May Day is Lei Day in Hawai‘i. Every May 1st, the City & County of Honolulu presents the Annual Lei Day Celebration at Kapi‘olani Park in Waikīkī. The annual Lei Day Celebration provides a venue, where one day of the year is set aside to celebrate the lei, and the skill and artistry of Hawai‘i’s lei makers. The event features the annual Lei Contest, Lei Court, and artisans sharing their skills through exhibits and demonstrations. Also throughout the day there is entertainment, hula hālau, and craft and food vendors.
