication to my family, dedication to my goals! Thank you, Jennifer! Happy New Year!
"Fearless" is my word for 2023 I have been a widow for just one year now, I know the coming year will have new challenges for me. I will keep this thought, in my mind, as I face them.
My word for 2023 is Grow. I have used a planner since the 80's and can't function without one and don't ever want to!! I remember all things better when I write it down.
My word of the year is a tossup between hope and rebuild. My church emphasized hope, peace, joy, and love during the Advent season, and hope is first. My daughter will graduate from college this year, so my hope is for her to start working or attend graduate school. I also hope to take my first trip since the pandemic after putting travel on pause for obvious reasons. Another hope is to advance in my proofreading/editing career. This year’s word can be rebuild because I recently moved to a new house and am thus rebuilding my home life. I am rebuilding in my career and my wardrobe. Happy New Year to all! 🎉🥂😘❤️
I picked a phrase for this year...strength in the journey. Sometimes the journey is difficult...this year looks like there are going to be some difficult times coming. Strength in the journey just felt appropriate.
My word for the year is Value. There are so many things that I value and cherish, that I’ve been talking for granted. My health, my home, God, my relationships. I want to focus on making them better, and valuing them as I should.
My word for the year is Restoration, the Biblical definition. Thank for encouraging women to get organized and set goals. With how crazy the last 3 years have been we need to make each day count! As far as Journaling I have bought so many different journals but what works the best for me is a spiral bound notebook/journal/sketch book. To fancy it up I use glitter gel pens to make it fun! I like to write a scripture or quote for each day. I loosely use the FlyLady method and I write the zone and my daily chores. I color code for appts or must do. On the following page I jot notes, ideas, etc... Remember ladies, even on a tight budget we can still do these things, there is no right or wrong. So even if you are upcycling an old notebook you can decorate the cover by gluing a scrap of paper you decorated, some pretty wrapping paper, etc... You are only limited by your creativity! We don't need fancy planners to write out our to do lists, menu planning and goal setting. Any piece of paper will work so please don't feel limited or less than if you can't afford an expensive planner. It's more important to stay within your means and smash those goals! ❤🏆✅
My word for this year is peace. We’ve been through a lot the last few years as a family, and my word for those years would have been “fight” (for my family and their needs). But now that many of those battles have been fought and won, I want to focus on bringing peace into my home for my husband and daughters. ❤ I love my planner by the way! It’s my lifeline and keeps the stress down. I’ve had a planner since middle school, lol!
My word is “Enough”. I have enough, I am enough, I do enough. Enough of not listening to my own instincts. Enough of not taking time for my self. Happy New Year, and thank you for your content.
My word for 2023, SLOW! I want to think, move, act more slowly throughout my day. I think that slowing down will help me notice, appreciate and reflect on more of the wonderful things in my life.
Jennifer, I'm so grateful for this video. My word for 2023 is organization. I used be good at organization and time management. Now I don't even recognize myself. So this will be the year of improving myself.
I bought my planner about two weeks ago and was so happy to use it for the first time yesterday. My heart is so full. My husband surprised me with a trip to Paris for the Christmas break. It brought back memories of some of the things in your book I have listened to twice. Paris was everything I heard it to be and some more.
@@djlivvy46 Thank you! My recommendation is to make sure to take some Euros when you do and have a credit card with no foreign transaction fees. That was a bummer for us, since he did not think of that when planning. Not a big deal, but could have saved us a couple of dollars.
I love your videos, you always provide such a calm and comforting sense to my days. I’m recently retired and have found myself missing a routine to my days. I’m content but have been feeling that I should be at least a little more productive than I have been. Your word advice has inspired me to have my daily mantra this year be “do something”. Call a friend, mop the floor, schedule a get together with a family member, organize or declutter something. Can be a chore or fun, but each day needs to include something specific. 😊💕
I've always known that I was a person who needed structure to be productive, and I definitely learned that the hard way when I was furloughed due to the pandemic a couple of years ago. So I truly sympathise with you!
My word is Lists. I need to make a list each day and get the top 3 things done. Sometimes I let the small things slide and the next thing I know is I have 300 small tasks to accomplish and then it takes forever and is overwhelming. I am using cute old school notebooks my daughter never used. Another word is resourceful. Going to use up what I have before buying or desiring for more.
