I've visited more times than I can remember, but I have never seen such a low tide as in your opening shots here. I knew there were rocks, but I never saw so many above sea level.
Having been in Ventnor yesterday, I was shocked at how run down the town centre now is. The coast line remains beautiful but shops etc in serious decline. So sad to see.
