One of these is for sale in my hometown. I hate to sound stupid, but is there a line input for phono. I am new to turntables and receivers and I am shopping around for one. Specifically for my turntable.
Hello Dr. Cassette, thanks for your reply/advice. One more question. I am talking to someone about some vintage Advent 1 speakers. I have many options for a receiver. A couple from the 60s,and 70s, or a Marantz model SR-4320 for fairly cheap. You said on your video that this has a nice warm sound. Do you think this would be a good companion receiver for someone who is trying to recreate a warm/70s vintage HiFi sound? They have Suggested Minimum Amplifier Power 15 Watts per Channel.
Hi DrCassette, so glad I found your video. I have exactly the same receiver but a couple of weeks ago it broke down all of a sudden. When I try to switch it on, the red signal light is flickering and you only hear a clicking sound. I opened the reveicer and located the sound coming from the black box behind the remote control unit you're mentioning at 1:01. You call it the "relays". Do you have any idea in how far my problem relates to this unit and whether it is possible to fix it at a reasonable price? Thanks a lot for your help!
Sonst muss da wohl was neues her...
@vwestlife Some higher priced stereo equiment offers these detachable power cords, and the high end audio equipment owners like to get special high end audio power cords that cost around 500$, along with special pure gold fuses and power outlets (that's not a joke!). I think this feature is quite handy.
I don't like "modern" amps.The board is too simple. My amp has the same "problem",it gets REALLY hot.Fixed it by mounting 3 8cm pc vents underneath,with their own power supply.It still gets hot but it take's longer to get to the earlier temperature. I like the AC cable.That's a proper cable for an amp. You said pre out,does that mean you can use it an preamp??
Marantz= much more reliable than Harman Kardon, and generally sounds better too. You can tell by the weight and the size of the transformer that it has a big power supply and good sound.
At the point when I made the video the receiver hadn't been used in years. So the tone settings were all over the place. When I was still using the unit, I had the treble set flat.
@CSquire82
I doesn't process any video signal, it just acts as a switch, if you have your DVD player and your hifi stereo VCR hooked up to the stereo.
@costellom5
Yes, you can use it as a pre amp, and you can use it as a power amp as well.

Does this unit have any bass management to control output to large or small monitors?
There is a regular phono input for moving magnet (MM) cartridges.

Don't remember seeing the output in the front of the amp before. Very nice unit.

If those are RC5 remote jacks you can use them to control a Philips CD player.
Thank you for details . 50 $ is a decent price for an used but in good condition ?
Yes, I think that would be a decent price.
It has a bass control as a part of the classic tone control setup.
That's the first time I've seen a stereo component with a computer-type power cord.
10 years ago! now it’s quite common haha
My Technics SU-7300 has filter capacitors with 8400 µF (but I think this value is more common).

Bought this recently from eBay Germany in New Condition for 249 Euros and it costed me more than that to import it to the country where I live.
Not exactly. The only thing they share are their logistical departments.
Denon and marantz are the same company :-D

Music sounds different to different people's ears. So I'm not going to give any recommendations.
treble plus six! Yikes! if you have horn speakers!
