Although the other shop was interesting, I like the more elegant and clean look of your shop. She had those shaded lamps that were nice, but it lacked color in the almost everything except for the sprouting bulbs. Thanks for taking us along, really enjoyable!😊
Fun , Creative fun ,
So funny that demijohns are free on the side of the road in Italy or in Someone’s basement.
I have 2 of those copper kettles under my back deck. One has a lot. Guess I better take off a skirting side and dig them out.
Sue Smith go get those copper treasures now! ☺️👏👏👏
Ohhh! That shop reminds me SO much of a shop we had here that shut down a little over a year ago. I cried!!
No cooking. Heating water. I have my grandmother's. I always thought it would make a great water flower garden. I remember it sitting on the wood cook stove when I was young. At bath time she would get water out of it to put in wash tub for bath. We lived old fashion and it was fun. I'm 68 but I do like my modern amenities.
This is a great video. It was fun to see what inspires Jami and then to go shopping at the thrift store then to see how Jami culminates her vision in the shop.
I love everything about this video. It was so relaxing looking around with you guys. That shop is awesome and so is yours. ❤️😊
Thanks for sharing Brambles and Blossoms with us! So beautiful! And, your shop is looking amazing, too!
🤘 😁
I am barely into the video and I love, love, love it already. I have a shop and I get lots of compliments, but seeing someone else's creativity and vision is so amazing and inspiring. There are a lot of really beautiful shops in Richmond VA, like this shop you're in. It just takes my breath away.
However I love your shop too Jami and Zeb!........Oh My Heart, This right out of my French dreams. I've always wanted to go to France and my daughter and I intend to do so. I didn't go when we lived in Europe in the military with my husband and I regret it.
I have ladder back raffia chairs my best friend gave me and I hang one on the wall for displays and the other sits on the floor next to it. You many have seen in a shop tour. I also just found an awesome huge jar similar to the big wine jugs at Goodwill for like $6. I'm gonna clean it with salt and vinegar and put it out for Spring.
I'm so excited, I have one of those large copper pot like you purchased and I saw a tobacco stick fence like I use for display. I can't tell how much of the same stuff I have that is in your shop as well. Thank God for the mass produced fair out there!
Love what I’ve seen of your shop. Fun! I can’t wait for spring decor to really hit. I’m over winter already!
Beautifully done store. What a treat to see it. Thanks so much for the inspirational video.
I can't wait to see a tour of your shop again post this inspirational tour
Love the copper boiler! I have 2 but mine are galvanized tin. I store gift bags and tissue paper in mine.
Such a fun shopping trip, great finds
I think your shop looks good. The only thing I noticed is not too many soft edges. By that I mean if you had pillows, linens, etc. placed in baskets, or on that small ladder or hang out of some cubby shelves or draped under some candle holders and hanging off the edge It might add some of what you are looking for. Good luck.
❤️❤️
Great job! Saw some things I really like and a couple I'd like to have here!
I hunk they are called boilers an some were even used to boil laundry an some other things .
Yes wow. Her display esthetic is great! I wouldn’t feel uncomfortable if that was a home and I’m anti clutter. I wont find what I need here. My retirement town too small. And the two next larger cities north and south mainly have a Walmart and Kmart, which the latter went out of business so things sold are plastic or not good enough to upcycle. Though a father, daughter team estate sale and Ive bought a few things from them at decent prices. Maybe I need a trip to Utah! We are not that far! I also support local. Our little artisan group sells on Friday nights here. We all buy from each other. The county arts council is really trying to push all the small towns and now doing a local craft fair in each of them twice a year. And i push it too. Recycle is my middle name!
That was fun shopping with you guys . " Thank you :)
What a fun shop! Looking forward to see what you do with all the great finds you and Zeb found!
I love that piece you got for yourself. Also a great day of picking I think. Enjoy visiting your shop. I actually prefer yours! Also I know you see it everyday but I always love the gorgeous mountains in the background
Beautiful
Oh my goodness, I love the pink rocking chair! I have a small rocker that I bought a while back and it is dark colors, I'm going pink! Did you use chalk paint and did you seal it? I love both shops, I could spend all day in them and dream. Thank you all for sharing..........Mary
We used DIY in tarnished pearl and then went over that with farmhouse finishes in wildflower.
jamirayvintage.com/collections/farmhouse-finishes/products/wildflower-farmhouse-finishes
Love you guys.
