  • Nick Wright hammers on the Los Angeles Lakers' incompetent front office for again taking another loss. They offered UConn head coach Dan Hurley a six-year, $70 million deal but rejected to return to the Huskies for an opportunity to win a third straight championship.

Reading between the lines: LBJ wanted JJ and they were about to move forward and AD said he didn’t want him and then LBJ said “I’m staying out of it, pick for AD” and then Hurley used us to get a bump. He wasn’t coming no matter what.

Guys there was almost zero chance he was going to sign and the Lakers KNEW IT!!! Slimy Woj leaked the story to give his longtime friend leverage to renegotiate with UConn. Lakers HAD to put forth an offer to appease their fans knowing full well that it was a complete waste of time. And yes, I can assure you the reason they didn’t offer more wasn’t because they were cheap, it was because they knew it would set a new baseline for whoever they were going to hire. Sorta damned it you do/damned if you don’t. Bottom line is Woj put them in a lose/lose situation to help the Hurley family. Shams was right all along…

He turned the job down because his family wanted to stay on the East coast. His wife simply didn't want to move. That plus he liked his coaching job at UCON. No amount of money was going to compete with those things. Get over it and move on.

It is always everybody’s fault, except for LeFraud. He is always signing short term contracts. How do you expect a franchise or coach to do business when this guy does not commit long-term?

First you need to grow up and quit name calling. Secondly, it's obvious what you need to do. Hire a great coach in spite of Lebron. Since he has verbally said he wants nothing to do with hiring coaches take him at his word and hold his tail to the fire if need be...

Horrible Kobestan take that ignores Jeanie's history. LeBron delivered the coach he wanted to play for, and Jeanie lowballed him. Ty Lue went and became an assistant rather than take the Lakers head coaching job under the conditions Jeanie set forth. Jeanie is the worst owner in sports but Kobestans can't see it because they hate LeBron so much.

  • @kf4778

Stop with this false theory that it was about the money when WOJ said it wasn't. Nowhere was it reported that Hurley wanted more money and the Lakers refused to pay him. Most people didn't even know Hurley existed until he was attached to the Lakers, and it dominated the sports headlines. Ultimately, he could make the same money in College without the intense pressure of the NBA and coaching the Lakers. The stage was too big and the lights were too bright for him in LA. #MentalHealth. And as Kobe said, "If I need to convince you to come here to carry that legacy forward, you ain't the one to be here."

So Rob Pelinka wins a championship a few years ago all of a sudden the Lakers front office is incompetent. While the rest of the GMs in the NBA are collecting 1st round picks that get them nowhere 😂.
Lakers have won 6 championships in the last 25 years and it’s an incompetent franchise 🤦🏻‍♂️

@@Dakchait would be individually but he definitely would be part of a ownership group. He’s already worth more than Jeanie. That being said, that would be the last thing I would want if I was Lebron. Lebron has covered up a lot of the blemishes the Laker organization have, just like he did with the Cavs. Anytime something doesn’t work out, blame Lebron! Yes players who play with Lebron get put in the spotlight but not to the degree Lebron is in it. Mind you, AD and AR openly came out with comments that were a knock against Darwin Ham, yet people are blaming Lebron for his firing. There are a lot of Laker fans that don’t appreciate him and are waiting for him to leave or retire. I actually hopes he leaves, this organization as been a train wreck.