Hi Jennifer. I'm going to really try to use my planner this year. Typically I start out pretty good and then by the end of the year I've quit using it. I'm retired so somedays I just "fly by the seat of my pants" so to speak. However, I am a volunteer coordinator for a program at our church and have a "very small" business. I do use my phone for appointment reminders. At first I was going to use the word simplicity, but I changed it to Streamline. When I googled it, this is what Streamline says-(when used as an adjective) "of fluid flow, free from turbulence". When you are a creative person (like art or crafting, etc. ) you need stuff, but too much creates turbulence. Same with a closet full of clothes that don't fit, or collection of things from childhood. At least for me. Thank you for the inspiration.
I enjoy using a planner but I don't have a good place to keep it where I can refer to it regularly throughout the day so I use a separate to-do list with my planner. This works better for me than having everything in my planner. My word of the year is Courage. It's going to be a difficult one and I am going to need courage to get through it.
My word for the year is Encouragement. I want to encourage others in their own journeys. I also want to encourage myself in certain areas where I feel I have been undermining myself lately. Ironically, I took a spiritual strengths test through my church years ago that showed my greatest spiritual strength is Encouragement. Seems like I lost some of my encouragement mojo over these last two pandemic years. 🙄
I have used planners for many years. I like to use multicolored archival pens 🖊️. The finer tips work the best. I use highlighters and stickers, too. I love ❤️ checking off accomplishments each day. My planner functions as a journal and meal planner.
Looking forward to leaving my future self little notes and surprises as I go through my planner this evening, adding in important dates. My word for this year is Endurance.
My word for the year is Get-Up! My planer is a ring binder (like a happy planner.) I took the parts I like from the passion planner and dot grid for bullet style daily pages.
I am loving your videos. Just recently found you. I am 47 and have used a paper planner since my teen years. I might be the only person in this world who writes the appointments on the paper planner, and only there. I do not like digital calendar, and I have tried multiple times to convert to one. I have two sons (11 and 13) and a husband who travels half of the time. I write my timely appointments on my weekly planner. I color code for my family, chores, payments, work, etc. I write soccer games, doctor’s appointments, events, some chores, private students cancelations, etc. Other things I keep digital, grocery, and my Apple Notes and Apple reminders is very populated and organized with recurring routines, and personal notes of all sorts. It’s the appointments that I don’t like on digital format. I just rescued a journal and I am writing on it right now while drinking warm golden milk in a pretty cup. Thank you for the idea. It’s indeed very calming. Let’s embrace the “slower”. I desperately needed that.
My word of the year is Joy. Even though I did not choose it for myself (I used the Word of The Year Generator), I am embracing it! Jennifer, I rarely comment because I usually view RUclips on the Apple TV app, Your channel is just delightful!
I have a few words this year: Elegance, Sparkling, Cherished and Lucid. I also pick a flower of the year and this year is white Magnolia :). I use the Hobonichi Cousin planners but my first planner was a Day Designer!
Hi Jennifer and all of you lovely Dailey Connoisseurs. I’ve always used what I’ve called a datebook or agenda that is smallish and pretty and fits nicely in my purse, but this year I’ve chosen a slightly larger one as a signal to invite more good things into my life. I’ve always used it primarily to schedule appointments ad students and haven’t thought of it as a planning tool. Watching your video I suddenly realized that I don’t plan!!! I do schedule, but that isn’t the same thing. Scheduling is for obligations or set appointments. Planning is for making dreams into reality. I’m really grateful for this video and for the wonderful comments of your followers. I have a feeling this shift is going to be important for me!
I started “Dot Journaling” last year… I’ve been writing in journals for as long as I can remember and I’m really loving this method. I also LOVE the Staples ARC or Martha Stewart DISC journal formats as you can easily move pages which I LOVE!! So I’ve incorporated the two methods together!! So I have yearly, monthly and daily calendars, places for BRAINSTORMING, book notes and on and on. It doesn’t take up much space as I use a 5”x8” version and the variety of Journal covers are very good quality. This type of journaling leaves a lot of room for being efficient and creative in a compact place. It’s a 💯 🎉‼️
I have never been someone to use a planner, but I received one as a gift and I have begun to use it to record my daily Bible reading. I will not be putting appointments in it, I have a small calendar on my refrigerator for them. My word for this year is "PRAY". I have set up a prayer journal (something new for me this year), so I will be evaluating both throughout the year. Thank you for the timely vlog!
I’m a “planner person” and I love your segments about planners! My word for the year is “intentional” - I need to be more intentional in every aspect of my life!
My words of the year are Strong and Elegant. Think like a ballerina. I danced when I was young and this helped me reflect on what I wanted to feel again, physically, emotionally, mentally.
My word is LESS; less mess, less stress, less consumption, less distraction. I’m a work in progress but I’ve found it to be a motivating word! Thank you for your lovely channel. I’ve read your first book but just found the channel. It’s very inspiring and soothing.
