Pigs are actually a very viable human support class for loot detection. However they're only really meta for very specific types of loot like truffles.
Some dog breeds can do that too.
You'd think they'd be about as decent as dogs for their scent ability minus having to deal with a dog's aggression towards delicious little critters.
Dog mains are better at this since pig mains tend to take the loot themselves.

They also have a complex family structure, they teach and protect their own, scout, surveil, make strategic use of varied food sources, have insanely high stealth abilities, work well in the dark, they can see parts of the infrared range, they use sight, hearing, smell as well as being able to identify structures and changes to their environment and can sense vibrations due to their hooves. avoid conflict through stealth or intimidation. Their subdermal amour can easily stop a hand fire arm attack to the torso / shoulder. They have a number of attack abilities, Ram, Throw, Bite, Slash. Their weakness is their desire for a peaceful existence, they avoid confrontation where ever possible, which works well when your at the top of the food chain, but is a disadvantage when you have to deal with Humans. Where they do decide to attack they almost allays win. A single wild boar can take down a whole pack of dogs in seconds. They can reach sizes of several hundred kilos, 300 pounds is not the biggest, 70 kilos / 140 pounds is common. I have never seen a pack attack, their scouts or one of the Mothers will defend where no other option is available the rest will as agreed upon in their social structure flee to predefined locations. They can run faster than a human and keep it up for several minutes. Their adrenalin allows additionally for them to ignore even fatal damage for minutes and still cause serios damage. They work better in snow and sand than a human, they have "4 wheel drive", they are more stable than Humans, they can traverse inclines impossible for a human. This is one of the most remarkable beings I have ever come across.