Jamie/Zeb your shoppe is nothing to sneeze at and Zeb can make or fix anything
Can't wait to see what you do with that one wooden piece that's been sitting there. I'll bet it sales as soon as you paint it!
Jami, your 'pot' is a wash boiler!
That big bucket looks like a baby tub or something you Wash your clothes in (to me).
Not to cook in. It's called a copper boiler. Used for boiling linens.
Lorraine Syratt Just what I was going to say. My mom had one they came down and her family.
@@glendacloud2911 Ya .. they used to boil those Edwardian whites and hang them out to dry in the sun to keep them white.
Yes!! I think you are right❤
Love that you knew ❣ Learning about all is so interesting ... It is exciting to me 😍
I thought you were going to miss the round tray! Too bad you cant hear us... round wood tray Zeb... to the left...🤣🤣🤣
The the video tour~
I'm jealous....I want to be close to your store.
Awesome Finds ❤️ You guys always inspire me 👏
Love everything, also love those big lanterns how much are they ?
The lanterns are $150.00 each.
Copper pot called a boiler!
And they painted with lead back then, some body should have been complaining. 🙀
For laundry, not cooking
Hi I think your shop is very nice
Staging is difficult the same as why are you attracted to the other shop for me and only my opinion from a designer/ florist background
The other shop had layers and lots of natural tones and you feel you want to explore and buy something to recreate at home
It’s like going to a fancy garden centre looking at a Christmas tree display which has hundreds of baubles on it
But in reality you can only afford 5 or ten ect your tree is never going to look like the tree but you want the look
I’ve spent my whole working like looking into shop experience and the technicians behind it because it intrigues me
So fo me your display are very against the walls and clean lines with very much the same thing grouped together all the draws shut ect it’s not wrong but, it’s you can see everything before your eyes clearly and no digging required or exploring! Things on a tilt ect and her shop was not as bright as yours it had a warmer feel
I am not being criticality at all, I really feel you are both amazballs x
Thanks! Great tips. 😊❤️
Oh my god you talk so laou...wow...noooo
Your shop is gorgeous, always inspiring. I want to be as creative as you two are when I grow up!!! LOL I’m 60.
Love your Shop, your Country Style, and your Generous Heart! Lots of people would never film another's place. I know you sell a *ton* of stuff....that says it all!
❤️❤️❤️
I agree that you don’t want your shop to have a “mart” look, but you may want to find a company or two that you can order a few things. Seasonal, floral, and other items that would add to your shop.
Moms neighbor said that her mother did laundry in the copper pot
That shop was gorgeous!! A bit overcrowded for my liking, but amazing nonetheless. You though Jami don’t give yourself enough credit, your shop always looks amazing too!! 🥰
Her shop was nice but I like yours much better!!
What a treat to see Brambles and Blossoms! I can see why you like wandering through there for sure. I also like that you showcased her shop and gave her full credit. Although I always love your shop, too; the two are completely different. Those baskets Zeb picked up are what we used to use for laundry baskets in the 70s and 80s. I use flat bottomed canvas bags with handles these days - so much easier and lighter! lol Thanks again for a real treat!
you're funny Jami, I think your store looks great, hers is great too just more mono chromatic ( in the sense that I see brown cream green, grey) your store has fun colors, I love that
I love your shop Jami! don't sell yourself short. you inspire me everyday!!
❤️❤️
It's a copper boiler!!! They put these on wood stoves to warm water for clothes washing. Some were all copper/,or with copper bottoms. Few were tin or galvanized!!!
Loved the shop and your thrifted finds were awesome
HER SHOP IS DEFINITELY A "COMPLIMENT TO HER PROFESSION*** THANK YOU FOR SHARING
Love seeing the tour of your shop at the end. You are such an inspiration.
I have a boiler just like that one. My Mother and Grandmother used it to bottle and can food on an outdoor fire.
My cup runneth over a great shop and a thrift store in one video! As I was saying I have some of the same stuff That jar with the white stopper, I have 2 of those from the 100 mile yard sale. That tin ceiling tile with the mirror was fantastic and that oval frame, so fun. I love a good thrift!!!!
I keep my flower inventory stored in my copper pot on display until someone buys it.
That rooster, that pig, that lamp oh my!!! Those pillows and glass jugs.... the sugar molds.... I need one of everything!!!! That store is amazing!
I’ve love what you got for yourself,it’s Gorgeous. That shop is just Beautiful, eye candy for sure . Now can’t wait for tomorrow’s video ! Lol 😂
Oh my thank you so much for sharing this what a gorgeous shop. It totally is eye candy and I do agree going and visiting others shops just you sharing this just gave me a couple of ideas. I could sure drop some money in here lol. Your shop is so cute love the things you have another shop I could drop some money in.