I LOVE my planner. It is a 67 cent squared composition book from the local supermarket. I am on my 10th year of this system of bullet journaling. I like to decorate it, but I don't always have time - the main thing I tell myself is that it has to work for me - and obviously it has since I am in my 10th year. It's amazing how helpful it has been for tracking when certain things happened - it has saved me a ton of money!
My word is going to be “Thrive”. I want for our family and myself to thrive. I feel like we have been in survival mode for about 10 years and enough is enough.
‘Light’ it has so many possibilities. I also bought a daily planner insert this year and have just started using different coloured markers to introduce interest and fun.
My word for the year is "transformation". I hope to make a major move to be closer to family. My planner will be key in keeping me on track to make this big change in my life.
My word is suevnock (suaimhneach in Irish). It means a deep soul filled peace that is found in special ritual moments when among family, friends, and familiar places, like seeing your old friends in your local pub at Christmas, or having tea after dinner in front of the fire every evening with your husband and children. I use a planning system I call the Irish mothers way. I absolutely love it.
Jennifer, it's not bad to write down things in the middle of the night, it's actually the best thing to do in order to go back to sleep! It's called 'brain dumping'...gotta write that stuff down so that your brain can rest and focus on sleep instead of dwell on the many tasks of the day. Happy planning 2023! Hubby gifted me a beautiful planner for Christmas and I intend to make great use of it this year! God bless you!
Freedom. After an abusive marriage I notice myself still scared or anxious sometimes. I want to remember I am FREE and everything is going to be ok. (The challenge is remembering this throughout having to share children. But that is why it's so important.)
I have a “Regency Life Pocket Weekly Diary” which is simple & small enough to keep in my little handbag so that I remember when I have work or appointments scheduled, & a “Jane Austen Engagement Calendar “ (full of her quotes) to write out all the details in.
My word is “Renewal” I had a year full of changes, some bad, some good, but that left me wondering what was next for me? What direction was I taking? I realized I need to start from scratch, anew ❤
Hello Jennifer, I also choose a word for each year. This year, my word is JOY. After a very difficult, stressful 2022, I need more joy in 2023. I choose a colour for the year also, this year my colour is white. A new clean fresh start.
The word that came to me as I watched this was peace/peaceful. My life has been quite stressful this past year (more like the past 3 years!) and I find myself craving peace. I want peace in my life and in my home! I had not thought of a word for the year; thank you so much! ♥️
I love using a planner and have used one for many years. I like looking back at the important-and simple tasks that made my day in years past. My word for this year is health, a priority based on issues from last year. I love your channel!

My word for the year is simple :)
Happy New Year. Thank you for your consistently beautiful content. My word for the year is ABIDE.

Sending love and healing to your friend. Sending strength to you to be there for her ❤️

My word for the year is curate. I am curating my life in every way - home decor, closet, time, activities. Adding only the things that enhance the whole! Happy New Year! 🎉
I love that!!
Such a beautiful concept! 💖
I’ve been a pen paller for 50 years and it is always a joy to receive a letter. My word for this year is ‘Health’.

After very difficult 2022 my word for 2023 is restorative
Happy new year Jennifer! Xx
I love your user name! ❤️
Word for the year: Breakthrough!
Check out Organize 365, the programs changed my life, so much paper, so much anxiety….I’ve struggled for years and this was life changing ❤
My word of the year is Progress. Better done then perfect.🙏
I’m retired and have not had a word for the year, this year my word will be intentional. Thank you for your lovely videos🎉
@@missmayflower not at all. 😊I don't find it overwhelming at all personally.
Health. Medical tests have me headed for diabetes. I intend to reverse this. Happy New Year Jennifer. All the best in 2023 for you & your family.
I want to focus on 'things that are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things that are pure ...."
As a busy ER nurse, I will remember to "keep calm and remain classy" :) Thank you for your video's and books, I have enjoyed them.
Being a mother and a nurse are two of life's highest callings. I salute you! 👑
Phil 4:8 is one of my favorite verses! I even apply it to what books to read, movies to watch, and discerning what friendships to cultivate.
I love the idea of using a planner... I just haven't figured out how to do it consistently 😖. My word for the year is NURTURE. 😊
Great encouragement! My word: Dedication! Dedication to God, dedication to my husband, dedication to my family, dedication to my goals! Thank you, Jennifer! Happy New Year!
"Fearless" is my word for 2023
I have been a widow for just one year now, I know the coming year will have new challenges for me. I will keep this thought, in my mind, as I face them.
My word for 2023 is Grow. I have used a planner since the 80's and can't function without one and don't ever want to!! I remember all things better when I write it down.
