Parking of car is not a major problem in Onitsha, on the contrary, they are lucky to get it cheaper. Some advanced countries pay for the parking space.

One of the things the government can do is investigate truck / vehicle for road worthiness to make sure vehicles are meeting road safety standards either they are carrying sand / building material / transporting people. Onitsha need central water system to make sure every home has a central water system for septic, household use that work 24/7, Power supply that work 24/7 98% of the time is also lacking. designated parking, expanded walkway for pedestrian. These are things that needs to be done. The government is making progress but alot is still desire to meet expectation of the residents. One critical element missing is communication. They need to communicate their plan to the community, establish timeline, and get people buy in. Part of leading or governing is communicating, having a town hall meeting, listen to people, and get their feedback. That goes a long way. Good post but share these concerns with the right leaders
Parking cars along the street is everywhere in the world, but in some streets in European cities, you have to pay at the paying machine and place the ticket in your windscreen. The problem of our street is cleaning and waste management.
Our roads are not wide enough for such practices and no dime is generated generally from it, and then it makes the roads more difficult to get cleaned. So urgent measures needs to be applied if we must get it right. Thank you for your contribution

Soludo loves sand on the roads. It reminds him of his childhood. He has no plans to get the streets cleaned. If you want clean modern streets in Anambra state, wait till Soludo leaves office.
Soludo is throwing money with all these bad planned road constructions. FGS, why not cover those gutters and build walk ways on them?. Contract the environmental cleaning to private companies. Sack the incompetent commissioner of environment, and Onitsha and Ogbaru LGAs Chairmen.

There is no city anywhere where goods are displayed everywhere including on the roads and sidewalks. 3. There is no city anywhere (except maybe Bangladesh) where shanties are erected everywhere without planning permission. 5. My friend not only in onitsha even in Lagos how many commercial houses have compound for cars parking, and on unemployment is all over Nigeria.