My parents & grandparents called your pot a ‘boiler.’ They put it on the wood stove and filled it with water to heat for laundry and Saturday night baths. Jami, that shop is great but your shop is also great and unique to the wonderful talents God has created in you and Zeb to be YOU. Embrace what He has given you.💖💐
Jami you’re so adorable and so inspiring. I’ve learned so so much from you… And continue to do so… Keep on keeping on girl 😘🤍
Years ago I had a shop in a historic southern finger lakes region of New York State! There were great shops similar to the one you visited! I combined my art, custom framing, and vintage items! Jami I admire how you see talent in others, every time I see your shop it gets better and better! You have a great eye for display! It doesn’t hurt that you both are willing to go the extra mile to get things done! God bless!
I'm doing some Renovations in the house and I'm definitely going to try to make my kitchen French country thank you for the inspiration
One thing I noticed about her shop was that very little of the furniture was pushed up against the walls. All of her big pieces were laid out in a zig zag/caddy corner fashion. I noticed that this allowed each piece to be their own vignette. Amazing! Thanks for sharing her store. What an inspiration!
Always great to open your eyes and minds to other shops. Share decor ideas. No matter how I've decorated over the years and have seen trends come and go, I always use linens, florals and greenery. Love your awesome video and this shop that is done up right!! Thank you! -Al Monte xo
Loved the shop, it was so warm and inviting with oodles to look at and feel the texture of, very inspiring. You're doing great with your shop too and always mixing it up so your customers never get bored
try staging like vinetts, Seperate room displays. Let the display tell a story!. Set up like a scene. Thar's how I do it.
This shop is stunning, love so many pieces
Well that was fun! I love all the pillows at the shop (cozy), I love the pot you bought, too.
Oh, by the way, there would have been a handled cover, that fit snugly........
It’s a Copper boiler, I have one with a lid too!
🇨🇦 nice copper laundry tub!!!! ❤️🇨🇦
The metal container marked Rome that you purchased, I had one that was copper. I put on my porch and someone stole it. I was heartbroken. I wish I lived near you, and I would have purchased so many things at the antique store you visited. I loved the sheep pillow.
Thats a "copper boiler" for cleaning, laundry and soap making.I have never had one that says ROME! Beautiful!
The copper vessel you purchased was amazing!
It's a COPPER BOILER, not for cooklng, but for boiling the wash on the stove......Antique Dealer here, as I had one of those.......
Actually I bought and sold vintage for awhile. I also lived using those type of items. Frequently the folks who ID stuff have no history of using the items. Those old boiler pots were actually used as needed for what had to be done. For wash house Mondays, canning season, baby baths, dish washing and often an older enamel/tin one was put on top of the wood stove, filled with clean water which was dipped out into enamel dishpans, buckets and other containers when you needed hot water. After my family members passed on we had about 10 of them copper and other kinds. Needless to say some stayed in the house for use and others were sold. The shops I see here are fabulous and I enjoy seeing all that is now sold had sat unused for a long, long time.
yes. copper boiler. love mine. that's a good find!!
They boiled their wash water so they could get their clothes cleaner. I think I'd find a couple of vendors to bring in more "soft" linens and things ... Maybe candles and soaps too. Maybe even a florist who'd keep the shop in lavender and narcissus or waterever went with the season. Maybe they could share shop sitting. But you'd have to take them to THAT shop! lol ... so they didn't go toooo artsy/crafty. Also noticed lots of straw tote bags. Put that on your GW list and check for them by the purses! I agree that the shop owner had a way of not making her shop look like an old pile o' junk! Very tastefully done! xx
❤️❤️
I agree with Cheryl's comment... Your shop looks awesome, not as tightly packed. Also... I like that you have some color going on, with just pastels. Keep up the great work in your store!
❤️❤️
I have two of those old containers. Glad I kept them
It’s a very beautiful space, so much if it is what I call “mart” stuff. Meaning it was ordered at a show from a merchandise mart. She has a great eye and has mixed in some wonderful old things, but the new sure does seem to out weigh the old.
Painting wood will reserve the wood.
