I agree! He did that since his moments album. Some of the songs on that album and his ep after that, are what made me a fan of him, even before his first album, and before all the crazy beats he has. His message did enough for me. He has a way of expressing things we think about or things we know is there with us but don't know if it's worth paying attention to. Or we don't know how to express it even to ourselves. The song "paralysed" is the 1st song that did that for me, i didn't know i would relate to something like this.

This song always hits different. I’ve listened to it no less than 100 times since its release and it always gets to me. NF is my favourite artist. Always will be. This is the kind of song that you close your eyes and truly listen to. It’s beautiful.

with the titling of the songs, “that’s a joke”…. “just like you,” i thought it would come off of that’s a joke and he’d be going after someone specific. but it subverted those expectations and was very wholesome, different from that, and is genuinely my favorite piece of the mixtape. i also see it as a “sequel” of sorts to “only” where nate is wondering if he’s the only one that feels that way. he’s now discovered he isn’t, and he not only wants to share that with others, but it’s so important to him, that it possibly would be the very last thing he wants to tell his fans. it’s very powerful and is something i love a lot.
