Wir haben das Arrangement letztens auch gespielt. Mit dem Euphonium saß ich genau neben drei echt genialen Tubisten und habe den fetten Sound einfach nur genossen. Also ich deine Version hier gerade gehört habe muss ich sagen hatte ich ziemlich viel Pipi in den Augen stehen... Musik ist wunderbar
Nochmal eine tolle Inspiration, Daniel! Dein Pedalregister ist ja nach wie vor eine Geschichte für sich, aber auch sonst ist alles sehr sonor und sauber artikuliert. Ich liebe, deine Eastman CC und deine Miraphone Hagen BB zu hören - auf die Weise, die nur einer der Besten meistern kann. Respekt!!
Great video Daniel, love this piece and some tuba powerplay. The tuba perspective is sometimes so much different from what the audience hears and as a tuba player for me a close up tuba sound never gets boring. Great idea, hope to see more. Thank you.
Awesome sound and control on that pedal C throughout the piece. I only have a 4/4 BBb tuba (4 valves) and the pedal C is an absolute nightmare on that instrument. Having to use all 4 valves in order to not be overly sharp seriously hurts the sound. Feels like playing with a towel stuck inside the bell. Any tips for making it sound as good as the rest of the pedal range? F, E, Eb, D, Db and pedal Bb all sound OK but that C... It's just too stubborn for me to be able to do anything useful with it. Using a C tuba isn't an option just to be clear
On my euphonium, C above pedal Bb is much better with both 3 and 1 pulled instead of just 1. Once you get enough pipe, it starts to be easier because you're not trying to lip it down subconsciously. It's still the stuffiest note on the horn, but once I made that change I found I could even get a solid C way below pedal Bb! It's also worth practicing plain old low C with 1-2-3-4, and getting a feel for how it's different than playing it on the 4th valve alone (or 1-3). Learning to maintain my tone and volume as much as possible while switching between 1-2-3-4 and 4 on that note really helped me.
I use normal embouchure for F E and Eb and i do top lip shift for anything lower than D to crank those notes out also C i normally pull 4th and 1st all the way out and its intune using 1234