The metal tub you purchased looks like the old “boilers” we used to have. You could boil sap in them or your laundry. They look fantastic at Christmas with greenery and red or white berries in them. Sure wish we had places like this in my area. We have the Salvation Army, Value Village, a Re store and a Hospice. Once in a while you can find some neat things at the Re-Store and a couple years ago I got a Duncan Fyffe table and four chairs in great condition regular $250 on for $125. I had been looking for years for one and was elated when I found it. The VV prices have gotten insane and rarely do I find anything there, but, it does happen, but, their prices have gotten insane as has the SS. I don’t know who prices their wears, but, someone needs to tell them!!!! Loved this video. I’d so love to have my place looking like this or yours, either or, I love them both. So enjoy your video’s!!! Have a great day!
Great items in this shop! I want one of everything! Lol... TFS! 😊
So much fun coming along with you guys...Loved B & B...Could browse and imagine for hours...Your shop IS AMAZING ❣❣❣ Would LOVE to visit / would be a lot of ohooing and ahhhing ❣❣❣
Love the Bramble shop. Yours is not quite as rustic, but it can be! I love crusty, chippy and rusty! You of all people can do this , your way, Jami! What a great DI. I researched and they are only in the Western US. Good haul. I dearly love that pink rocker. What a great gift for a new baby girls mom.
PS the ring plates are for wine bottles to keep drips off the table linens. My French mother-in-law gave me some :)
We have a yearly Vintage Market Days in Pittsburgh, Pa. Many of the booths are like that store...full of inspiration and eye candy. Your store is also very beautiful and inspiring. I love you vignettes and how you can tell it is a labor of love. You and Zeb are great pickers. I wish I lived closer!!💗
Cute shop but a bit too rustic/primitive for my taste. J & Z, I like where you’re going with your shop which has a fresh and updated feel. I do however, like the use of vertical space in the Brambleton shop. Zeb could make some of those narrow wall shelves in various sizes, that you could sell and use for display.
I am exactly on same page.....love to go to shops for inspiration and usually buy for me😊 for our farmhouse.....now that I have a blank slate 1000 sq feet....starting anew in a cottage on our farm it is very overwhelming on how to get it started with what I already have and where I want to be.....that shop was awesome great ideas and I learn from you too! Thanks for sharing!💫
I do not own a shop, but I like to go into little shops that have different fabric textures mixed in - like woven rugs, doilies, linens, chunky knits....... like baskets that have things in them. You have great ideas, just sharing mine.
That shop was beautiful but I so appreciate your approach. Having budget restraints, your work makes me feel like I can still get the design I want.
That leather container might have been for rolled up maps and the silverplate things are probably coasters. Did’nt like the 3 baskets. They where all very substanders and broken. Loved, loved the green mirror!
That shop was AMAZING! The sheep wool pillow made my heart flutter but the thing that stood out most to me besides the entire shop lol, was those white urns with the pink babies breath or whatever that was in it. I just lofvvved that. I love your shop that you show too Jami, I would be broke if I lived near you. Thanks for sharing.
The big, oval copper thing is a boiler, typically used to boil the laundry water. Since it's oval, it fits over two burners, so boils a lot of water fast.
Not for cooking!
Jami, the metal pan looks a lot like the pan my grandmother used on an open fire outside for canning. The jars were placed inside with water, covered, brought to a boil and cooked for whatever the required time was to cook what was in the jar. Then taken off the fire to cool causing the jars to create a vaccuum seal. I saw my grandmother do this on their farm in West Virginia .
Love your shop colors. I agree support local boutiques, but thrifting and as a reseller it’s hard to come to buying items because of the prices they charge and the prices you know you can pay if you thrift it yourself lol.
Love all of your finds! 😍😍😍😍 I found the exactly same butter dish last week! #jamistwin 🤪
I wanna give suggestions but you don't have to take them, but I would love to see like the green that was in the bramble store ( dark chippy green wood showing through) on the oval frame and free standing mirror thing you got , also greenery in the jar with bird on it and maybe baskets zen got stain walnut with chippy white and green
I agree with a lot of commentators here, lovely items but overkill for me, too much to see in one trip, I prefer Jami’s shop, this is too much like a museum not a shop, give me Jami’s any day, so Jami can pick here then display it in her shop and that for me would be more comfortable.
If you want to add more small items to your shop, maybe team up or display things from artisan producers of soaps, handmade brushes, textiles from weavers etc. These items can be really good sellers and you can support small producers from your area.
That shop was beautiful . Love the pick you bought can’t wait till tomorrow video ❤️❤️
Love that store. But don't sell yourself short Jami your shop is beautiful and you create a lot of precious things too. Thanks for the video.