I did the same thing with my planner stickers this year and it worked so well...like surprises from me to me.
My word for the year is LOVE.
I've been creating my own planners for years. Part bullet journal, part pretty planner, I make it work for me. This year my word is purpose.
I love my planner by the way!
My word for 2023 is peace physically and spiritually.
Jennifer, I'm so grateful for this video. My word for 2023 is organization. I used be good at organization and time management. Now I don't even recognize myself. So this will be the year of improving myself.
I cannot recommend Organize 365 enough, it’s been life changing ❤
My word for the year is Selfcare. For past 25 years always put everyone else. This year going take time everyday for myself, focusing on myself first.
My word for 2023 is FOCUS. I love the tip to write to my future self, I’m going to do that this evening Jennifer❣️
Yes! Perfect!
I loved that tip, too!
I bought my planner about two weeks ago and was so happy to use it for the first time yesterday. My heart is so full. My husband surprised me with a trip to Paris for the Christmas break. It brought back memories of some of the things in your book I have listened to twice. Paris was everything I heard it to be and some more.
I was watching Emily In Paris last night! I've not been there yet, but I hope to soon.
I'm so glad it fulfilled your dreams. 💖
@@djlivvy46 Thank you! My recommendation is to make sure to take some Euros when you do and have a credit card with no foreign transaction fees. That was a bummer for us, since he did not think of that when planning. Not a big deal, but could have saved us a couple of dollars.
I love my planner and decorate with stickers and washi tape. I call it my sidekick lol
Love my weekly planner! My word is GRACE.
I could’ve written this comment. I feel like I’m drowning and in survival mode most of not all of the time. It’s tiring
My word for the year is CONSISTENCY. This year I’m trying to use a paper planner, so this video was perfect.
Happy New Year!
Yes! As a SAHM of two elementary age kids, I use a daily planner every single day - even in the summer.
😂
Happy 2023! My word for the year is Rebuild.
My word for 2023 is Freedom: Freedom in Christ, freedom from clutter, stress, debt, and anything else that holds me back.
Nourish is my word for 2023. Thanks for all of your good content.
I enjoy using a planner but I don't have a good place to keep it where I can refer to it regularly throughout the day so I use a separate to-do list with my planner. This works better for me than having everything in my planner. My word of the year is Courage. It's going to be a difficult one and I am going to need courage to get through it.
My word for the year is “thankfulness.”
My word for the year is nature. I want to be mindful to get out and enjoy nature daily. Also, bring nature into my home😊
My word is delight- I want to delight in all things and the people I love this year
I have a few words this year: Elegance, Sparkling, Cherished and Lucid.
“By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.” ❤
I’m a “planner person” and I love your segments about planners! My word for the year is “intentional” - I need to be more intentional in every aspect of my life!
That's my word for the year, too! Intentional (and consistent) with my Bible study, health, time, studying, etc. 😉
Me too, I’m kind of a planner-aholic 💕
As always my word for the past several years has been perseverance this year I'm adding on tempered w grace and intention.
My word for 2023 is discipline. I really need to get my life on track.
My word for 2023 is MAGIC! I hope to see the Magic, synchronicity, and awe at all times this year. xx
My word for 2023 is peaceful! I have a lot of stress at work and home. I need to remain calm, classy, and peaceful in the mix of the chaos.
My word for 2023 is Sublime. I am searching for the sublime in nature , books, and thought.
My word for the year is "transformation". I hope to make a major move to be closer to family. My planner will be key in keeping me on track to make this big change in my life.
My word for 2023 is Trust!
Great word!
I love that
Jennifer, it's not bad to write down things in the middle of the night, it's actually the best thing to do in order to go back to sleep! It's called 'brain dumping'...gotta write that stuff down so that your brain can rest and focus on sleep instead of dwell on the many tasks of the day. Happy planning 2023! Hubby gifted me a beautiful planner for Christmas and I intend to make great use of it this year! God bless you!
Happy New Year!! My one word for the year is"ME" becasue I have learned that you cannot pour from an empty vessel. I need to make "ME" a priority.
Freedom. After an abusive marriage I notice myself still scared or anxious sometimes. I want to remember I am FREE and everything is going to be ok. (The challenge is remembering this throughout having to share children. But that is why it's so important.)
I’m sorry you went through that. I’m glad your word is free ♥️
Hi Jennifer - My 2023 Word ~ Prolific - Highly productive, taking massive action to produce awesome abundance! Creative, Fruitful & Rich!
My word for the year is Essentialism, I would like to focus on what matters more, and try to focus my energy ^^
